About this property

Chalet in a magnificent mountain landscape in the middle of Triglav National Park

Chalet Tricorno is located in the upper part of the Radovna valley in the middle of Triglav National Park. With its location, it is a good starting point for hiking and mountain climbing in the Julian Alps. It is also close to the trout-rich Radovna River and Kreda Lake.

The house was renovated in 2019 as far as possible. The house is very popular with families with children, as it has plenty of space inside and outside, it is easily accessible and a great base for exploring the sights of the Slovenian Highlands u. a. Bled, Kranjska Gora and Planica.

The chalet is about 20 minutes driving distance between Bled and Kranjska Gora. The motorway junction Karawanken Tunnel (border between Austria and Slovenia) is only 15 minutes away. Public connections are in Mojstrana (bus) and Jesenice (train).

The chalet is located in a quiet environment surrounded by woods and meadows. No traffic! From the house south direction offers an open view of the Pokljuka mountain range with peaks over 2000m. The Radovna valley is located in the northwestern part of Slovenia within the Triglav National Park.

The house is used most of the time by our family and sleeps 4 people. Other people can be accommodated upon request. The exterior of the chalet follows the traditional look of the Slovenian highland houses, with individual elements which in particular provide ample light and great views to the outside. The interior of the house follows the local materials and is thus made of wood, brick and stone. The house has two floors. The ground floor has the entrance area, the kitchen and dining area, the lounge area with open fireplace and the bathroom and a storage room. The access to the upper floor leads via a staircase and leads you to two bedrooms, one south facing another towards north. Around the house are forest and meadows. The house is still the shed, which serves as a storage room and in the summer can also accommodate another 2 people.

The nearest restaurant is the Psnak in Radovna. The nearest shops (open Mon to Sun) can be found in about 4km away Mojstrana. Other shops can be found in Jesenice, Kranjska Gora and Bled. From Radovna you can reach the main venues of the most famous winter sports competitions in about half an hour by car: the Ski World Cup in Kranjska Gora (Feb or March), the Biathlon World Cup on Pokljuka (Dec) and the final in Planica (March). All these places offer between December to March also opportunities for recreational winter athletes. In Mojstrana you will find the Slovenian mountaineer museum. Other museums can be found in Jesenice and the capital Ljubljana, which can be reached in less than an hour by car.

Guests have full access to the main house, the basement, the shed and the garden. Parking for up to 3 Fahrzuge are available at the house.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to explore the area with 2 on-site mountain bikes. In winter, cross-country skis are available as needed.

The host can assist you with recommendations on local attractions as well as excursion stops in the Julian Aplen.

A house full of character in a lovely setting
We loved staying here. It was in a beautiful setting, looking out across a mountain valley, and very quiet and peaceful. The area is rich in flowers and wildlife. After a day of walking it was a pleasure to return to our comfortable house, well equipped and attractively recently refurbished. For us, the things we will remember most are the peace and quiet, the wonderfully dark nights, mountain flowers and birdsong; and the pleasure of returning to our lovely little house each day. Klemen was really helpful as a host, giving us great advice on places to walk and visit, and always available if we needed him.

Gorgeous getaway
Klemen was very helpful before we arrived, and gave us a very warm welcome. He had lots of information for us, told us about interesting places to visit in the area, and slightly further. The house is cozy, quiet and has anything we needed. Big windows look out onto the divine location a pasture of cows with the mountains in the distance. Good walks close by; great local restaurant a 10 minute walk away; and access to anything more you need a short drive. Beautiful place to stay in a beautiful country.

Why they chose this property

Perfect location to explore the Triglav National Park. Family friendly chalet as you have the whole house and the garden for yourself, away from roads and traffic, surrounded by forrest and meadows. Recomenden for people that like to hike and explore even more adventouros trails in the Julian Alps. Located close to the lake Kreda and the Radovna river it offers fly fishing experience on top level. People that look for relaxing, great views and unspoiled nature will definitely feel great in our chalet.

What makes this property unique

No traffic, pure nature, close to water and a whole house and garden for yourself. Along the Bled-Kranjska Gora bike trail for those who like biking.
