Luxury and tranquility
The property is stunning and the photos really do not do it justice. From the moment you approach the front gate, through the huge front door and out into the rear deck/garden, you cannot help but be impressed by the grandeur and space this house affords you.
The facilities easily accommodate 10 people in 5 bedrooms and there is enough space and living areas for a large group to avoid being on top of each other. The basement with its dartboard in the bar and table tennis table in the garage were very popular with the children.
The kitchen is not huge, but has everything you need, including an American fridge-freezer for those all-important drinks and ice creams and the gas BBQ got plenty of use – there are several large supermarkets in Miami Platja to stock up in.
The outdoor space, with its larger-than-average pool is beautiful and peaceful and even if you don’t play golf at the neighbouring resort, the adjacent fairways provide an even greater impression of space and solitude and guarantee privacy. There are no overlooking properties.
The house is a bit out of the way but not remote but you will need a car - about 15-20 minutes from Miami Platja, which has a nice beach which never got crowded, even though we were there in the school holidays and touristy Cambrils (25 minutes) and beautiful Tarragona (35 minutes) are within easy reach. The roads are good and really quiet. The mountains are only about an hour away if you want a sightseeing tour for a change.
Hans is a great host – communicative through the booking process and always on hand when you’re there. Check-in could not have been easier, needing only a short telephone call to say we were almost there and despite the late hour caused by our delayed flight, we were welcomed by he and his wife to hand-over and give us the tour.
He gave us some great tips on local places to visit and eat and was always friendly when he came to clean the pool regularly.
In all, a relaxed 10 days in a luxurious great location that lived up to our expectations.
