Duplex with 3 Bedrooms/2 Baths

Mellow Yellow is a classic, Isle of Palm beach house located on a corner lot on Palm Blvd and 25th Street. Catch peeks of the ocean from the screened porch and fall asleep to the soothing sounds of crashing waves at night. The beach access is directly across Palm Blvd. Mellow Yellow is very close to beach attractions/restaurants/grocery store and is a short drive to historic downtown Charleston.

The Upper unit of this second row duplex is for rent with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms and sleeps 7. The remodeled unit has a bright coastal style and boast hardwood and tile floors, screened-in decks with porch swings and picnic tables, ceiling fans in every room, a washer/dryer, HD cable TV in the living room and master bedrooms, wireless hi-speed internet, and well equipped kitchen. Outside there is an above ground pool with surrounding deck and outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

The Upper unit has 1 king bedroom with full master bath, 1 queen bedroom, and 1 bedroom with a bunk bed (twin on top, full on bottom) that share a bath with a tub and shower.

All linens, towels, beach towels are included in rate. Beach chairs, beach toys, and bikes are available for your enjoyment. The yard is fenced to protect kids and pets. Pack & Play and child booster seat are included. There is ample parking for renters and guests. A city park is located within a couple of blocks with basketball courts, ball field, slides, swings, and a dog park. Pets are welcome with prior approval for an additional fee. The beach is pet friendly. This is a non-smoking home. Contact owner for further information. Be sure to read the sample contract before booking. Monthly winter rental (Nov.-Apr.) is available - call for rate.

Wonderful Propoerty & Will Return again

Spent a wonderful month with my husband and dog at Mellow Yellow. Best buy, best equipped, best location & pet friendly house we have rented in years. Had everything we needed including beach gear, bicycles, access to beach across street, fenced in yard for dog, gas grill, coffee maker, internet access, flat screen cable TVs, and all the kitchen accessories needed. Super responsive staff (Ellen) answered any questions asked. Pool wasn't used in April but is ready for summer visitors. Recommend highly.

We cooked in many times buying local fish and shrimp which were amazing. Loved Morgan's Creek restaurant which is only 1 mile away (biked there a lot). Sullivan's Isle is just a few miles away with great restaurants including a new Mex 1. My favorite activity was walking our dog in the mornings on the pet friendly beach before 10am, as she enjoyed socializing with all the people and other friendly dogs. Forgot to mention ample parking spaces including in house rental also made the stay very comfortable.

We will definitely return to Mellow Yellow in IOP again next year for the location and especially the service!

Great place for our Thanksgiving weekend!:))

We were looking for a house near the beach to be with my daughter & her boyfriend over the Thanksgiving weekend, since she couldn't get home. Mellow Yellow turned out to be perfect!! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots, etc., and the large table made the family meal an enjoyable event! The property was also dog friendly, as was the Isle of Palms beach, which was a short walk across the street, and my daughters dog enjoyed her weekend as much as the rest of us did!:)). We were close to a Harris Teeter for all the last minute items on turkey day, and restaurants for eating out were close and numerous - and wonderful!!

The house was well appointed for a great family weekend - football on a nice large screen TV included - and we all had a great time!:))

If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Ellen's place at the beach, I will bring my earplugs, as the house does have some traffic noise from the busy main road that goes past the front. ( I'm just a very light sleeper - no one else even noticed!)

I am guessing you didn't do 5 stars because of the traffic noise on Palm Blvd. Dealing with the traffic noise is a trade off for being so close to the beach. Palm Blvd. is the main road in and out of Isle of Palms so it does stay busy especially during the holidays. Glad you and your dog liked our beach house. You and your family took great care of our home. We hope you return soon.

Nice casual beach house, very noisy busy road.

Vrbo makes reviewing this difficult, as they require you to choose either "loved it" or "not really". Those options are too opposite- no middle choice. Also vrbo made the initial renting process VERY difficult. I did not realize that the many emails I was getting were coming from vrbo and the owner, and I almost paid twice for the property- very confusing. The property is very close to the beach and very convenient. The fenced backyard was really nice for bringing a dog, which we did. Palm boulevard is really really noisy with constant traffic. The traffic was often reluctant to stop for beach goers to cross. Traffic noise from about 6am to midnight.

Owner's Response: Palm is the main road on the island and everyone wants to come to the beach. Yes, I agree the booking is difficult and confusing. We hope you will return at another time. Fall is more quiet.

Great place!

Mellow Yellow was very spacious, clean and convenient to the beach! Our family had a great time. Very close to attractions! Our grandsons are history buffs so we enjoyed the Hunley exhibit--a civil war submarine restoration that is a must see if you go to Charleston and only open on Saturday and Sunday! We did downtown Charleston, Patriots Point, Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie, Shem Creek, the boys went paddle boarding--all very convenient from Mellow Yellow! The beach access is truly right across the street and very easy access! The pool was nice--nice to have it all to ourselves. We had a great time and would recommend to anyone wanting a place to stay in Charleston/Isle of Palms!
