Our beautiful villa lies just a few minutes from the beaches (Cap Chevalier, Cap Macre and Les Salines). It has a private garden, pool, huge terrace and a big living room. It is fully equipped with mostly hardwood furniture and features high speed Internet access (WLAN or via Ethernet), free incoming phones, free local phone calls, satellite TV, a 50" 1080p LCD TV, printer, scanner, Windows 8.1 tablet and an audiophile stereo system. There is plenty opportunity to connect your devices (iPod, iPad, Android, Windows). A tablet is provided for your basic communication needs and even Netflix is up and running.
It is ideal for a couple, a small or larger family or one to four couples.
The lush, big garden is surrounded by trees and bushes. Depending on the season you can pick your own limes, grapefruits, manadrins, bananas, passion fruit, prune de cither, papaya, coco nuts, corossol and others with names you probably have never heard of.
Photovoltaic solar panels with battery backup not only protect against (unfortunately common) power outages, they also provide for an environmentally friendly vacation. The sun also provides for warm water (solar water heating).
A new kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless appliances just has been installed.
Auto: Martinique really requires the use of an automobile; public transportation is bad or non-existent and taxis are expensive. We recommend a rental car. We can arrange for airport transfers and rental cars with a local car rental company.
Getting there: From Europe, there are many daily non-stop flights from Paris Orly and seasonally from Marseilles with Air France, Air Caraibe, or Corseair.
Martinique can be reached from the States via Puerto Rico with American Airlines or via Guadeloupe with Air France.
From South America there are flights via Cayenne, French Guiana on Air Caraibe.
There are some options to fly from Canada non-stop to Guadeloupe and from there with Air France or Air Caraibe to FDF (Martinique). There might be upcoming non-stop flights between Canada (probably Montreal) and FDF.
Other Caribbean islands are also connected with non-stop-flights (St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, Dominica).
Ferry service exists to Dominica, Guadeloupe, and St. Lucia.
Cabin charters on sail-catamarans exist (to St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines).
Windsurfing and Kiting: Martinique and especially the beaches around Cap Chevalier (in walking distance from the house) are perfect for kiting and windsurfing. A kite and windsurf school exists. The wind is usually on-shore and particularly consistent from November through May (trade winds).
