A three bedroom split-level townhouse, sleeping 6-7 people, with a sofa bed in the living room. Substantially refurbished over the past few years, with two replacement shower and vanity units, re-fitted kitchen, non-slip stair tiles, re-tiled throughout, including the main terrace and pool, plus air conditioning. Double bedroom with king-size bed, twin bedroom, an optional twin or triple bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower, a second separate shower cubicle plus WC. Third bedroom downstairs, with shower room and WC. Spacious kitchen very well equipped for self-catering: full-size oven, 4-plate ceramic hob, extractor, microwave/grill, dishwasher, washing machine, waist-high fridge, plus a full height fridge/freezer. Big living room with 32' wide-screen satellite HD-TV, DVD player, radio/CD, 2 coffee tables, three large comfy sofas, sideboard, plus a dining table with seating for six and four high stools at the breakfast bar. All year round private pool with steps into the shallow end, built-in terrace barbecue. Solar panels provide lots of hot water. Driveway access for vehicles. Use of a second community pool. Situated in a prime site, just a 3 minute walk from Burriana Beach. We own the house outright, so rest assured nothing will come between you and your holiday. The house fully complies with the new Andalucia rental law.

Nerja: A popular resort, readily accessible from Malaga and its international airport, with motorway access to within a mile of the town centre. Nestling in the foothills of the mountains, the old town, with its narrow, vehicle restricted, cobbled streets, offers a more relaxed holiday from that found in the big resorts further along the coast. With small picturesque bays, the famous 'Balcon de Europa' promenade, numerous small shops, bars and restaurants, and its wonderful all year round climate, Nerja has something for all seasons, especially for families and the more mature holidaymaker.

Local Excursions: The Nerja Caves, Spain's third biggest tourist attraction, are well worth a visit. A extensive network of fascinating underground caverns with the World's biggest stalactites, plus an auditorium and stage where the annual music and arts festival takes place. Nearby is Maro, a picturesque village with panoramic views across the sea and a small secluded beach, invisible from the cliff top. The mountains shelter many small attractive villages, notably Frigiliana with its restored Roman town and narrow vehicle-free cobbled streets and the 'lost' hamlet of Acebuchal, originally abandoned in 1948. Further afield is the historic city of Granada with its famous Alhambra Palace (pre-booking advised), or perhaps a trip to Malaga and the Picasso Museum. Marbella and Puerto Banus also provide a great day out, as do visits to Mijas, Antequera and the El Torcal National Park. For winter visitors, the 'Sierra Nevada' ski resort, near Granada, is about two hours drive away.

Getting There: 'Easyjet' fly from Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Belfast; 'Flybe' from Southampton, Exeter and Birmingham; 'Jet2' from Leeds/Bradford and Manchester, and 'Thomsonfly' from sixteen UK regional airports. For those in Scotland, 'Ryanair' fly from Edinburgh and Glasgow. For transport to and from Malaga Airport, our local Agent can book a taxi, MPV or minibus (most with air conditioning). We can also recommend a car hire company we regularly use at Malaga Airport.

My wife and I first went to Nerja about eighteen years ago and decided 'this is for us'. Although we have three properties in the Burriana area, all on the HomeAway site, we are not travel or rental agents, we run them privately as our long-term pension fund. We hope to retire out there someday, in the meantime we maintain and look after them as anyone would their own home.

Although the house can sleep seven, ideal for families with children and active senior citizens, we are also able to accommodate an extra child or a baby in a cot. The dining table seats six. Fitted wardrobes, three-speed ceiling fans, hairdryers, bedside tables and lamps in all bedrooms. Heaters in both bathrooms, iron and ironing board, portable cooling fans. The stairs have handrails and non-slip tiles. Security grills on all external windows and doors. Lockable gates secure all of the Urbanisation. Roman steps into the pool, split-level terrace with two tables and umbrella, plus seating for eight and sun loungers for six. Reversible air con. units for 'winter' heating. British Agent on hand to ensure a trouble-free stay. Cot and high chair available, though please advise beforehand. Please enquire for our own website.

"what a find in nerja"

we loved this property the moment we walked in to the moment we left,it is bright and spacious and maintained to a high standard just minutes from the beach and a ten minute stroll to town, the property has all the essentials for cooking and has two fridges, it also has a modern tv and dvd player but we had such a good time and enjoyed the outside space we did not have the tv on while we were there. a return visit for us is a must as staying anywhere else in nerja would be a let down.

The property was filthy, rundown and a ruined holiday

We arrived at the townhouse on the 19 Aug 2017 for 2 weeks excited! We paid directly to the owners out of a trust fund for serious injury after a horrific accident so the holiday meant everything, there were no sea views the patios were in a terrible state of repair, the pool had tiles missing which with a young child was dangerous there is a 20 ft drop next to the pool next to the sewer flow which was very bad with a lot of flies it is on a very noisy road, there is damp everywhere and downstairs bedroom was unusable, sofa bed is a hard dirty settee, the kitchen and bathrooms were unusable until we cleaned them ourselves and the bedding was. Dirty stained mattresses, I couldn't wait to come home, we complained to the owners about the condition of the town house and received a letter 1 month later accusing my family of being thieves the property manager Phil was rude and disrespectful and we never saw a cleaner neither did the property before our arrival I've had lovely holidays with owners direct and met the most helpful owners of properties in the past, this holiday caused nothing but upset regret and mistrust it was misleading to the highest form, derek and Mandy asked us to go through a complaints procedure which we did only to be accused of a crime of theft so they didn't have to take responsibility of their misleading property I wish them luck in the future of misleading hard working people and I'm glad my holiday is over never to return. Nerja is a beautiful place just make sure you know where to stay for me it wouldn't be this property

Owner's Response: We have been renting property through Home Away and its predecessor Holiday-Rentals, both in Nerja and the French Alps for 29 years. Never have we experienced a more difficult client, whose claims are not only false, but we believe are libellous. We have considered taking the matter to court, but we really haven't got the time or interest. We would refer potential renters to recent reviews, just prior to this guest. Subsequent guests, whom we visited in person, have been more than happy and a recent viewing, a fortnight after this guest, has resulted in a reservation in 2018. We have every confidence in our property and our team in Nerja. To all potential renters, feel free to contact us for any concerns you may have.

Villa with pool near sea

We really enjoyed staying at this property. Although it is in a town area, it is 5 minutes walk to the beach and has its own pool which is big enough to cool off and get some exercise even if not olympic-sized.

The property has everything you need for a stay - though we did eat out nearly all the time given that there are so many good restaurants and bars nearby (at both Burriana beach and Nerja itself).

The third bedroom downstairs is reached by a very steep set of stairs - not suitable for anyone who is not able-bodied.

The area nearby is quiet enough to not disturb your sleep. There are supermarkets around (the Spar at the top of the road is deceptively large!).

The aircon was very necessary and worked well.

Only (minor) negatives were the lack of space to walk round the ouside of the pool because of the sunbeds, and the information in the "helpful information" pack which was out of date.

Owner's Response: The house is very popular, being so near the beach. It is part of one of the earliest 'Communities' built in the Burriana area and as such, not built specifically as a rental property. It has been much modernised by ourselves to make it as user friendly as possible and comply with all the latest Spanish regulations.

What a lovely find

This is my 4th visit to Nerja but first visit to the villa

This villa is lovely as are the owners Derek and Mandy

The booking was very easy hassle free .Derek was helpful and prompt in all of the email responses . There was a small welcome pack on arrival very much appreciated after long day travelling . The villa has a lovely pool just what was needed in the Spanish heat to cool off .Lovely terrace area for drinking the G&T sundowners. The villa is perfectly located with bars and restaurants just across the road and the main town of Nerja just a 10-15 minute walk . There are supermarkets both big and small within walking distance The manager Karen was very helpful when the slightly intoxicated husbands managed to lock themselves onto the balcony she came out very promptly to let the less intoxicated wives into the apartment despite it being nearly midnight !

I would definitely recommend booking this villa and i have no doubt that i will be returning next year .

Perfect

Just returned 9/7/11. Had a fantastic time, didn't really need a car once you arrived as everything was within walking distance, Ended up taking the car back half full. Beach 2mins walk as is all bars/restaurants lovely food and very friendly especially 'Rocky's' my girls love the Spaghetti Carbonara. The property was beatifully clean on arrival. I would highly recommend this property

Owner's Response: 'Alamar' is always very popular, one of the nearest properties to Burriana Beach with its own pool, plus the additional advantage of being an easy walk into the centre of town. You don't really need a car, if you're just going to relax locally. Our agent in Nerja is more than happy to arrange the transfer from Malaga Airport.

girls getaway

we have been coming to villa for 5 years and next year will be our 6th, so i think that says it all. No really villa is in a prime postion right by the beach and plenty of bars and resturants if you dont want the 10min walk into town. Derek and mandy the owners are great arranging everthink for you before you arrive transport to and from the airport, the their agent karen very helpfull and always their on hand for you if you need anythink. i would really reccomoned this villa for familys or for a group of mature girls like ourselves for a nice weeks break in the sun, with plenty of drink and food, and no worrys except coming home!!!!!
