Romantic Holiday Apartments in the village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Two-bedroom family apartment with balcony

Overview

Property

Updated: 06-Dec-2016
Self-catering apartments suitable for one to six persons

Our holiday flats are situated in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (altitude 800m). The cable cars, ski lifts, and shopping areas are but a short walk away. The village is set in the Bavarian Alps, and has a breathtaking view of Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. The ski slopes are situated at altitudes ranging from 1200m to almost 3000m, the highest pistes being on the Zugspitz glacier, where the ski season begins as early as the beginning of October and closes at the end of April. Garmisch also provides an ideal back-drop for either walking or mountain biking. The historic resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is situated in southern Germany approximately 100km (65 miles) from the attractive city of Munich. It is easily accessible either by car or train. The nearest airports are Innsbruck (60km away in Austria) and Munich. Both feature a regular public transport service to Garmisch.

Walking & Mountain Biking, Paragliding, Hangglidin: In the late spring, summer, and early autumn Garmisch provides a wonderful backdrop for walkers and mountain bikers. Using the network of lifts and cable cars pleasant tours for all ages and abilities can be planned and carried out. From relatively flat walks or rides through the lush alpine meadows or to the Partnachklamm, to demanding and steep climbs for

the more adventurous and experienced; Garmisch Partenkirchen can provide it all.

Culture: Because of its central European situation, as well as excellent road and rail infrastructure, Garmisch is an ideal place from which to enjoy both an Alpine as well as a cultural holiday.

A short drive or bus ride away from Garmisch are Ludwig II’s fairy tale castles, the most famous of which, Neuschwanstein was used by DisneyWorld as model for its own castle.

Other day’s outings include the magical and equally famous Italian city of Venice with its waterways, palaces, churches and galleries, and the Austrian city of Salzburg, birthplace of Mozart.

Shopping: For those wishing to enjoy some quality shopping, Garmisch has a charmingly decorated pedestrian precinct catering for most tastes a well as pockets. Additionally, close by Munich, provides beautiful boutique type shopping as well as large malls. In the month of September a further attraction is Munich’s internationally renowned Beer Festival.

About the Owner

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is my home town. I was fortunate enough to grow up in this attractive place where young people enjoy a tremendous range of outdoor and cultural activities. As an adult I have lived in many different cities across the globe but Bavaria remains my home.

We enjoyed our stay at Haus Hart, and would recommend to anyone needing a comfortable stay in GaPa.

  • 4 of 5

Clean apartment, comfortable beds, and functional kitchen.

The WiFi is insufficient in strength for the upper floors, and they need to install a router upstairs.

Only one key was provided for us, and we requested a second one, as we were 2 couples. This was not available, which caused some logisitcal issues for us. If there is no extra key, then a key lockbox in the hallway could also work, as we found in some other apartments we stayed in on our trip.

The verandah was enjoyable for sitting out of a late afternoon watching the sun disappear from the mountains.

The location and street are quite quiet, yet fairly central. There is a main road very close where you can catch a bus, or its a 10 minute walk to the railway station. At the other end of the street, 5 minutes walk, it is a left turn to the laundry, and another 10 minutes to the supermarkets. Turn to the right and walk 5 minutes to the MarienPlatz main area of town, the main bus stop is there.

I also enjoyed the walks we did from our apartment, just cross the nearby mainroad and join a walk and cycle path to the valley or walk up to the Riessersee for a swim. At the other end of the street, cross and walk a little left, cross the bridge over the Loisach River, either walking along its banks, or in 2 streets further you come to the walking trails which lead up into the hills and forest.

Great location in garmisch

  • 5 of 5

We loved Haus Hart. We had hoped to rent the 2 bed apartment on the second floor, but it had just rented. Marietta accommodated us by arranging two of the lower 1 bedroom apartments for the same price. I think the first floor was actually better as we were able to enjoy the enclosed garden off the patio - complete with an apple tree. The location was wonderful; just a short walk into town. The apartment had the amenities we needed for our short 3 day stay; full kitchen minus an oven, but we were able to cook on the two stove tops. Upon checking in, Marietta was very helpful and offered her suggestions on things to do in the town as well as the surrounding area. I would highly recommend this place to others!

Wonderful clean apartment close to everything!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment during "Ski week" in February. We enjoyed our stay and the quiet of the building. Close to everything, beautiful views of the mountains, and comfortable for a family stay. Only thing that would make it even better would be an option for internet in the apartment. However, the property manager did provide plenty of information about where to find internet cafe's and free wifi in the pedestrian zone of Garmisch. The free local phone calls were a bonus too as it was a super busy week with skiiers and reservations at local restaurants were a must. I would recommend and I would stay again.

Not a good choice

  • 1 of 5

Location was good but room was terrible. The phone didn't work and there were limited plugs (I think 2 total). WiFi password was not provided, even after repeated attempts with manager to get it. She was not available when I arrived to meet with me and refused to give me or meet to give me the WiFi password for over 24 hours (1/2 the time of my stay).
