The March 2004 full renovation was updated in December 2013. This 'chambre d'hotel' apartment on the Rue des Tournelles is just a three minute walk from the Place des Vosges, one of the most beautiful 17th century squares in all of Europe. We refer to this 230 square feet ground floor studio apartment as 'le petit bijou' or the 'little jewel'.
The apartment was featured on the Parisian TV magazine show 'Paris Premiere' in April 2004. The local TV Company engaged a well-known Parisian designer and produced the making of a luxury 'pied a terre'. From the demolition of the old, to the haute design of the new, it is an encapsulated history of our Parisian dreams realized.
The renovation is a work of art and features a restored limestone wall, stone tile floors, a very accommodating bathroom, pastel striped painted walls, and the very hip 'kitchoo' cuisine with stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher.
All the furnishings have been selected to accommodate your most comfortable visit to Paris. Everything here is comparable to a luxury hotel except at one/quarter of the cost. The 4 star Pavillon de la Reine Hotel three blocks away charges 500 euros/night for a 150 square foot room and it doesn't come with a kitchen.
The apartment, in a 19th century 'Regency' style building, sits along the quiet rue des Tournelles. In the 17th century, the Marais was home to the most aristocratic families of Paris and 400 years later, little has changed in the architectural feel of this old quarter.
The very narrow rue des Francs Bourgeoise is now filled with 'hip' boutiques, and 'trendy' restaurants and cafes share the buildings of the old Jewish Ghetto along rue des Rosiers, but some of the quieter street like rue des Tournelles look the same as they did over a hundred years ago.
It's a short walk to the Notre Dame or the Louvre, but the Marais is so intoxicating, you could easily spend a lot of your time just enjoying the Place des Vosges, Hotel Sully, Museé Picasso, Museé Carnavelet and carefree walks through the small winding streets.
Services included in the cost are phone calls anywhere in France and in the US, cable TV, English movie stations, free and unlimited wireless Internet, linens, towels. Our bilingual contact will be just a phone call away if you need any help during your stay.
In the apartment will also be our guide to the neighborhood, favorite restaurants, cafes, wine shops, bakeries, and markets.
