Spacious holiday house with stunning views on the beautiful Valtos Peninsula. Sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms. Fully equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room with wood-burning stove, 2 bathrooms, conservatory. 1 minute walk to beach and pier, with many other beautiful beaches within easy reach. Family and pet friendly, the house is perfect for bird watchers, nature lovers, beachcombers, sandcastle builders, kayakers and hardy swimmers!
Liona-Tuim is a much loved holiday home that has been in our family for over 40 years. Sitting just above the beach in the village of Valtos, the house provides the perfect base for exploring the beautiful area of Uig with its huge white sandy beaches, imposing mountains, and varied wildlife, as well as for further adventures such as boat trips to the islands or visits to the Standing Stones at Callanish, the Iron Age broch at Carloway or the Black House village at Gearrannan.
The house is comfortable and well equipped. Downstairs there is a cosy kitchen heated by an Everhot stove with an induction hob and additional microwave, and including a fridge, dishwasher and bread maker.
The sitting room has a wood burning stove, TV and DVD player together with a selection of games, puzzles and books for relaxing after a hard day's exploration.
The downstairs bedroom has bunkbeds. Free wifi is provided but we recommend you use it for checking the weather forecast rather than catching up with work!
A conservatory which catches the evening sun, perfect for a cup of tea or something stronger while you read a book or play a game.
A downstairs shower room allows for post-beach clean ups, and a bright and spacious studio is perfect for playing games. The workshop has room for boots and coats and houses the washing machines, tumble dryer and freezer.
Upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 twin) and a bathroom including a bath and power shower. Please note linen and towels are not provided.
2 well-behaved dogs allowed (NB We ask that dogs be kept in the studio or conservatory. Dogs are not allowed upstairs).
The house is approximately 5 miles from the well-stocked local community shop, which includes a post-office and petrol station. The town of Stornoway is a 45 minute drive away, and from here supermarket deliveries can be arranged.
