Bright, airy, and comfortably furnished apartment (sleeps 4) with pool and garden, central to all the sights and activities of the region. Close by is the river Dordogne, the bastide of Domme, many chateaux, and the medieval “old town” of Sarlat. Short Breaks and Long Stays also available!

THE AREA

This luxury apartment is situated on the heights overlooking a charming valley, within 1 mile of the riverside town of Cenac (Cenac et St Julien), which has many essential and leisure facilities. Close by is the ancient bastide town of Domme, with its grotto and panoramic views of the river, and the chateau villages of La Roque Cageac, Castlenaud la Chapelle, Vezac and Beynac. The larger town of Sarlat La Caneda is about 6 miles away, with its wonderful medieval “old town”, chic boutiques, an abundance of restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars, entertainments, large retail facilities, and many other services.

At Cenac you are at the centre of all the activities that La Dordogne has to offer: chateaux galore, grottos, troglodyte dwellings, bastide towns, vineyards, wonderful scenery in which to walk, cycle, horse ride and canoe . . and if you're feeling very flush, you can see it all from the air in a hot air balloon, or a private flight!

In the high season, the local towns and villages hold their fetes, and it seems they are in competition to offer the best firework display. Local markets are supplemented by popular 'Marches Gourmande', where you can sit with visitors and locals at long tables, and enjoy hot and cold gourmet dishes purchased from the numerous stall holders, often whilst being entertained by a local band.

THE APARTMENT

The apartment forms part of the owners house so the gardens and pool facilities are shared. You will no doubt be greeted 'Eddi', he is my 10 yo Border Collie, who will be delighted to meet you (after all you'll be someone else to tickle his tummy)

The main room accommodates the sitting area, comprising of a leather double sofa-bed, and a matching leather double sofa. HD TV, Freesat(uk) and TNT, is provided, together with DVD and VCR facilities. Also a music centre with radio, cd and tape is there for your enjoyment. The lounge leads on to the dining area, next to the fully fitted and furnished kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate utility room, which houses the fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and essential cleaning and ironing equipment.

Leading off the main room is an ante room (dressing room with built-in wardrobe/cupboard) which gives access to both the double bedroom (160 x 200 King) and the shower room (with hydro-spa shower, wc, and hand basin).

The whole apartment is well insulated, cool in the heat of summer, and quick to heat (by central heating and/or wall fire) in the winter months.

The pool is within the fully fenced lower garden, and enjoys wonderful views facing west over the valley. The pool is unheated and is open for the months of June, July, August and September, unless there is an “Indian Summer”, which may extend the season into October.


The apartment will accommodate up to max. 4 adults, sleeping on 1 x double bed and 1 x double sofa-bed, and the tariff is inclusive of electricity, hot water, central heating (when applicable), bedding and towels (not pool). If the sofa-bed is utilized in respect of a 3rd and 4th guest, then an extra tariff per person per night is charged.

For all rental periods, a Security Deposit is required of €500 euro, payable to Vrbo at the time of booking, which will be repaid in full if not required to help meet any breakages, damages or losses incurred during your stay. Guest liability for breakages, damages and loss is not limited to the Security Deposit of €500.

An end of rental cleaning charge of €50 is payable at the time of booking , basis leave as found. If extra cleaning is deemed necessary the additional charges will claimed/deducted from the Security Deposit.

MINIMUM STAY Because of extra Covid19 H&S practice the Minimum Stay
period is now provisionally 5 nights throughout the year

The apartment is normally available on the day of arrival from 16:00 hours, and should be vacated no later than 10:00 hours on the day of departure.

Gîte bien équipé et au calme avec une piscine et jardin très agréable et une vue exceptionnelle sur la vallée. Gîte bien placé pour les visites de la région . John est un hôte discret et de bons conseils. Seul petit problème d humidité, qui a été traité .

Comfortable apartment in a great location
We were greeted on arrival by the owner and found the apartment to exceed our expectations. It is even nicer than it appears in the photos. The whole place is impeccably clean and well furnished. The grounds are lovely and the surrounding area is filled with places to visit for people of all interests. John, the owner, provided us with helpful tips on what the area offers and had stacks of brochures for us to look through. We enjoyed peaceful evenings with comfortable furniture and full kitchen facilities. We have already recommended this property to friends and relatives, and we are looking forward to perhaps returning there ourselves some time in the near future.

Very good accommodation and good value for money.
The apartment was well equipped, clean and very nice. The description of the apartment was as it was presented and a very pleasant surprise. The host was most welcoming and his dog very friendly. The swimming pool was clean and a reasonable size as well, with plenty of loungers and seats around it. the location was very peaceful (in fact very quiet), although only 5 minutes by car from Cenac. I would recommend Aire des Buses.
