About this property

This tastefully furnished lodge looking decor, YELLOWSTONE RIVERVIEW RETREAT, is located only 3 miles north from Yellowstone National Park original entrance in Gardiner, Montana. Riverview Retreat is the perfect place for fishing the Yellowstone river for as the Yellowstone river flows thru the back yard, also great for photographers, wildlife enthusiasts, Weddings, or just sitting on the banks of the Yellowstone river and enjoying the tranquility of the river and Yellowstone park across the way.

This house sits on three acres, surrounded by lots of mature trees a huge yard with the back of yard being private, the back yard has a covered gazebo with rock fire place and a deck over the banks of the Yellowstone River, also apple and cherry trees. The house is a 2 bedroom with a king bed in master room, queen bed and bunk bed with bottom bunk a full and top bunk a single. 1 full bathroom with shower tub and 2 sinks with handicap bars in bathtub and at toliet. 1 1/2 bathroom with a toilet and sink at the back door easy to get to from the outside. Large living room with 54 inch TV with satellite. Dining room table sits 8 and a counter bar that sits 3. The kitchen is fully stocked with all amenities, coffee, tea, sugar, spices, flour, ketchup and lots more. I also stock tp, all soaps except hair. Washer and dryer with soap. And bear spray to take with you will your out hiking. The back yard has a deck with table and chairs with barbeque right off the back door. The large back yard is big enough to play soccer in and then the most enjoyable feature is the gazebo with deck over the river. We also have built a concrete dance floor off the gazebo for weddings. This house is a very comfy house and is far enough out of town to not hear all the noise but yet close enough if you need to run in to get some supplies.

At different times of the year you may see different wildlife in the yard such as mule deer, elk, grizzly and black bear and buffalo.

Bucket List Vacation

My Aunt is in stage 4 cancer. She wanted Montana, she wanted peace and serenity. Mrs. Karnes certainly provided all of this for us. Words and pictures could never depict what you experience in this atmosphere. Breath taking beautiful, comfortable home. Warm and friendly. Time enjoyed. Amazing Stay

The views are exceptional. It was so nice to wake up every morning start a fire and drink coffee while listening to the Yellowstone River and glass the mountain for Elk. Every night we had a herd of Elk walk through the property it was amazing. Sandy and Jake we phenomenal hosts. It was my daughter’s birthday and they were kind enough to decorate with decorations I had amazon deliver before we arrived! I can not say enough about the location, property and hospitality! We will definitely recommend to friends, family and will stay again if heading that direction for future vacation!

Great place!

We had a great time, place was clean, comfortable. We loved being right on the river, outdoor fireplace was so nice.We woke up to Elk in the yard the first morning! My daughter told me, it was the best vacation ever!!

Gardiner House

My family stayed 4 nights and we absolutely loved it!!! Location is great, house is great, and host is great. Many thanks to Sandy,Jake and Kayla for the hospitality. If we ever get a chance to go back to Yellowstone the cabin at Gardiner is the place to stay. My son had elk at his window at night!!!

Breathtaking

This stay was magical. The backyard was the highlight of this stay. We were able to see so much wildlife and relax next to the river. On top of that the house and owners were incredibly friendly, and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

This home is a 4th generation family home. Our children have been born and raised in the area, and all graduated from Gardiner schools. I moved to Gardiner, from Northern Idaho, met and married Joe in 1982 (formally deceased). We raised 3 wonderful boys, Jim, Jeff, and Jake. Jim is in the Navy with a family of his own. Wife Elizabeth, 3 children, Katie, William and CJ. Jeff (Navy for 6 years) lives is Olympia, Wa. married to Ryanne With 1 child, Aria. Jake (Marine for 4 years) lives in Gardiner with wife Kayla(just married). We are a very family and friend oriented family. We have supported the town and school of Gardiner with a lot of pride of the area. All our boys have been in 4-h, showing horses, sheep and beef. I worked for Yellowstone Natl. Park for 14 years but now work for Malstrom Airforce base in Great Falls, Mt. as a Motor vehicle and equipment operator. I like to meet new people, and like to make new friends.
