The best weeks of the year should be something special. Therefore, let yourself be captivated by the beautiful mountains of the National Park Schoenau am Koenigssee. Even many prominent guests and kings of Bavaria preferred this location at the foot of Watzmann. The famous phrase of the famous writer Ludwig Ganghofer 'Whom God loves, he drops in this country`s speaks volumes. Excellent family apartment

Lovely clean apartment. Exactly as shown in photos. We had a fantastic time. Lovely views of the Jenner. Königsee 20 minute walk. Would definitely go back. Michael very welcoming and helpful, speaks good English.

Great Little Place For Visiting The Berchtesgaden National Park

Immaculately kept 3 bedroom apartment with sun terrace, garden and mountain views - this holiday let was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were met on arrival by Michael who was always available by phone if there were any questions. The apartment is in a great location away from the very busy areas of Schonau (near the lake) but still within walking distance of restaurants if you want to eat out and still have a drink or two. The Jolly Pizza did excellent takeaways and the bakery around the corner was great for fresh bread and croissants every morning. We visited the Konigsee boats and walked to the Rothbach falls past Obersee, spent an afternoon in the swimming pool in the village (very good), walked up to the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagles Nest) instead of taking the bus, walked the Almbacklamm Gorge and visited the Watzmann Therme twice (on the rainy days). Also a must is the Salt Mine tour in Berchtesgaden - the kids loved the train/slides/boat and funicular and there were audio guides provided in English. It was a shame that the Jennerbahn was shut for a total rebuild but there was still plenty more to see and do in the area including the ride up on the seilbahn from Berchtesgaden to the summer toboggan ride. The guest cards were useful for discounts on some of the attractions. In short, this was a lovely apartment in a super location for the Berchtesgaden National Park. 5 Stars - Thank You Michael!

Lovely holiday apartment

Well-presented holiday apartment in excellent location. The owner lives nearby and was very welcoming. He also speaks good English which made up for our lack of German. The property is modern, well-maintained and very clean with just about everything you could need for your stay. The views of the mountains are beautiful, changing throughout the day according to the time and weather. The property is in an excellent position between Berchtesgaden and Konigsee but in a quiet location. Within easy walking distance is a bakery and several restaurants, the closest being Grünsteinstüberl where we had a decent meal on our first evening although it was definitely service with a scowl! It is also easy to reach Salzburg from the property which is about 30 minutes away. There is a direct bus service from Berchtesgaden to Salzburg or we used the Park and Ride Süd in Alpenstraße which cost €14 for 4 people to park and ride. We took the Eagles Nest historical tour from Berchtesgaden which was excellent, we also took the boat across Königssee to Salet and walked to Obersee to swim which was will worth it, although get going early in the summer to avoid the crowds. We spent a day up the Jenner which provides stunning views from the top although recommend that if you intend to stop at the middle station, do it on the way up. We made the mistake of stopping on the way down and had to queue for about an hour for the cable car at the end of the day as all the cars were full with people riding down from the top. The Watzmann therme was also worth visiting and wasn't at all crowded on the day we went so made for a relaxing day. The weather was fantastic during our stay around 30 degrees most days. All in all a great holiday.
