High quality accomodation in a lovely part of the Schwarzwald.
We arrived late on Saturday night from Italy, and after a long drive it was nice to find such a great apartment. Even though it was after 11pm Kevin greeted us and said that we should make ourselves at home and use all of the facilities and grounds. Waking up the next day to the sound and view of the river and mountains made the long journey worthwhile, the kitchen we found to be fully equipped and the beds where comfortable, in 3 nicely sized bedrooms. The bedroom at the front is double aspect with great views and my oldest daughter was really happy in this room. More than anything the apartment was spotlessly clean and the fittings and furnishings where to a high standard, water pressure and temperature in the showers was good, clean wooden floors throughout and an induction hob which was a pleasure to cook with. The owners, Kevin and Martina, live in the property and where on hand to provide advice about the local area, because we arrived late on Saturday night they gave us some essentials for breakfast as there are no shops outside of a local petrol station open to sell food on Sundays. We are from London so this was a bit of a surprise. The property is on a long curving road which is public but is more like a driveway, our 3 children loved riding the children's carts down the driveway and we were not concerned with traffic as it was so light and the visibility of the children very good. We also swan in the small River Alb about 50m from the apartment, and my wife and I ran to the local town (Saink Blaisen) and back, a route of about 10K. There are not any restaurants or bars within walking distance, there is, however, a barbeque and fire pit available, and Kevin provided some firewood one night and we sat outside and burned some wood. The southern Black Forest is a lovely area, with the Titisee and Feldburg within an easy and enjoyable drive. The information in the apartment was top quality and lead us to a great and inexpensive local brewhouse, as well as giving lots of other information. What a great place, coffees on the balcony in the morning where also a highlight for me.

Amazing property, stunning location and great hosts
We stayed at Martina and Kevin's apartment on our first visit to the Black Forest in August. We were blown away by the stunning location of the property. You get the best of both worlds - the local town is busy with some great cafes and convenient supermarkets, yet you balance this with a calm and peaceful retreat as the property is surrounded by stunning forest. There is also a pleasant stream running past the property. The apartment itself is finished to a high standard and was very comfortable. Martina and Kevin were great hosts. They were extremely helpful and were there whenever we needed, yet they didn't impose on our holiday. Such a lovely couple who have clearly taken pride in renovated their apartment to a brilliant standard. Comfy beds and lovely hot showers to soothe after a long day exploring the forest. Thanks for the perfect stay!!

Fantastic house in lovely Black Forest valley
Kevin and Martina are lovely and considerate hosts. They welcomed us into their home, where we had the whole of the spacious ground floor apartment - 3 large bedrooms, a comfortable lounge with window seat, two bathrooms with showers and toilets, plus kitchen and balcony. Beautifully and recently decorated throughout, we could have happily spent a lot of time relaxing in the apartment and their surrounding land - riverside and forest walks with a small lake nearby. However, having chatted to Kevin, we followed his recommendations for excellent days out in (Day 1) Todtnau (fun on the Hasenhorn coaster then a short drive to the amazing waterfalls) followed by an evening of water slides in the Galaxy part of the Badesparadies in Titisee (Day 2) Train from nearby Seebrugg to Freiburg - a beautiful small city reached by a 50 min train ride past lakes and villages, with lunch in the Feierling Brewery. The Munster square is particularly special. We returned north to Luxembourg via the stunning town of Breisach and the stunning medieval fortified village of Riquewihr to buy boxes of Gerwurtztraminer from the Zimmer family. A great trip. The location of the house, beauty of the house and area and welcome of the hosts who are fluent in German and French (and more) were all superb.
