About this property

Beautiful 6+ Bedroom Farmhouse On 460 Acre Working Farm

6 Bedrooms, Sleeping Porch, 5 Full Baths, 1/2 Bath. Sleeps 12.

The Farmhouse is a late 19th century house, completely restored in 2008. Set amidst a 460 acre working farm on a quiet dirt road. It has 6 bedrooms, sleeping porch, 5 1/2 baths, living room, dining room, great room with kitchen, family room, and breakfast table, den, large playroom with TV, ping-pong table and swings, large mudroom, covered front porch, two flagstone patios, Wi-Fi.

Visitors on our farm are welcome to collect fresh eggs in the morning for breakfast. In the spring, summer, and fall watch the Black Angus graze on the pastures while drinking coffee, visit the turkeys and hear them call from across the pasture, walk the trails through the woods, enjoy a picnic in one of the high pastures overlooking the Catskills, cool off with a jump off the dock into the pond. In the winter the pastures and barns are quiet as most of the animals have gone to market. Sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skating on the pond, and winter walks make up the days, weather permitting of course.

10/10 Excellent

Carla C.

We loved the gracious farmhouse and the extensive property.
We were a party of eleven, myself, my husband and his mother, our five grown children and friends. When my husband, his mother and myself pulled up to the property, we were greeted by some very happy offspring on the gracious porch. And walking in, this feeling was never let down. We loved the open circular flow, the wood floors, the lighting and furniture, the open kitchen, the fire place area, the attention to art on the walls, the splendid pantry with permission to use those provisions. We were able to cook extensive meals altogether without getting cramped. As well, the house handled our sleeping needs--there were private bedrooms with lovely beds for every person or couple. My mother-in-law had her own room with windows and bathroom which she thought was delightful. The house has a welcoming feeling, and put our group in a state of gratitude and friendliness which lasted the seven days we were there. Although the weather was not exactly sunny, we all took long walks on the property and experienced appreciation of nature, the wooded sections, the rolling hills, seeing some cows and chickens and horses and so many birds. We did not see another person, which was just what we needed- a true getaway where we could be ourselves together. The owners responded to our question about the heat, when the temperature had dropped. In such a large mansion, we were still warm. They also were kind enough to put up a Christmas tree for us, decorated with sliced citrus ornaments and popcorn-garland and small white lights. The decorations were just enough and not too much. I had the feeling I could have stayed at least another week just to fully enjoy the nature, and maybe that would not have been enough time, because it was just intoxicating to be out in the air, knowing the return to the grand farmhouse would be a reward. Lastly, let me just say the wifi, as well as our cell service worked! Thus we were away, yet not cut off.
