Licensed by City of New Orleans as a short-term term rental 19STR-07924A. This is a historical Greek Revival Cottage built in 1853. It is included as #15 on the Architectural Carrollton Tour Guide. It is conveniently located off of Oak Street a few blocks off of S Carrollton Avenue and 2 blocks from the Mississippi River. Neighbors are friendly and walk to the many different venues daily. Within walking distance, there are wonderful coffee shops, restaurants, plenty of shopping, banks, live music, Trolley cars, supermarkets, nail salons,, hair salons,, seafood restaurants, pharmacy, grocery store Iand much more. There are many items located in this home that are truly antiques. The home is built of cypress. There is hardwood flooring throughout .

The ceilings have been reopened to their original heights of at least 13 feet with 12 and a half-inch crown molding. There are beautiful chandeliers in a few rooms and 60-incho ceiling fans throughout. Now, we have included a 4-tier pineapple water fountain. To hear the flow of the water is truly relaxing.

There are bedrooms on the first floor level.

There is an independent bedroom . The bedrooms consist of the 1800s EASTLAKE BEDS throughout the home, 2 kings,a queen, and 2 doubles (similar to full). There are 3 bathrooms: 2 with a shower and 1 with an antique claw foot bathtub with a handheld shower. The comfortable living room hasa 70-inchh SMART TV with stereo surround sound, DVD/VCR player, and FIRESTICKS.

There are 2 fully equipped kitchens as well as an outdoors PERGOLA.

We are around the corner from the famous Jacques-Imos Restaurant, the Ninja Sushi , the Maple Leaf Bar (live bands perform on different nights) The Blue Crab and the French Gallery. Audubon Park is less than a mile away, and both Loyola University and Tulane University are about a mile away. The French Quarter and business district are just a trolley car away. You can reach your destination in about 7 minutes by car and perhaps 10 to 15 minutes lazy scenic ride by public transportation that display beautiful mansions. The Fairgrounds is also about 10 minutes away. We are centrally located to almost everything.

This lazy laid-back nostalgic home is less than 2 blocks from the Mighty Mississippi River. The guest apartment has been renovated into an efficiency.

This is a perfect home away from home where you can easily access many New Orleans Festivals , The SUPERDOME, THE SMOOTHIE KING CENTER, and DUTCH MORIAL CONVENTION CENTER . New Orleans is a city like no other. Enjoy the architecture, food, free live music, and THE WORLD WAR II MUSEUM ( the second best war museum in the United States, shopping, parades, parks. swamps, The City Ferry ride that crosses the river, also THE NATCHEZ or CREOLE QUEEN PADDLE WHEEL STEAMBOAT that rides up river playing a CALLIOPE and so many other adventures.

We provide a case of bottled water, DOVE, CARESS, OIL OF OLAY, or DIAL soap, laundry detergents, linens (at least 1000 thread )( down and bamboo pillows, towels, paper products (facial and bathroom tissues ,and paper towels), Dawn detergent, fruits (seasonal), games, cards,, pot filler, coffee, tea ,sugar, creamer, grills by request, bathroom air freshener and many other extras.

Our newest item is a SAMSUNG FAMILY HUB refrigerator , it has an app that allows you to shop WALMART online and have your groceries delivered by UBER. The refrigerator has a notepad, a message that tells you history facts, PANDORA, WiFi, Bluetooth , recipes, a VUDU app , movie screen, and a television. And yes, it has additional features.

There are newly installed lights from dusk to dawn for night entrances.
The newly built Pergola has recessed lighting and ceiling fans for your comfort. The wrought iron table and chairs add that nostalgic ambiance of "THE VIEUX CARRE ". Birds enjoy singing, chirping, and chatting from dusk to dawn. My past guests enjoy their morning coffee on the front porch and their evening cocktails under the PERGOLA.

It has been written that the beds are very comfortable. We have high-quality sheets, pillows and comforter. The HVAC was upgraded in 2018.

A walk to the corner reveals various cuisines from around the world, from breakfast to snacks, lunch, dinner, and night-time entertainment.
You can walk, jog, or ride your bicycle on the levee of the Mighty Mississippi River to Audubon Park for cardio.

There are about 250 businesses within a few miles if you want a walking tour.

Have a great stay in New Orleans and make this your home for a weekend as if it were yours. Please remember that this is a residential area.

Well, if we haven't sold you on this property, perhaps you should call us.

Read all reviews-and closely look at pictures.
Contacted owner to request 2 hour early check in (driving from VA ) initial response was rude/abrupt but later she agreed. House over all is cluttered and dusty. Lots of fragile items and multiple cleaning solutions including bleach, soap, poisons in easy reach of toddler ( sitting on floors near sinks, commodes, wash machines). No comfortable seating in living room. Canopy bed had bug skins in it and was so dusty that 2 family members had asthma attacks. ( separate nights - swapped beds) Heaters ( electric fire place x 2) are improperly mounted on walls and are hot to touch- again child they are a hazard. All counters, tables, night stands, furniture is full of others belongings and there was no -lace except the bed to place our belongings. Multiple lanterns, glass pieces, on all reachable spaces. Overall the cleanliness was poor- sticky floors, counters, baths had mold, appeared to be a hoarders house. House was historic and beautiful. If the house had been clean, decluttered and set up for rentals i.e. space for renters belongings- it could have been a beautiful historic experience. I would not recommend this property due to the following: 1. Dirty floors, bathrooms, kitchen 2. No space for belongings- all, dressers, counters, side tables are FULL of owners belongings- it is like a hoarder died and they decided to rent property rather than clean/sell. 3. Multiple dangers for children- at side of washing machine alone there were more than 12 bottles of detergent.

Fantastic
It was awesome. Loved the overall historic elements of the house, location was on point. The host provided welcome gift which consisted of a king cake ( traditional for NOLA) and a fruit basket. The host responded quickly when we had a question.

Mardi Gras in Riverbend
Quaint, lovely yard, 4 bedrooms. Interesting places to eat on Oak Street, plus a bakery and a great used bookstore.

Happy New Year
A great weekend for NYE with friends and family (9 total) we really enjoyed staying Uptown for the first time when visiting the city. Oak street is a great place to enjoy awesome food and some of the best entertainment New Orleans has to offer. The Maple Leaf Bar has great music almost every night of the week and it's just a few steps away from the property. Plenty of comfortable beds, unique antique furniture and New Orleans charm. The ladies really enjoyed soaking in the claw foot bathtub. The gated corner lot was nice and safe, and we enjoyed hanging out under the pergola. The property owners left us fruit and wine as well as sparkling grape juice for a NYE toast and a case of water to drink. We could not have been happier enjoying New Orleans Uptown and ringing in the new year in this awesome property. It is very old and has many of the original features. Beautiful doors, chandeliers, and windows lot's of character and charm. Would definitely book again.
