This beautiful, luxurious, individual five bedroomed villa with (inclusive) heated swimming pool and hot tub is in a quiet part of Lajares. Whilst private it is not isolated, nor on an estate, nor overlooked — perfect for the quiet life or for those who prefer not to wear clothes! It has its own parking within the grounds (close to the front door, flood lit at night), all surrounded by small mature pine trees.

Situated just a few minutes’ drive from superb beaches and the resort of Corralejo. This villa is for multi-generation families or up to five couples looking for very high standard accommodation in a quiet location, but walking distance from the restaurants and bars.

The price quoted includes a weekly clean; the pool heated to 27.5c; the hot tub heated to 37c; pool towels and 3Mbps (both ways) internet connection (although this cannot be guaranteed).

We do NOT charge extra for school holidays, the rate remains the same all year around as we believe this to be fairer to all. The rate shown is for up to six people. However, occasionally we do offer a special couples only rate; discounts for returning guests; and bookings of over three weeks. Please contact us directly.


All the bedrooms have been refurbished and decorated in February 2016 — including new high quality beds, bedding and bedside lights. The bathrooms have all been completely refurbished with new tiles, furniture, mirrors and lighting; the windows are fitted with fly screens..

The main house has a twin and double bedroom on the ground floor with a shared bathroom and over-bath shower. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en suite, walk-in shower and wonderful views.

The two separate pool bedrooms on the ground floor (a double and a twin) are both ensuite with walk-in showers — both have double doors (with fly screens) overlooking the pool. PLEASE NOTE: These two bedrooms are not part of the main house, and accessed directly from the pool deck, so may not be suitable for children on their own.

All double beds are European King-sized (160cms x 200cms). The single beds are 90cms x 200cms). All beds have high quality mattresses. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and opening windows with fly screens.

We have one good quality camping cot (supplied with mattress and bottom sheet only) available upon request..


The kitchen and utility room are both brand new at February 2016 — and well-equipped with plenty of new crockery, cutlery and glasses. Includes everything you should need including the (twin) kitchen sink — there is an electric induction hob (with extractor fan), fan oven with grill, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, coffee machine, electric kettle, juicer, blender and two (yes two!) full size dishwashers. We have provided plenty of utensils and pans so you can cook for ten people. Off the kitchen is a small utility room with 8Kgs washing machine and a wine / drinks refrigerator.


The central open plan communal area has a dining table for up to 10 people — with views through bi-fold doors over the pool deck and surrounding hills. We have one high chair available upon request.

The separate lounge has four leather sofas, a wood burner (which you won’t need very often), ceiling fan, a large flat screen television (with the main English channels some in HD), DVD/BluRay player (and selection of DVDs) and IPTV (channels subject to variable internet connection).


The heated pool (27.5C) is 8m x 4m with built in steps and handrail. Depth varies from 0.8m to 1.6m. The pool heater has just been upgraded. The pool uses the new salt-type cleansing system, this is not chlorine-free, but the reduction of irritating chloramines versus traditional chlorinating methods and the 'softening' effect of electrolysis reducing dissolved alkali minerals in the water are perceived as major benefits. For some people that have sensitivities to chlorine, these systems certainly can reduce eye stinging and other unwanted effects.

The separate hot tub is kept at about 37C, perfect for relaxing after a hard days relaxing. It seats five people, or six if you really know each other!

There are eight sunbeds, two outside tables and ten chairs. The main table easily seats eight and ten at a push for al fresco dining.

There is a full size charcoal barbecue with all the tools (but please supply your own charcoal. PLEASE NOTE: Cleaning the barbecue and disposing of ash is your responsibility).

Garden lighting creates a wonderful effect at night time. There are two levels of outside lighting depending upon what you want to do. The outside lights are additionally controlled by remote key fobs — which means if you return after dark you can switch on the lights.

All lights are LED, saving energy. Roof mounted solar panels heat the hot water — with electrical back-up for when not up to temperature.

We fell in love with Lajares several years ago. Both of us have travelled the world but keep returning to Fuerteventura.

One day this will be our home, but until then we are offering this delightful house for rental.

You will not be culturally challenged on the island, but if you want all-year round sun and warmth this is probably the place to come.

Its private, without being isolated, comfortable home-from-home.

What makes this villa unique

The island is a destination for sun, beach and water sports enthusiasts. It lies on the same latitude as Florida and Mexico and temperatures here rarely fall below 18 °C (64 °F) or rise above 32 °C (90 °F). There are no fewer than 152 beaches along its coastline.

The best appointed property we have ever stayed in

This is, without doubt, the best appointed property we have stayed in during the last ten years of visiting Fuerteventura! Rosa de Laguna has been equipped with the best of fittings - kitchen, bath/shower rooms, bedrooms and living accommodation. The quality of the whole accommodation is exemplified by the 18 pages of very useful information about the property. Without doubt, the heated swimming pool and hot tub is an invaluable attraction, especially in the cooler months of winter! The property is maintained to a very high standard, in keeping with the quality of the accommodation, and Paul, the Manager, is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Lajares in an excellent centre for visiting the whole island and there is a wealth of local activities to enjoy and explore the island. The local beaches are a delight for families and the many local restaurants offer a wide range of menus to satisfy all tastes.

We stayed at Rosa de Laguna for four weeks in 2017, three weeks this years and we have already booked for four weeks in 2018. What better recommendation can there be?

I returned for a second time to Rosa de Laguna at the end of 2017 and echo other reviews by saying that it is without doubt one of the best villas it has been my good fortune to discover after taking holidays in a number of countries over the last 40 years or more. The owners have gone to extraordinary lengths to anticipate their guests’ every need; they have remodelled it from top to bottom so that now it must surely be one of the finest villas of this size on the island. From its ultra-modern kitchen complete with two dishwashers to super comfy beds, brand new furniture throughout, a big screen TV that carries the major UK channels, fast Wi-Fi (by local standards!), USB sockets everywhere, a pool heated to perfection not to mention the hot tub, it seems that nothing has been overlooked. The owners provide excellent advance information for visitors and the kitchen has a bulletin board full of restaurant recommendations and local information.

Lajares is only a 30 minute drive from the airport and the village has everything that the holidaymaker needs such as a small supermarket, a bakery, a number of craft shops and a good choice of restaurants all of which are within walking distance, although a car is really essential for getting around the island and into Corralejo which is the nearest town (about a 15 minute drive). Much the same time in the car will get you to some great golden sandy beaches as well.

I am reluctant to sing the praises too much as I fear that this hidden gem will become far too popular. I notice from the very well-constructed website that bookings extend well into 2019 so my advice would be to book early to avoid disappointment!

Don't miss the opportunity to stay here!

We stayed at Villa Rosa de Laguna in December 2017 and found it to be a wonderful location; indeed the best thus far after a few stays in Lajares. The villa is within a 10 min walk from the village of Lajares which has some great cafes, bakeries & bars along with some interesting shops and a supermarket which pretty much has everything you need. Once behind the entrance gates to the villa you feel like you are in a little world of your own where every bit of the experience adds to it being a peaceful haven with some fantastic views. The villa is very well equipped, in fact you are unlikely to want for anything as the owners have already thought about it. Barely an evening passed without a session in the hot tub, which was so relaxing whilst looking up at the stars, and the heated pool is fantastic - you will not feel cold in this one in the winter months! The bathrooms are very well finished and the mattresses are unlike most you find in rental villas in that they are very comfortable and not hard. If you want to relax and watch a movie or two then the TV along with surround sound system will not disappoint. All in all I would say if you have a chance to stay here then don't miss out on the opportunity.

Excellent Villa

We stayed here for two weeks to celebrate my 60th Birthday, it easily accommodated 8 people. (We had 4 couples, so each had their own bathroom). Very warm pool and wonderful hot tub. Very good external lighting. Bedrooms had very comfortable beds and bathrooms were modern and clean. Lounge, dining room, and kitchen were of excellent size and in open plan layout which worked well for the large group. Bi-folding doors out to terrace area are a great feature. Kitchen had everything that you would need. Very fast and helpful email communication from Richard and Sue at all times We all had a wonderful time here and did not want to leave.

Excellent experience.

We spent a delightful week in the villa together with friends. The owners are very generous with the amenities and equipment provided, especially the 2 dishwashers. They have thought of everything you could possibly want on holiday. The villa’s pool is easy to use for all ages during the day and in the evening the whole area is beautifully lit. The outdoor hot tub is an inspired touch and very welcoming, particularly if there is a chill in the air.

The villa is situated in a peaceful area with easy walks nearby and a very good bakery within walking distance to the nearest village. The notice board in the villa has useful recommendations for restaurants, local attractions, shops etc.

We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Lajares is a delightful village in the north of Fuerteventura, some say possibly the nicest in the north of the island. Situated between Corralejo town and the fishing village of El Cotillo, Lajares is home to a mixed culture of local islanders and many other people from all over the world.
