Charming 1930's cottage on approximately 5 acres studded with redwoods.

This cottage is approximately 1800 sq. ft. and has a view of Mt. Diablo. It is all 1 level with 1 step up from the dining area.The third bedroom is set up as a den with queen sofa bed, laundry area and television. There is a lovely private yard with fountain. There are 2 fireplaces, wood floors and knotty pine walls.

There are 2 bathrooms, one with shower and the other with shower over tub. Additionally, there is a dining room with fireplace and view . The cottage is private and set well away from the main house. It shares use of the pool, hot tub and outdoor entertainment area(kitchen, fireplace, bath and waterfall) with the main house. You are surrounded by redwoods and oaks. The property has a 'Zen' like feeling. When you drive down the driveway you feel you are out in the country, yet you are only minutes from downtown Oakland and SFO. Wildlife abounds. Hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are nearby. A perfect place to unwind.

Fantastic stay!

Host was wonderful. Property setting just lovely, beautiful views, very private, beautifully situated. Close to amenities. Home cozy and rustic. Highly recommend.

Lovely Grounds

Very relaxing. This has to be one of the more beautiful locations in terms of the grounds. The house is real old and quirky and can use some updating. There is no central heat but the space heaters work well. However, some rooms will be warmer than others. The owner provides firewood to use in the cozy fireplace. The views are fantastic and the pool area is lovely. The estate centers on tone of the largest and oldest trees I have ever seen. The grounds are just gorgeous. The shower is great. The house could use some updating. But the outside barbecue area is perfect.

Relaxing Stay, Great Location

Beautiful location for this cozy cottage, looking out over the hills and also beautiful grounds. Susan was a terrific host, greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. Perfect getaway; really felt like we were out in the country, but just a quick five minutes and we were in the city! We didn't use the hot tub, but hope to be back in the future to use that and the pool.
