About this property

Our gorgeous three bedroom casa is centrally located for easy and quick access to beaches, shopping, restaurants, transportation and more. The largest grocery store is only four blocks from the house and some of the best restaurants in PE are within walking distance!

There’s nothing more relaxing than swimming in the large private swimming pool or sitting comfortably on the balcony watching the surfers while enjoying your morning coffee. Right next to the pool is a shaded pool deck with a barbecue and table seating for seven. Both the covered deck and the balcony have ceiling fans to help keep you cool.

Two of the bedrooms are located on the first floor with king beds. Both bedrooms have lots of closet space, a dresser, ceiling and floor fans, and a security safe located in the closets. We encourage our guests to keep their valuables securely locked up when they are not in the residence. There is also a large bathroom with walk-in shower and separate commode.

The second floor contains the dining room, complete kitchen, living room and a second full bathroom. The living room has comfortable furnishings and a TV with DVD player and DVD library. There is also a beautiful balcony with an incredible view of Playa Principal and Zicatela beach. The third bedroom is on the second floor. This is a small bedroom with 2 bunk beds and a small dresser. It is perfect for children traveling with their parents.

Privacy walls with secure entry gates, surround the property. There is room for a single car to park on the property. For added guest security and convenience, there is an on-site property manager. He is available to assist guests with English-Spanish translations, locating local services, attractions and excursions, and/or questions regarding the house or property.

A Return Visit

We were very happy to return to Puerto Escondido and the charming Vista Zicatela. The gardens that surround the house seemed even more beautiful. The Manager Larry was very helpful with answering our questions. He also suggested various stores, restaurants and events that might interest us. Martina maintained the pool, house and gardens with great care. The parrots by the pool provided a great source of amusement for us. The central location of the house enabled us to walk or taxi to various areas as we explored PE. Highlights of this trip were enjoying the cinema and the blues festival on the beach, bird watching on the Manialtepec Lagoon, and exposing the Tututepec Archeological site.

A beautiful oasis

Vista Zicatela with its central location provided a wonderful base to explore the PE area. Numerous beaches are a short walk away as well as shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, beautiful gardens and pool. The manager was friendly and supportive.

Amazing home

This place is perfect for Puerto Escondido. We liked that it was a bit further from the tourist strip but also had easy access to the beach. The beach access was a lot of stairs and one major road crossing but it was a direct route down and there is a pedestrian over pass a few blocks down. There was a store and restaurants all within a few blocks. The house was very clean and the pool was absolutely perfect. The home felt private and safe. The owner and caretaker responded immediately and helped us out the whole trip. We will likely be back to stay here.

Perfect home away from home!

Wonderful home with an amazing garden, pool and patio area (with a poolside fridge). Close to the beach and shops. The kitchen is well equipped and the property staff kind and helpful. There is a small tiende close by and several restaurants within blocks. Pepe’s tacos is a must! Wonderful vacation in wonderful neighborhood!

Great time

The property was clean and comfortable. Mr. Larry made sure we had everything we needed and was quick to answer questions and give recommendations. The pool was the best feature. We enjoyed the pool every night after spending the day out and about. Great stay!

This house has everything. It's within walking distance to every where. The pool is perfect.

Puerto Escondido offers an extraordinary variety of white sand beaches, surf breaks, hidden coves and fresh water lagoons. When you tire of beach exploration, shopping and cultural opportunities abound. Puerto Escondido offers something for everyone. Favored things to do include horseback riding on the beach, surf fishing, boogie boarding, surfing, eco tours, kayaking, bird watching or just relaxing. Experience the culture of Mexico — explore the nearby towns of Tututepec, Jamiltepec, Pinotepa Nacional, Pinotepa de Don Luis, Colotopec, and Nopala. Tours are available. Contact Gina at the Puerto Escondido tourism booth on the Adoquin.

Central Puerto Escondido supports two American-style grocery stores that sell items like cereal and deli meat, but most locals and tourists favor the Mercado Benito Juarez. Like most Mexican markets, it is one of the social mainstays of the town. A sprawling affair that takes up half of a block, it is most active on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On these days, people from the surrounding mountains make their way down to Puerto via the night bus. They bring with them such items as homemade tostadas sweetened with palm fruit, edible flowers from mountain trees, and stacks of beans tied together with palm fronds. This is a must visit!
