Simply stunning

A lovely, well-equipped house in an amazing location. My grown up children are hard to impress but this place did make their jaws drop! We were very lucky with the weather and were able to have a few days of complete relaxation with a bit of leisurely kayaking to try and photograph the neighbourhood turtles. Hot tub was great - once it had cooled down a bit - phew! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Can't beat it

We booked this property as part of a 4 week tour of the East of the US and it was absolutely perfect. I cannot fault the house, the location and the welcome. Sitting beside the river in the evening was such a delight and seeing the wildlife on the river was amazing. The house is spotless, and comfortable. We found we could walk for 20 mins upstream to the launch point and put our tubes in the water and float back down stream to the house - about a 40 min trip- divine! I would happily go back again. There is also a delightful cinema in the town - check out the different screen rooms all themed. I have to say seeing 6 bears on our trip (after none in Canada) really made the trip for me.

Amazing place

This cabin has everything we needed, is clean, peaceful, near the river, and communication with the owner was fast and accurate. We definitely come back on fall. I extremely recommend this to anyone needs a relax!

Great time

The house was perfect for our family. Plenty of room and clean. It was great waking up to the views of the river and mountains. Just a short drive to Luray caverns. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would stay again.

The River House

This was our second visit to The River House and we had a great get away. The house is well equipped with all you need. Anne is very gracious and quick to respond to questions. This is a good choice for a very relaxing adventure.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property so we could spend time here and share it too! Our kids are growing up fast and we realized the need to show them more than the suburban environment they live in. Luray has so much to offer: Luray Caverns, hiking, tubing, kayak/canoeing, mountain biking, campfires, Skyline Drive, not to mention all the stars! It's truly a great way to reconnect with your family and yourself.

What makes this property unique

There is not one home on the rental market in Luray that has better river views than we do. Our house is 30 feet from the riverbank. Step out the door and you are there.
