Lovely property in a beautiful area
So glad we managed to book this lovely guesthouse in such an idyllic spot. Overlooking the lake at the front with a vineyard at the back. Initially there was a problem with the WiFi but this was rectified immediately by Ed. The owners made us most welcome and took the time to get to know us. We had a lovely tour of the vineyard with Ed explaining the science behind it all. Brenda and Ed gave us lots of tips on where to visit while we stayed in Lake Country and checked that we had everything that we needed. There were even beach towels, chairs and mats for us to use when we visited the lakes. The property was spotless. The kitchen was fully equipped and there is a good sized washer and dryer. All the beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was a lovely bonus. The bakery next door was very convenient for many things including meals as well as baked goods. There are also shops and restaurants nearby. We visited a local farm which we all enjoyed as we got to hold baby kangaroos! My young adults even managed to take kangaroo selfies!! I would not hesitate to recommend this property to everyone. We hope that we will be able to visit here again in the future. There is an airport close by so you could fly in from another area if you didn't want to do any long drives to get to Lake Country. I would however recommend a hire car to get around in as there are plenty of places of interest and things to see and do. This really is a lovely property which is spotlessly clean in a beautiful area. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine in the evening or having a cup of tea in the morning is a most refreshing and relaxing way to start and/or finish your day. Thank you Brenda and Ed for letting us stay here.

Beautiful Location
This was a lovely property with everything you need. Appreciated the shady location seeing it was very hot when we were there. Close to biking trail and we really enjoyed kayaking on Woods lake. Thanks again for the hospitality Brenda and Edward!

Perfect vacation stay for family and friends
My sister with 2 nephews (6 and 10 years), my sister's sister-in-law, and her son (12 years) and I had a fabulous stay at Edward and Brenda's guest house! Brenda was very welcoming when we arrived even a little earlier. The property was even better than in the picture, everything was clean and organized for our comfort. Special thanks to Elly - a very beautiful and well-mannered dog that plays with kids a lot! We definitely return to your place once we have a chance! Thanks again! P.S. The location was perfect for our needs (we explored a few parks, wineries, and attractions)

Walnuts, grapes, cherries and views
In Okanagan for family event, Grapewood Guesthouse was an excellent location. Well equipped and lots of space. Brenda and Ed were super hosts. Enjoyed being in the midst of farms and very intrigued with black walnut grove. Would stay again if we have a chance.

Host profile image
Ed and Brenda purchased this property in 1991. We were apple orchardists until 2010 when we decided to take a different track and replant to grapes/vineyard. We thoroughly enjoy living in Oyama. It is a rural lifestyle, with great neighbors all around.

Why they chose this property

Oyama has so much to offer. We have heard many times from our visitors how much they enjoy the beauty of the Oyama area. It seemed natural to create a vacation rental to continue to share this great place with others. In 2006 we began the process of constructing our guesthouse. It has been a pleasure and a challenge to think of all the amenities that we would like to offer our guests. We want each guest to enjoy their stay to the maximum.

What makes this property unique

The choices are plenty at Grapewood Guesthouse. Beaches, hiking trails, Cycling the Okanagan Rail Trail (we have 5 adult bikes for guests to rent for a nominal fee) , shopping, fishing local and mountain lakes, tennis courts, boat rentals etc. are all nearby. Or, relaxing with a cool beverage on the shaded private patio on a hot day might just be your style.
