About this property

Typical Canarian house in authentic village at the sea, without mass tourism

The house’s character brings the typical Canarian charm to life. The rooms’ appearance is bright and clear with throughout light floor tiles, purist but cozy furniture and harmonic colors.
All bedrooms have windows. For max. 5 people: 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room on 110 sqm, roof terrace with BBQ and sea view on 50 sqm. Embedded in the joyful and (almost) carefree atmosphere of an old fishing village. 100 m to the sea, you reach 3 picturesque beaches in 2-5 min.

THE VILLAGE LA JACA

>> Best climate
La Jaca is in Tenerife’s sunny south – the weather is good, temperatures are mild also in winter time and at night, it rains only about 15 days per year.
Air temperatures summer ca. 25°C, winter ca. 20°C.
Water temperatures Atlantic summer ca. 23°C, winter ca. 18-20°C.
With the Passat, it is windy often – not necessarily every day. But the wind is warm and the village offers many beautiful places especially built to protect you from the wind, e.g. plateaus at the beaches.

>> Far from mass tourism
La Jaca is pretty and authentic village far from the general tourism. The village has developed naturally with small streets and every house looking differently. There are 3 bars/restaurants and 1 mini market.
The former fishing village today is mostly owned by Tinerfeños (Tenerife’s inhabitants). They spend their free time here at the ocean. By this the village is quiet on weekdays and livelier on the weekends. During summer, sometimes fiestas with life music take place.
There are no hotels, no through traffic. Despite to good traffic connection, you do not hear the autopista and airplanes – if at all – only at far distance.

>> Sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, Yoga
La Jaca’s cost line is picturesque with its rocks and beaches. You can find especially many and varied swimming spots and decide where to go according to wind and waves. The three beaches and the seawater pool with their naturally flat zones are save for kids. Swimmers can also enter the ocean via comfortable stairs or several ladders from the rocks. Snorkelling is fun: the water is very clear, offers good visibility, there are many fish and exciting rock formations to discover.
You reach all beaches / swimming spots within 2-5 min walk.
2 min from the house there is a smooth flat rock formation above the sea: a perfect spot for your individual Yoga practice.

>> Walking, hiking, jogging
Right from the door you can start great walking, hiking, jogging tours over the cost line, through diverse landscapes with lava fields, rock formations and barrancos (canyons) etc.

>> Excursions
Tenerife is well developed and accessible. You can discover the whole island in daytrips via the autopista. You reach all destinations within max. 1.5 hours and have enough time for sightseeing, shopping, hiking etc.
The next autopista exit is 1.2 km (via Rapsol fuel station).
There is 1 bus station in La Jaca. At Rapsol fuel station, there is the bus station for TITSA busses going on the autopista (to airports, ferry harbours, Los Christianos, Santa Cruz, etc.)

>> Airport Tenerife South / TFS
All rental cars are directly in front of the airport.
From airport TSF to La Jaca: 16 km, ca. 13 min.

Ruhige Gegend
Top Haus, top Aussicht. Wenn man sich an ein paar Kleinigkeiten gewöhnt hat (z.B. Toiletten) war es echt gut. Trotz weitem Weg zur Bushaltestelle waren wir doch halbwegs mobil.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft in toller Umgebung

About the host

Hosted by Peter & Friederike

Host profile image
We live in the metropole of Berlin and love the small village of La Jaca. With this house, we brought our dream to life and spend there as much time as possible.

We carefully save the charm of the old house and its authentic character, with cosy furniture for us and our guests. We like it pure, reduced but tasteful.

Why they chose this property

We think the house is perfectly located: embedded in the old village and only 100 meters to the shore. Of the interior we like the light floor tiles throughout the complete house (no wild pattern-color-mix as in many Spanish houses) and of course the ocean view from the roof terrace.

What makes this property unique

The village of La Jaca is an ideal place to relax and recover – far from mass tourism but in the center of the country’s typical culture and nature. There are many beautiful places to swim in the sea. Further La Jaca is a convenient starting point for excursions all over the island.
