Terrific
If you want to get rid of some stress this is the perfect place. Quiet & beautiful. You could spend a few hours just looking at all the things Bill has put into the cabin & porch. You see something new every time. Or old like the pay phone on the porch. Bill is a great owner! You can send him a message anytime & he will get back to you on the same day. Definetly check out the Monson general store. They have great sandwiches for breakfast & lunch. Everything is so fresh & great desserts too!

Epic private setting for a lakeside adventure
We had a large family gather here, aged 6 months to 75 years old. The swimming and kayaks were a huge hit, and teens and adults all spent a significant amount of time out on and in the water. The 7 stories of stairs made our calves so strong! There were incredible nearby hikes and waterfalls that also filled our time here. The pool table and other porch games were well utilized. We found the place comfortable, spacious and eclectic, and the owner was quick to respond to any problem or inquiry. I would not hesitate to return. The only drawback, really, was cleanup in the kitchen, with many guests and no dishwasher, the process was lengthy and we arrived to find not even a sponge to wash our dishes. All in all, a fantastic space removed from the hustle and bustle, and plenty of space to spread out, play games, and stay active outdoors. Everyone loved it!

Rustic log cabin on peaceful pond with awesome swimming
We had a great week at this log cabin...very private and quiet but only about 10 minutes from little downtown of Monson; 20 minutes from Greenville. Close to AT and Borestone mountain for hiking. No public boat launch on pond but the guys took our small boat over the lake hebron and also fished in monson pond with kayaks and canoe provided by Bill. Not much biting but grandpa caught a 17" trout in the pond on our 1st day. The swimming was the best....beautiful water and scenery with barely a soul on the pond. Kids enjoyed jumping off the dock. There was plenty of room for the 11 of us to spread out in main living area and screened porch. The sleeping area over porch was not really usable...more due to bugs at night than the heat which wasn't bad when we were there. 17 year old grandson slept on one of the porch couches and 23 year old granddaughter slept on living room couch...everyone else in the 3 remaining rooms. The loft area did have enough beds to have slept more than 4 that were up there. We enjoyed wathcing the hummingbirds at the feeders right outside the windows. We adapted surprisingly quickly to the several flights of stairs to the water....great workout coming back up....would not be a good fit for anyone with mobility issues but our granddaughter ran up and down them as a workout. Bill was by far the best host we've had in all the years of renting....super responsive to any concerns.

Peaceful
This is my family's second time staying here on Monson Pond. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this special place. Similar to last year, we spent most of our time on the water, but did enjoy some local hiking. It rained most of the week we were there, but we didn't let it hinder our family time and enjoyment of the peaceful environment on the pond and beautiful surrounding area. Hope to return again next year!

About the host

I lived in Laconia, NH until I was 18 years old and spent a lot of time on Lake Winnipessaukee in New Hampshire. My uncle owned part of an island just out from the Weirs Beach. During the 60's Lake Winnipesaukee was not to crowded. This is where I leaned to love the wilderness and water. This property that we offer is very much in the wildernesss of Maine and the water is pristine. The fishing is excellent and there are two small beaches on the 815 feet of shore line. My wife and I presently live in Newport, RI and have six children and twelve grandchildren. I am in my 70's , and decided to rent this property in hopes that we can own it thru our retirement. With all the chlidren and grandchildren we do not have as much time to spend at this cabin as we would like. Our children ages are from 23 to 50 and the 13 grandchildren are from 3 mouths to 28 years old. They keep us busy. If you decide to us this property I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

The reason I bought this property is that when I first saw it I was amazed by the view of the water. Looking west over the water you are approximately 7 story's above the water. The sun sets are absolutely breath taking. It has everything, screened porch, large log cabin, great fishing, swimming, small beach, very private, and lots of land for you to explore.

What makes this property unique

The most unique thing about this cabin is the privacy (16 areas)

The second most unique thing is the large size of the cabin.
main floor 2,400 ft2
sceened porch 780 ft2
room over the porch, half story, 390 ft2
loft over the two bedrooms, half story. 680 ft2
deck 300 ft2
TOTAL=4,550 FT2
The third most unique thing, the sunset views over looking the water.
the cabin is no a lake size Monson Pond, 394 areas, 94 deep, Crystal clean, private pond no public access. The owners around the pond are very protective of the privacy.
