Superb, really comfortable ‘home from home’ stay.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed four weeks and totally happy with Helen’s lovely well equipped cottage. The welcome treats for the New Year were a nice touch, and kitchen basics much appreciated. Fabulous location by the river, scenic views all round and lots of healthy dog walks. We parked in lower Horseshoe Falls car parking bay and walked the dogs on the towpath into Llangollen, a beer and coffee, then return leg. - 2 miles each way. Beautiful drives out to explore the amazing landscape and coast. If you visit Portmeirion go on a sunny bright day to experience it at it’s best. Loved the welcome at the nearby Sun Inn. We would stay again.

Fall asleep to the sounds of the Dee River flowing below the property

  • 5 of 5

Lovely rural setting above the river. Very comfortable for 4 or 6. We did not take advantage of the outdoor fire pit because it was a little cool. Inside was nice and cozy with a fully stocked kitchen for home cooking. After two weeks of hotel food we really appreciated the opportunity to dine in with a well equipped kitchen in which to prepare our meals.

Lots of fun things to do in the area from castles to trout farms to Horseshoe Falls, a world heritage site.

Beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for two nights with friends. We were met by Helen who was most helpful. The location was perfect for us, plenty of walks on your doorstep and a pub to retire to with local beer and home cooked food yards up the road.

The cottage has been renovated to a very good standard and was more than big enough for us all. The cottage and the garden allow you to relax in peace. We are already planning a return trip!

Pre-Christmas Family Break

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing location and an equally amazing property. We stayed here as a pre-Christmas getaway with our children so that we could go on the Santa Express at the nearby Llangollen Steam Railway. Upon arrival we noticed the amazing attention to detail throughout, even down to Christmas decorations, including a tree, crackers and chocolate coins for the children. The whole place is finished beautifully and has the truly magnificent views across the Dee. We ate at the local pub, literally two minutes walk away, one evening and found the locals very friendly, accommodating of the children and the food was very good indeed.

Overall, I can't recommend Riverside Cottage highly enough, it really is a gem of a place to stay and only five minutes drive from the town centre of Llangollen too.
