About this property

This is the guesthouse of a beautiful countryhouse located in the middle of a vast estate of vineyards and olive grows ,overlooking the ancient city of Orvieto. From here you can easily reach, by train or car, many important cities like Rome,Florence ,Siena, Perugia ,Viterbo and many others. Lake Bolsena, 9 km away, offers nice beaches and water sports.
The house is on two levels: on the ground floor there are a nice living room with pelletstove, a master bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a studio or second bedroom with one or two bed.
On the second floor there are a fully equipped kitchen , a bathroom with shower and a terrace with pergola for eating al fresco overlooking Orvieto. A large garden surround the house.
18x8 metres swimming pool to be shared with another house at 500 metres.

During the winter months the cost of heating is separate, normally a bag of pellet is required per day ( approximately 9 euros)

A peaceful, beautifully situated cottage with fabulous shared pool.

A lovely, comfortable cottage with everything you need for a good stay. Simonetta could not have been more helpful and friendly. And the views from the terrace overlooking Orvieto will be long remembered.. To add to all this you can buy discounted (and delicious) wines from their own vineyard. What’s not to like!

Book here. It's as simple as that.

We're a family of 4. We have teenagers. We're British....but don't click away just yet. And we've travelled a bit over this planet. I've always said we'd never got back anywhere. Never. The world is too big. There's always a different corner. The familiar business of 'we must come back' written by a guest in cheap biro in a dusty dog eared visitors' book never rang true. I'll tell you what though; we'd love to come back to Il 2. Seriously. It is that good. Come here. See the sun set over these hills behind Orvieto and tell your grand kids. Taste the wine from the estate and boast about it at the pub. Kick back and relax by the pool and just let time run slowly. The house and the grounds allow stresses to drain away. Read this in November. It's dark at 5:00pm. It's cold. It's Sunday. You're watching Antiques Roadshow. Now think of a place where sun, sky and rolling hills merge. Think of a vineyard and wine and endless rolling views over southern Umbria. If this place is available and you've read this much then click on. Book it.

Perfect House in great location

Our first visit to Umbria but will not be our last. This house, the location on a fine vineyard with stunning views across to Orvieto and the warm welcome from Simonetta got our holiday off to a great start. The house is as the pictures - very tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable. Corrado's invitation to the wine tasting the night after our arrival was so kind. A very informative and enjoyable evening. A highlight was regular visits from Umbra the dog and the two cats. The short walk to the excellent pool, via the donkey and horse was lovely and we were blessed to have exclusive use the 10 days we were there. As the weather was so hot it was an excellent facility to have ! Orvieto is a delightful place with much to see and do. Food shopping as well as eating out was easy, with lots of fine produce to choose from. We fitted in a day trip to Rome using the very efficient train service. A great find was Bognaregio just a short drive from the house and a real highlight was a trip to Assisi. Many thanks to Simonetta for the great accommodation and communication to make our holiday go so well. Whilst on site and available if needed, the house and garden offers privacy to guests. We spent many evening hours under the pergola playing cards, chatting, eating and drinking good food and Le Velette wine. Many thanks for a great holiday- we would very much recommend the accommodation and location.

Wonderful house with the most amazing view!

We had a wonderful time at il 2. The house is lovely decorated, clean and has all the amenities you need. Simonetta is a very kind and wonderful host and always available for you. Our youngest son enjoyed the company of the cats and we all fell in love with Umbra the dog... We loved the view of Orvieto from the garden!

Wonderful house on a wine estate just a few miles from glorious Orvieto

The little house had everything you could need and has been extremely well thought through. It was hot when we were there but inside was cool and calm with lovely comfortable furnishings. Orvieto is only a few miles away with lots of restaurants and bars and with a supermarket just down the road everything was to hand. Our hosts invited us to a wine event in their vineyard which was excellent and we were able to buy their wine all week. Driving in Italy isn't for the feint hearted and you do need to drive everywhere, the only drawback is that we couldn't find any restaurants close by - however, this is not unusual in Umbria. The swimming pool is glorious and much bigger than you would get with a private villa, it has plenty of shade but you do need to walk a good 10/15 mins through the estate or a quick 3 minute drive.
