Great Things To Check Out in the Area: There are all kinds of things to do right in downtown Brunswick, Maine!

Near the Androscoggin River, you can launch your kayak or boat, fish, ice fish or check out the newly restored walking bridge and see the views on both sides of the river!

The bike and walking path runs right along the river for about 4 miles and gives you a little bit of history along the way. Check out the local theater & cinema scene with live theater from the Maine State Music Theater, Theater Project, Frontier Cafe and the Evening Star.

The mall park downtown offers free ice skating in the winter and a wonderful mix of festivals, outdoor markets and concerts all summer long.

Brunswick is well known for its variety of restaurants, shops, bars, live music, antiques, boutiques and galleries. Walk the beautiful campus of Ivy League Bowdoin College, and check out their Museum of Art and the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum.

Not too far from the center you'll find several beaches, shopping malls & plazas, golf, scenic drives, bowling, camping, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and much more.

It's an absolute must to drive out to the Harpswell Islands, home to many of the local Fishermen. You'll find breathtaking views, wonderful restaurants, fresh seafood, little hidden beaches, Land's End look-out and the Giant Staircase to name a few.

Sip cocktails and soak in the sun on the deck of Cook's Lobster House on Bailey Island, nestled on a little peninsula-sand bar surrounded by water and watch the boats come in with their local catch delivered fresh to the restaurant!

In the other direction you can follow scenic Route 1 up the coast a bit and check out all the little villages along the way, or plan a day at Popham Beach State Park & Fort Popham or Reid State Park, two beautiful beaches on the open Atlantic Ocean.

Photos are Deceiving

  • 1 of 5

We stayed here in the summer and the house was incredibly hot. While the house was not advertised as being air conditioned, it didn't state that many of the downstairs windows didn''t open, there is a tin roof, and that the window fans in the upstairs bedrooms were broken. As another reviewer noted, the backyard area is nowhere near as appealing as in the photos. That is also true of the interior, although we were admittedly influenced by the lack of air inside. The town of Brunswick is very cute, although some side streets are a little sketchy.

run as fast as you can

Please see my full review on We rented for a week with my family. The place is a dump, photos were carefully taken. What they don't show is a tiny (doesn't seat 6) hot tub with broken jets, the fridge in the laundry room, the small smelly and let me say smelly bathroom. Weeds are everywhere, lawn not mowed (front area), not maintained at all..bikes not available and when they were needed a tuneup. grill doesn't work (only two out of four burners)...I could go on and on and on but I'd like to leave this a memory that I would rather forget!!!

Such a beautiful place with private yard & hot tub

  • 5 of 5

The entire house was very comfortable and cozy, even with 6 girls and all the stuff they bring

Enjoy great restaurants within walking distance or prepare a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen - just add the groceries!

I've already recommended this place to my parents and cannot wait to go back again!

A truly romantic place, as described. Near the city center, also close to Freeport and Portland. We really appreciated being welcomed with a bottle of wine, and soft jazz music. Three bicycles at our disposal, spa, all you need to spend quality time !!!
