This luxury 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, which is fully air-conditioned, is situated on the ground floor of a small block of apartments in the prestigious gated Parquemar development,just a few minutes walk from the beach, and has full disabled access. The manicured gardens and walkways lead to a choice of 2 gated pools, which are open all year. A beautiful children's play park is situated within the grounds.

The apartment is fully equipped with WI FI and satellite TV. The separate kitchen contains a hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, and the adjoining utility room boasts a washer and a drier.

The "piece de resistance" is the exceptionally large outside terrace which not only has an outside kitchen with a large barbecue, but also boasts a covered dining area with luxury furniture.

The large living area contains also has a separate dining area. This leads directly to a recently added conservatory, which provides an added room for relaxing in the sunshine, or enjoying the views of the gardens.

We purchased this property in 2005, when our children were still quite young. The proximity to Alicante airport, and the immaculate gated community within a very short walking distance to such a beautiful beach, prompted us to choose La Mata above any other area on the Costa Blanca.

Lovely apartment with fabulous terrace

We had a great holiday in this lovely apartment in La Mata. The apartment itself is really well furnished/equipped and has everything you need - including really comfy beds - but the best part for us was the huge outside terrace.

We were a party of 4 adults including one wheelchair user, so we sometimes struggle with getting the right facilities, but this was great. We ended up with 2 people with mobility issues as my husband unfortunately had a foot injury prior to travel, so we were restricted in how far we could explore. Having the terrace enabled us to have a lot of time outside - in and out of the shade - and it was very peaceful and comfortable with the chairs, sunbeds etc. that were provided.

There were 2 small supermarkets a few minutes walk away, and enough restaurants within a 10-15 (slow) walk that meant we always found somewhere to eat. And we ate out most nights. We could only find 1 ATM in the town centre (although that worked fine) and the beach/boardwalk were very near. The pool is also lovely, and on occasions we had it completely to ourselves. All in all highly recommended for a quiet relaxing break.

The apartment is fine and has all you need. There are few small supermarket close by (2 blocks away). Restaurants are scattered but there are many to choose from. Buses and taxis are avail as well. If you are self catering well worth going to large supermarket called Carrefour in Torrejieva. Taxi cost us €10 each way. Did all our shopping for the week. Beach is about 5/10 min walk but lovely once you there. Sea is great and fantastic for kids. Few things to be made aware of if you looking to book 1) was asked to pay for cleaning over the cost of booking€100 and then also you have to be aware that you are also subject to charges on electricity if you go over 50 units a day. These were not mentioned till a few days before we left. In all the place is great as it has a complex swimming pool which is really nice. Outdoor area is also a nice place to relax. I have given this a 5 star rating based on the whole holiday. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Perfect apartment for my family!

The apartment was perfect for us. We were in total 6 adults and two 2 year old children that stayed here for one week.

It was close to the beach, very good general standard, nice patio with an outside grill were we spent most of the evenings. Close to restaurants in La Mata, or the public bus that goes to Torrevieja.

Our 2 year old girl could play in the pool, in the public playground 10m away or at the beach 500m from the apartment. She also really liked the place.

I can only give my highest recommendations to Pauline and her family that let us rent this apartment for a week.

The beautiful village of La Mata still retains that special "Spanish" feel. A wooden boardwalk runs for miles along the side of the golden beach, which has been awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety.

At lunch times, and in the evenings, this area, and the surrounding streets, are a hive of activity, with many busy cafes, restaurants and bars. Our favourite beach bar is called Blondy's- a lively and fun bar which serves excellent cocktails, tapas, as well as pizza and burgers, and has live music at weekends.

The nearby streets also offer many shopping opportunities, but on Wednesdays there is a Spanish street market, where the discerning shopper can purchase superb fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables, as well as clothing, handbags and jewellery at excellent prices.

Whether you are looking for a restaurant which specialises in fine dining, or one with a more relaxed approach, La Mata has it all! One of our favourites is Aquolina, a family friendly Italian restaurant, only 20 seconds walk from our apartment. It specialises in pizza and pasta, but also serves the most mouth watering Black Angus steak- the best we have tasted in Western Europe!!!!!

If fish is your favourite, then walk along the Boardwalk, breathing in the warm sea air, and head to Cafe Vela or its sister restaurant, Barlovento, where fresh fish caught daily will tempt any discerning diner. My favourite is the lobster salad with foie gras- you can even choose your own lobster!!!!!

If relaxing on the golden sands which boasts the best temperatures on the Spanish coast, with over 320 days of sunshine per year, then why not try the various water sports, such as yachting, snorkelling, fishing and jet skiing.

If a more leisurely game of golf appeals, there are no less than 5 excellent courses within 30 minutes of La Mata.
