About this property

Very private coastal home nestled at treetop level yet with dramatic ocean views from every room. House was built and finished October 2010. Light filled house with sky lights, soaring ceilings, floor to ceiling windows with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, Headland Mountains, crashing waves and San Francisco beyond. Huge wrap around deck, private deck off master bedroom with Adirondacks and lounge chair for sunning, relaxing, watching the waves or nighttime stargazing. Hawks and falcons fly overhead as whales and dolphins pass by at various times of the year.

After a day of hiking the endless coastal and mountain trails, watch the moon rise from your living room window seats, enjoy a BBQ on your deck, take a deep bathtub soak to relax, and finally get lulled to sleep at night by the sounds of the crashing Pacific waves and the far off fog horn which escorts boats through the Golden Gate Bridge!

What a View

Unfortunately we only stayed two nights but this house is amazing - the views are spectacular and the house itself is beautifully decorated, very well equipped and spotlessly clean! Sitting on the deck and watching the birds and lovely little deer that visited the garden was just what we needed after a hectic trip up and down highway 1. The walk to the beach is fun - coming back a bit of a challenge! Shame about the power outage which meant our trip to Muir Woods was cancelled but hopefully we will return one day - thank you Beverly.

Perfect beach house. Perfect location.

We stayed at the beach house for 5 nights at the end of a 3 week California vacation. The property is exceptional with wonderful space and light, and very well equipped for a family break. The views from the deck are breath taking, and the wildlife that visits is amazing. We had deer in the garden, humming birds in the flower beds and owls and eagles overhead. The kids particularly enjoyed the blue jay's which would feed out of their hands. The location is perfect. It's 10 minutes to Muir Wood which must be visited before the hoards arrive. We got their for 8:00 and had the trails to ourselves. Sausalito is only 15 minutes away, and you can be in the heart of San Francisco in under 30 minutes. We're already planning a trip to Yosemite and will definitely stay at Bev's beach house again.

A beautiful house with amazing views

The property is wonderful. Very peaceful and relaxing with amazing views. We loved the varied wildlife, particularly raccoons and deer in the garden and whales in the bay below. Very well equipped and beautifully decorated. We would definitely recommend it.

Perfect base for exploring Northern California

Beverly's home was an ideal base for my family's two week vacation in Northern California. The property was appointed with everything we required and my daughters loved the fact they saw some of the local wildlife; highlights being the family of Raccoons, some Deer and a friendly Blue Jay which they adopted. The property itself was very comfortable and it was a delight to listen to the waves crashing below whilst lying in bed. Location wise it worked well for us as it provided easy access to San Francisco and surrounding areas whilst also offering up Sonoma and Napa county for forays into wine country. One word of caution would be the hill up to the property is very twisty and if arriving late at night (as we did) it could be an issue for a less than confident driver. We also had issues with our sat nav taking us past Ahab Drive onto another Charlottes Way which was a dead end. To avoid this I would advise typing Ahab Drive into the sat nav and following Beverly's directions from there. To conclude this property provides magnificent views in a very quiet location and I would not hesitate to recommend.

Wow!

Wow! What a way to end our 3 week trip of the West Coast! Relaxing and beautiful, this place has it all! Bev the Owner was joy to deal with, nothing was too much trouble! Stop reading this and book it! Then when you get here make sure you check out Muir Woods and have a wander through Sausalito, lovely place!

I first moved to Muir Beach in 1996, and knew this community was my heart's desire. I delight in taking advantage of all it has to offer...kayak trips up the coast, full moon mountain biking in the hills, and sunrise hikes to taste the salt air, hear the rushing waves, and see coyotes run the hills if I am lucky. Though family reasons have taken me back east for awhile, Muir Beach feels like my true home.

Why they chose this property

I built this home high on a hillside, hoping for a private setting, and a feeling that I could be 'outside' while indoors. That is just what I have. Sometimes I even need to wear my sunglasses inside on a great sunny day!

What makes this property unique

I named my house 'Aurora', after the Roman Goddess of the Dawn. As my house faces southeast, both gorgeous sunrises and bright full moon rises will greet you over the headlands, and have you awestruck at the beauty that surrounds you. The nicest part about this house is that although you are in a house filled with huge panes of glass that let you see all of the amazing outdoor scenery that surrounds you, you are nestled in the treetops and feel at once very exposed to nature yet tucked away in the most private place around.
