About this property

La Solana is situated along a small private lane on a pine-clad mountainside 1 km from the picturesque old village of Capdepera. The house overlooks the fishing port and holiday resort of Cala Ratjada, (about 2 kms away), with views of the sea. It is ideal for families and adult groups and those seeking peace and quiet, yet is within easy reach of many shops, fine restaurants and night-life. Nearby are superb sandy beaches and secluded coves, the nearest being 10 minutes walk. There are terraces for both the house and the pool for sunbathing/dining. The property is the private family residence of the owner and is furnished to a very high standard in the traditional style with every modern amenity. A car is necessary, and rental can be arranged with pick-up at the airport, 60 minutes away.
A complimentary CD with audio is available on request.

THE HOUSE: The villa sleeps 6 in three double rooms. However, there is an additional folding bed for an extra person if required. There are also 2 cots, high chair etc. for a baby. The surrounding area is superb walking country, and there is an 18-hole golf course 10 minutes away by car, and further three within 20 minutes.
With the high life only minutes away in Cala Ratjada, this quiet location is perfect for those who seek peace and quiet on their return. There are 4 terraces all perfect for sunbathing/dining outside or simply relaxing. Each has its own charm at different times of the day and year. Some prefer the 2 pool terraces, while others prefer the garden terrace with a wonderful view of the sea. From here you cannot see another house, only the green of the pines and the myrtle. The only thing to disturb your peace is the birdsong and the chirruping of cicadas in summer. There is a sun lounge with superb views of the bay-great for relaxed reading and catching the winter sunshine.

GOLF INFORMATION: La Solana is ideally situated for a golfing holiday and you will be spoiled for choice. There are three 18 hole and one 9 hole courses all within 20 mins drive. All are superbly maintained and offer a wide variety of challenging and interesting golf.
CAPDEPERA GOLF (8 mins drive-18 holes)
A very attractive mountain setting,and a well balanced layout offering some long holes with wide fairways and some short ones offering a very small target. An impressive clubhouse offers a warm welcome.

MORE COURSES: CAÑAMEL GOLF CLUB (10 mins drive-18 holes)
An interesting and varied course; well worth the visit. An interesting feature is the old farmhouse left on the 9th. Greens, fairways and trees are noted for their quality.
PULA GOLF (12 mins drive-18 holes)
A new course offering very comfortable facilities. Relatively flat, and offering a variety of differently styled holes. Spectacular views towards nearby mountains.

The perfect holiday!

This was part honeymoon/part holiday. We took my 3 offspring and my son's girlfriend to celebrate our wedding and also the end of university for my daughters. From the start I found Tony to be the perfect villa owner. Before we went he called me to help clarify matters and was in touch when ever I needed. We drove from the airport to the villa and when we arrived we were just blown away by how beautiful it was. We could tell that a lot of love has gone into the furnishing and decoration of the villa and everywhere we looked there were little details. The location is perfect - so peaceful and quiet and yet only a short distance to drive to the nearest village which had shops, a few bars and restaurants and a lovely beach. In the other direction there is Cala Ratjada which is larger and has lots of shops, a very trendy harbour area and masses of fabulous restaurants. Less than 10 minutes' drive away is the castle in Capdepera and this is a lovely old town which is worth a visit. Back at the villa there are 3 terraced areas so you can always find the sunshine and there are plenty of sun loungers which we used round the pool. If you are fed up of the sun, the living room and dining room are really comfy and spacious and have superb view of the countryside leading to the sea and there are views of the boats in the distance. Actually - words cant describe how lovely it all was. I thoroughly recommend staying here. You really will not be disappointed.

Solana

We have just returned from our 10 day holiday at La Solana and the whole family, including the Grandparents had a great holiday. The pool was fantastic and the range of terraces meant you could lie in the sun or sit in the shade depending on how you felt. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was ideal for a good nights sleep. We spent many mornings at Cala Agulla beach (we found 2 beach umbrellas in the laundry which we found very useful) which was great for the kids, but got very busy. The villa is in an ideal situation having beaches, restaurants and supermarkets a very short drive away.

La Solana is a must

When we arrarived at La Solana, it was late, so we were delighted to find milk, water and even, Champagne in the fridge! We had a really wonderful stay at this very spacious, comfortable and clean villa. What gave it a very nice feel, all the family possessions and photographs throughout the Villa giving a feeling of sharing their home. It is very well equipped. My family from the oldest 84 to baby 8 mnths thoroughly enjoyed all the facilities from the swimming pool to table tennis and just relaxing. A wonderful sandy cove 15 minutes walk along the road, but would say a car is a must. We stayed for 10 days, not long enough, we all wanted to stay longer, the time just flew by. We will be back!

The owner Tony provided excellent directions and additional information. Very clean, delighted previous occupiers left us a bottle of fizzy and water in the fridge - we did the same. The reality was better than the photos. Morning sunrise directly into the dining room, the terraces are well laid out for sunbathing throughout the day. The laundry room was well equipped and contained lilos, floats, water pistols and balls. The rear courtyard had a table tennis table. The hot weather of 30 degrees was no problem with frequent dips in the pool. The wireless broadband was most useful. The best restaurant was La Fragua in the local town of Capdepera adjacent to the main square in Carrer del Pla d'en Cosset, an Argentinean Chef, cooking Argentinean beef steaks, most excellent! The wine description of having criminality was most intriguing. We returned twice during the week and were not disappointed. A wonderful break which we hope to repeat.
