The pool and outside space were wonderful. The house is large and well equipped, with fabulous views of the mountains. We found the local people to be very welcoming and friendly.

Fabulous large villa set in stunning remote location
The villa was huge and very comfortable and homely for our family of 2 adults and 3 children. The pool was large and clean, and although April was cold, the 3 children enjoyed it. Idyllic to get away and chill out. Barbara was a great host and was helpful with sorting queries and housekeepers etc. We would definitely visit again.

Lovely house
Beautiful setting with great views, it was a little too chilly to use the pool but we managed it. The fenced garden is a bonus and the house large enough for family and friends to share without getting under each others feet.

Heaven ! Fantastic place to relaxe
The place was delightful. We had a great time last summer. If you need a place to relaxe, if you love the nature and beautyful countrylife and if you not look for annoying nightlife and bars next to your holidayhome, you definitely should choose Casa Ciclamini. It is a wonderful restored beautyful house just as shown at pictures, with a huge garden and a nice pool. The kitchen is well equipped and the house clean and really nice. You need a car to go to the next supermarket and restaurants, but this is no big deal. I promise you will love the property. The owner and the housekeeper are very nice persons. We will come back soon !

About the host
Hosted by Drs P and B Wallis
The Wallis family come from Solihull, in the West Midlands and are now living in Suffolk and London. We (Mum and Dad) are retired doctors. We have 3 children - 2 are junior doctors and the youngest is a physicist. We have an enthusiastic and doting cocker spaniel called Polly. We have overseen the restoration of the charming old farmhouse formerly known to us as 'il ruin' to a lovely family holiday retreat using local architect & builders. They have done a magnificent job and have recovered the old Marchegiani appearance of the farmhouse and have added the usual mod cons! With the help of Fabricia (house keeper), Mario (gardener) and Andrea (pool engineer) we have a perfect holiday retreat and have enjoyed many holidays with family and friends in summer spring and winter. Several recently married couples have 'honeymooned' in this lovely setting. It is a perfect spot to de-stress, keep fit and soak up the local culture and ambience.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the property and stumbled on it quite by chance. There has been a farmhouse here for hundreds of years and when we arrived it had been derelict for 80 years or so. Nature had reclaimed the surrounding hillside fields. We arrived for our first viewing through the woodland on the back of a tractor, but there is now secure access by unmetalled chalk road. The house has a stunning location on the edge of the village of Necciano with views of the Sibillini mountains. We love nature, walking and local culture and have found the local village residents and farmers welcoming, friendly and helpful. The property was fully rebuilt and restored in 2007-8 with anti-seismic specification.
What makes this property unique
This is rural Italy with all its charm and delights. If you like being close to nature, country / hillside walks, magnificent local architecture and culture as well as delicious Le Marche food this is the place for you.
