The Old Dairy House Mas Noel St Cyprien J Willcock

  • 5 of 5

The property is welcoming and comfortable. Our stay was wonderful and the ambiance of the property is fantastic. We had three teenagers with us and they had a fantastic time. The surrounding area and restaurants are magnificent. Julie is very welcoming and there is a feeling of being at home. The scuba diving evening put on by Julie was great. Really did not want to come home and are considering this area for later on when we sell our property in England. Thanks Julie.

Our host help us in every way from getting us from the airport to providing us with a bike so that we could go and do some shopping quickly. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Couldn't have asked for more.

Very charmful place to discover ..

  • 4 of 5

Very friendly place to be with children. Many activities are offered, the houses are confortable with a sense of privacy and the location is perfect to visit the beaches and natural parks, explore the country side or go to the city. At the same time, the owners are very open to share their knowledge about the area.

The welcome with a fresh glass of "rosé" wine is very appreciated.

Lovely property, lovely pool, very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice week here. Lovely properties round a central courtyard area and a really nice pool. Tried swims in the sea a couple of times, but was very cold, so ended up spending more time by the pool where the water was much warmer, even though not heated. Also had it to ourselves most of the week. There were five of us, my wife and I, our son and his girlfriend and our daughter who is working in the area, and there was plenty of room for us. Also a nice sitting out area, sometimes sunny, sometimes shady. The owner, Julie, was very nice and very helpful with information when we asked. Useful being able to use the bikes provided to go the nice bakers nearby. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely holiday

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic place for a holiday! The owner, Julie, and her family were lovely and so helpful if we needed any information. Julie also made up aware of things going on in the area, and we watched a fantastic air-show from St Cyprien Beach, and also a wonderful Firework display - all for free! We loved the Appartment, and the general easy going nature of Plas Noell. It was great to be able to borrow the bikes to go into the village and get our croissants each morning. Even picked blackberries from the hedgerows! Nice to have other families there with children to play with ours, but equally nice not to have hundreds of children running around. The pool was lovely, and the kids had a scuba-diving lesson there which was great - as was the refreshments provided by Julie for the evening. We hope to go back next year, and I would recommend this place to anybody, with or without children, and it is very tranquil and peaceful, and really close to lots of lovely places to visit. Tres Bien!

Lovely site & great facilities but needs tidy-up

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks in August in a 2-bedroom ground floor apartment which was spacious and easy to keep cool (especially with the very effective air conditioning). Mas Noell is in a fairly remote location so it was generally very quiet. There is not really anything within walking distance so your own transport is essential to get anywhere. Supermarkets and boulangerie etc. are only 5-10 minutes drive away. We enjoy the freedom of self-catering, so it was great to have a large and well-equipped kitchen with lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses to avoid washing-up every 5 minutes. The most enjoyable aspect of Mas Noell was the space and free facilities. Our two boys (aged 8 & 11) were able to play around the site without us worrying where they were or asking for Euros to pay for things. The pool area was nice, with a good size pool deep enough to dive in. Other free facilities - trampoline, pool table, table football, table tennis, Sky TV (although it seemed only Sky News was ever available), bikes, plus washing machines, ironing facilities, big washing line - and all free of charge to use. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere on the site, with the host, Julie, and her family/friends living there and being great hosts, but not intrusive. Julie organised one or two social events for guests (for a very reasonable extra charge) around the pool area and cooked some delicious food. She also provided some helpful information about the local area and events (such as the firework display on Aug 15 Bank Holiday). The only real criticism we have is that the whole site (including the apartment) generally needed a bit more maintenance and generally tidying-up. There were a few broken things in the apartment (which Julie dealt with promptly when reported), but also broken/damaged equipment in the games room, overgrown greenery etc. Nevertheless, these were minor things and didn't at all spoil our overall enjoyment. Highly recommended!

Situated on the plain nestling at the foot of the Alberes mountains, St Cyprien is a picturesque village located between Perpignan and Argeles sur Mer and is has its own beach and marina.

The area is famous for its wine production and also produces wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables. Predominantly based around agriculture and tourism, the local area has masses to offer the holidaymaker, whether you are looking for an active holiday, or would just prefer to relax around the pool.

Market towns abound, and the area is within driving distance of Andorra and Spain is a short drive down the beautiful coast.

The food is delicious and typically Mediterranean, with countless restaurants and bars offering both local specialties and more well-known dishes.

Some places of note are Collioure and Elne, just a stone's throw away which was the capital of roman Rousillon. Enjoy!
