About this property

Comfortable beach villa by the sea, 6.5 hours Direct flight from Frankfurt

The Yellownose House is located directly on a 350m long private beach with a view of the river delta. From the beach, it's easy to pull the kayak into the sea or fish for dinner with a large family Canadian. Because of the special location at the mouth of the river in the Atlantic, no fishing license is required. The large sandy beach and the sheltered shallow bay at the house is particularly suitable for children. If this house is occupied, there is the identical "Bluenose House" next door, also for holidays together. Please ask. We are also happy to undertake fishing trips in our motor boat or sailing boat trips with instructions (if desired).
The special thing about this house is the location without a view of electricity pylons, wind turbines etc. You are completely private to yourself and yet there is a hospital a few minutes away (which is usually associated with long journeys to this region) and a 15-minute drive is Port Hawkesbury, the "capital" of Cape Breton. On You Tube you will find videos and aerial photos of the "Yellownose House"

End of summer getaway
I stayed at the Yellownose with my husband and two teenagers and it was everything we were hoping for! Very much off the beaten track but a good base for exploring Cape Breton Island. We loved being at the end of a private lane on our own little point of land, swimming off our own pebble beach, and admiring the gorgeous view from the beautiful deck. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Our only small constructive suggestion would be improved airflow in the loft, which was very hot; but the main floor gets a lovely breeze. We would definitely stay here again.

Off the beaten path
The wife was looking for someplace secluded and she found it here. The place was nice and clean. Not much to do but walk the beach which was close and private. The ad should have in bold letters there’s no TV, cellular coverage is very poor and the included internet is weak and spotty. The building is located on the coast but for most of the property you would not know it. Trees are overgrown and block the views of the water except for a couple spots on the deck and from the loft upstairs. It’s is in need of some TLC outside. Property manager stopped by, nice guy, nothing he can do about the overgrown property as it’s owned by someone else who doesn’t want any trees cut. I understand the issues with coastal erosion but you are paying for views that don’t exist.

Relaxing Getaway
The Yellownose house was such a good find and exactly what I needed. It is waterfront and surrounded by woods. It was incredibly relaxing. If you’re looking to get away from hustle and bustle and be in nature then this is the place. I would definitely come back. Bob was also very helpful in giving recommendations for things to do in the area.

We (an experienced skipper couple) came across the Atlantic and immigrated in 2012. We love to explore the numerous dreamy bays, swim and get our dinner ourselves, fishing mackerels and collecting mussels.
We don’t offer standard vacations. We love to share our enthusiasm and joy and want to cooperate with you to understand your needs and wishes and to tailor the best possible experience, on our Trimarans as well.
We can, for example, admire the beautiful bald eagles flying above us and the stunning sunsets.
Do not hesitate to talk to us if we dropped our anchor in our favorite anchorage nearby and have time for your and our stories....
