Lovely villa but in need of a face lift.
We are 4 independent friends who regularly rent holiday villas and who stayed in Villa Blue Maho for 14 days. We have a slightly mixed review of this property because there are many pros but also several cons. The villa is beautifully sited with wonderful views of the marine goings on in Marigot Bay; a good, medium sized pool and airy and comfortable bedrooms and beds. The villa was very clean with a good supply of clean linen and towels. Pauline, the house manager was helpful and the cleaners effective. Pauline got us an additional two sun loungers when requested as there were only two for the four of us on arrival.  Cornelius also fixed the ageing lock on the main bedroom door which was sticking badly. However the villa is in need of quite a bit of love and attention. The exterior is becoming shabby and needs some repair (gutters etc) and the property definitely needs a re-paint. The upper West facing terrace could be a lovely place to catch the afternoon sun but badly needs decorating and some sort of shade awning erected - the metal structure is already there. Sadly this terrace is also completely devoid of any sort of furniture. Similarly the rotary dryer on the pool deck is also unattractive and takes up a lot of valuable leisure room. Internally there are several lights that don’t work and many of the taps drip and the shower heads definitely need attention as they are not very effective. Some items need attention in the kitchen (the non-working fan by the cooker, the wobbly upper shelf and non working soap dispenser in the dishwasher etc. The kitchen is very well provisioned with cooking utensils but some crockery (cups and mugs) and cutlery are in fairly short supply for four and would be a bit of a problem with a full house of seven people. One thing that is not clear in the description is that the small bedroom in the upstairs apartment can only be accessed through the larger bedroom and the bathroom can only be accessed from the smaller room by going through the larger bedroom - not ideal. We also felt that a rather more detailed ‘Villa Book’ would be useful giving general area information (doctors, banks, restaurants, shops etc.) and specific information about the villa (recycling arrangements, how does the complicated microwave oven work etc). However the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and overall this villa is fair value for money but we feel the true rating for this property should actually be about three & a half stars.

Most relaxing holiday we’ve had
The two of us had 10 great days at this fantastic huge property. The view of Marigot Bay is as good as the photos and the pool is nice and clean. Albeit not heated. The house itself is cosy and clean, great kitchen, living area with tv etc. And even a working barbecue with everything you need. Our bed comfortable and the showers worked great. Powerful flow and nice and as hot as you want it, always important. About a 10 min walk down to Marigot bay and all the restaurants including the main resort so great just to walk in and spend the day at their pool and swim up bar for food and drinks. It’s a little more walking backup hill but worth it to burn off all the food and drink. Pauline, Cornelius and taxi driver Moses all on hand for any excursions or questions about the island which is very convenient. It can get a little breezy at night which makes things clatter an bang a bit outside. So worth it to take a pair of earplugs. If we came back to St. Lucia we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful position above the small harbour with ferry access to the beach
An ideal property for our family, who came for varying times throughout the 3 weeks we spent there. Villa was as well equipped as any family home, had both east & west facing terraces so always somewhere for everyone to sit either in sun or shade.

Best view ever!
Just had to tear ourselves away after 2 weeks at Blue Maho. This unique, spacious villa had begun to feel like home; it is an older property and has a few quirks but these mostly add to the charm. In general, the description of this villa was very accurate and we felt good value for money. However, some of the windows and mosquito screens could do with some attention. The through lounge is an ideal place for relaxation and the 2 main bedrooms really large and with efficient air conditioning. And the massive beds must be the most comfortable I have slept on while away on holiday. The good sized pool may be cold but is very refreshing to escape the heat. The view must be the top selling point of this villa, though. Overlooking the whole of Marigot Bay, you can spend hours watching yachts come and go, the little ferries going between the shores, the pleasure tours with their music, dancing and guides (not too many of these luckily!); plus in the evening you can see the cruise ships going back out to sea for the next leg of their journey. The manager Pauline was wonderful - she responded immediately to any problems and was full of useful information. She met us to guide us to the villa so we found it OK; however, perhaps some signs could be put up on the local roads to help people find it? There are several restaurants in Marigot Bay, most of which we tried. The Rainforest Hideaway is worth a visit if only for its position, Doolittles was rather disappointing, Mygo's OK and Juilettes at the top of the bay a good option. The drive to Soufriere, although only 20 miles, took us about an hour (we had hired our own car) but it is well worth a visit The road is in fairly good condition (compared to some of the other roads we drove on!) but winds its way up and down all the hills. We especially enjoyed the mud baths at the Sulphur Springs. And we had a couple of lovely lunches in the restaurants of 2 hotels: Hummingbird (just as you come into Soufriere) and Stonevillas Estate (on the hill going out of Soufriere). Another trip worth going on is the aerial tram ride; we managed (eventually) to find this ourselves but you might be better getting a taxi as it is really difficult finding your way around in a car once you get off the main roads; no road signs and rarely a sign to tell you which village you are in. Pigeon Island in the north is also worth a look. Altogether, a lovely holiday in the most beautiful bay on a beautiful island.

One of the best things in St Lucia!
My family and I stayed in Alicia’s property (Villa Blue Maho) in Marigot Bay in Jan 2024 and I have to say that the house itself and its view to the bay were among the best things we experienced in St Lucia. Alicia was very responsive, and very helpful. Always had a great recommendation for all our needs. The house was clean, spacious for the 4 of us and can easily accommodate many more. The pool was great and above all the magical view to the bay is something that you have to experience. Thank you Alicia for everything!
