Lovely apartment on 1st floor of 1870's home. Renovated to highest standards. 2-4 car parking and only a few steps into your own private entrance. Large eat in kitchen, separate dining room and living room with bay window. The apartment is in a quiet older part of town. It is only a block from rail and buses. Enjoy walking to the downtown market on the weekends (June -October) or shopping close by. The Bruce Trail is close by. For road riding or mountain biking, this is the perfect location. Horse back riding, arts, festivals.

Fantastic place and hosts

We’ve had the best time here! It’s warm, cosy, such a lovely family home! Highly recommend. The hosts are fantastic very helpful and friendly, cannot do enough for you!

Great Place

This apartment is spotlessly clean and comfortable, well decorated and set in a quiet neighbourhood but close to the main town areas. The owners live above and are very welcoming and willing to give advice about the area and things to do. It is quite a way out of Toronto centre but only about 10km from the start of the urban sprawl so not bad if you want to avoid being in the city. A nice touch that I have not often encountered is the provision of tea, coffee, bottled water, washing detergent and dishwasher tablets, which saves bringing your own or having to buy far more than you need whilst travelling. The surrounding gardens (award winning) are lovingly tended. The small rear garden is a nice place to have breakfast but only gets the sun for a short time in the morning. A selection of DVD's and a Netflix account sorts out the evening entertainment. As stated in the description it is near the GO train station so there is some train noise morning and evening but it is only a minor disturbance.

Home away from Home

The property was exceptional, furnished and decorated with a great love for detail and equipped with everything one would need. A folder with detailed instructions for everything in the appartment was readily at hand. Numerous places to sit outside with a variety of seating furniture didn't make it easy to choose a favourite spot. Inside, the most coveted place was certainly the bay window seat with the lovely cushions. The property is in a quiet residential neighborhood with shops close by and ideal for trips to Toronto, Niagara, etc.

We traveled to Canada to celebrate our Mother’s birthday and reunite with family. The house was close and convenient to everything you could need. The hosts had everything well stocked and what a pleasant surprise to find a fully stocked coffee station. The place was immaculately clean and well provisioned. Thank you Allan and family for the wonderful hospitality and stay!

About the host

My late wife (Iris) and I purchased this nice duplex back in 2001. The lower apartment was renovated in 2011 to make it into a vacation destination. Iris passed away in 2012 and I have dedicated the apartment to her, Iris's place. I opened the vacation home in Dec.2012.

In 2014, I remarried, and since then, Mary Lynn and I have enjoyed meeting many guests from around the world. We both hope to see you soon.

What makes this property unique

The views from each window and the walkways, all overlook the award winning gardens. Our home has been on the garden tour also. Enjoy sitting on the Muskoka chairs while having an afternoon tea or your morning breakfast. There is a small backyard garden and patio for your own use. This is a very quiet neighborhood and is within walking distance to the train and the old part of town.
