A little gem!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this villa from 1st August to 12th August 2015 - two 40-somethings and our 15 year old daughter. The villa is very spacious, immaculately clean and very well stocked with everything you will need during your stay. We didn't need to call on the property managers whilst there, although it was clear from the Visitors Book that they respond quickly when needed. The pool was a welcome sight, particularly when the temperatures reached 40 degrees! A little cool at first, but you soon get used to it and it provides a welcome relief from the heat. A car is needed to get about, although there are a small number of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The villa is incredibly private, not overlooked at all and nestled in the middle of vineyards. We enjoyed the company of a friendly local cat, a real blue-eyed beauty, who visited every morning and was fairly vocal until fed! A British satellite dish was an unexpected bonus, which enabled us to keep up with our soaps! We highly recommend this villa to anyone who wants to feel like they are staying in a 'home away from home' - it really is a lovely place to stay. We will be back!

A lovely house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We were blessed with lovely weather in late September. The locals told us this is typical at the time of year. The house and pool were more than big enough for the three of us . We went on wine tour - they pick you up and drop you back . There are many "caves" in the area - wine co-ops.

We plan to return soon.

Better than home from home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and myself have rented this property twice now; sadly because we have to take holidays at short notice we probably will never manage it again; the house is booked from year to year and all year round! The house is equipped with EVERYTHING you could possible want - more kitchen equipment than I have at home, 3 or 4 times larger kitchen, beautifully comfortable sitting room, DVD library, book library, large satellite TV. Both our visits have been in winter - once at New Year when the area was sparkling with frost, the other at an unseasonably wet Easter. The house is warm and cosy; we are only sad we have not yet tried out the beautiful pool and poolside lounging. The bedrooms are bright, airy and well equipped; the two bathrooms are equally well equipped with a washing machine in one, which is very practical. The linens were spotless and as good, if not better, than ours at home. I cannot think of even one tiny negative to this rental; the guest book says it all, with people returning year after year - the owners hardly get the opportunity to visit. The property is on the outskirts of Sigoule, an amazingly well-equipped village, shops, 2 hairdressers, the wine co-operative and a friendly bar.....the bakers and the newly opened Shopi have come to an agreement; the Shopi buys the bakers' bread products and sells them - where would that happen in England? We heartily recommend the house and the area - full of attractive villages and bastide towns, near the Monbazillac chateau, Bergerac (airport and station) and the owners left full instructions for every single piece of equipment for the untechnical (like us). Many thanks for some beautiful holidays.

Fantastic Home from Home !!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was just as described and more, the surroundings were beautiful and the village of St Cyprien stunning.

The management company the owners used were very helpful and spoke English (Thank God)

I would highly recommend this property to friends and anyone looking for a peaceful relaxing break and is ideal for families.

The property is perfect for visiting all the surrounding areas and their activities,we went canoeing down the Dordogne twice ,we visited the large Market in Sarlat and went to Bergerac for a day perfect!!!!!

From the Owner

We wanted somewhere that was within walking distance of shops, bars and somewhere to eat. Ideally without steps so it suited the both the very young and elderly. The pool was desirable! It provides the a good balance between a rural setting and close to shops, bars and restaurants. It is handily situated for Bergerac which has many large stores, a train station, museums etc

From the Owner

Pool, near to shops. It is a short distance to Bergerac with all its facilities including the airport. I have walked from the airport to the house. The local wine co-op "cave" is a few minutes walk so very handy for a wide range to wine.

  • The house has a lovely shaded area to one side - ideal for Al-Fresco dining and overlooking the vineyard opposite the house. There are gardens to the front, both sides (one with a washing line area), and the pool is completely enclosed with a large patio area. Five sets of French doors make the house light and airy and with it's open plan kitchen everyone can join in with the fun of cooking or relaxing.
