About this property

Secluded Mountain Cabin, Wheelchair/Powerchair Accessible

Adorable privately owned, custom-built log cabin has 1,400+ square feet and is situated on 9 wooded, secluded acres, yet is just 15 minutes from quaint historic downtowns in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, including Blue Ridge. Entering on a specially built ramp (wheelchair and powerchair accessible), the door opens into a large great room with cathedral ceiling. The fully equipped kitchen--microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and panini grill--has a farmhouse table that seats 6. The living room, complete with ceiling fan, is furnished with a large sofa and oversized chair and 48' flat screen HDTV with satellite service, DVR, DVD and wall-mounted stereo speaker system. It opens onto a covered porch that runs the length of the cabin and is cooled by 3 ceiling fans helping the mountain breeze; a perfect place to enjoy the quiet woods while resting in Amish-crafted rockers. Above the living room is a loft furnished with matching twin beds, nightstand and dresser. The master bedroom, furnished with antiques, original art and a queen-sized iron bed, has access to the screened section of the porch through lovely French doors, fitted with adjustable shades for privacy. The bathroom is equipped with a handicap shower with removable shower head, seat and railings. All doorways on the main floor are 36' wide. One side of the furnished basement has a full-size, regulation pool table, air hockey table and two counter-height chairs. The other side has a queen-sized Murphy bed, 37-inch HDTV with built-in DVD player and satellite and DVR service as well as a full bath.

Cozy get away in the woods.
It was a charming place to stay. I loved everything about the little cabin. It was a quite area in the woods. A little off the beaten path. It was easy to get to and close enough to things to do. We had all our meals out and the places we found where great. It was my husband and I, our 3 kids 10,13,15 and my mother in her 70s. Everyone enjoyed the pool table. We wish their had been an air hockey table there. We enjoyed a fire outside one night. The water was ALWAYS hot and we had plenty of towels. There was plenty of cookware and serving and silverware. The coffee pot is a full size pot or K-cup style. You can see for miles and hear nature. We thankfully saw no bears tho 1 of kids was hoping too. I am gald we did not lol. I would like to say a lil FYI... Bring Shampoo, there was hand body wash. Also bring coffee (either style) and cream and sugar. Next trip North we will deff restay. Thank you for a wonderful family trip!!!

Well maintained and comfortable with a homey feel. Enjoyed the view from the porch in the lovely rocking chair! I imagine the magnolia to be magnificent in the spring,

Great place to stay
We recently stayed at this secluded cabin & found it to be spacious, clean & quiet, just as described. It was a great place to use as a home base as it was centrally located with just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Young Harris, Blairsville along with Murphy NC. It's close to many good restaurants such as the Toccoa River Restaurant & all the ones in downtown Blue Ridge as well.

Beautiful cabin -- Great stay
Lovely property...great owners, very responsive and helpful. Cabin was spotless, well equipped kitchen, nice linens. Beds comfortable! I slept on the Murphy bed downstairs and slept well. We really enjoyed our stay! Handicapped Accessibility The cabin itself is handicapped accessible with an entrance ramp and a second ramp onto porch, walk in shower with small lip, shower seat and toilet riser with siderails. Bathroom will just allow wheelchair access and ability to close the door. You may still need bench or transfer board to use shower. The driveway in front of the cabin is loose rocks which is almost impossible for wheelchair or walker user. It is also steep. The paths beside the house down to the fire pit and to the creek path are too steep for wheelchair.
