About this property

'The Mews' converted Manor mews situated in a central location with a rural feel

Being part of the converted Buxford manor house, dating back to the 1700’s and originally built by the Toke family to house the Dowager of Godinton House. The Mews has plenty of character features that make themselves apparent such as the original water pump in the front garden, wide staircase and large landing. Aside from its historic origins there are all the modern features available as well as some beautifully fitted contemporary bathrooms. There are quality furnishings throughout and there is a very spacious feel to the property. You are in walking distance of many conveniences with Ashford on your doorstep yet it maintains a rural feel with some nice walks in the surrounding countryside.

The porch opens up into a large entrance hall with the kitchen/ dining room off to the left and lounge to the right, the wide stair case and utility room also feed off at the far end. The kitchen is well equipped, spacious with plenty of workspace and includes a dining area to seat 6. The large lounge includes a digital flatscreen TV, electric fire, and comfortable seating on two sofas and a recliner. The utility room with WC also houses the washing machine. Up the stairs is a huge landing leading off to the 3 bedrooms and family bathroom. The master bedroom is very sizeable and includes double bed, dressing table, wardrobe and an ensuite with his and hers basins, WC and tiled shower. The family bathroom has feature victorian bath, separate shower, WC and basin. The second bedroom includes a double bed and the third a single, both with plenty of hanging space.

Lovely house in a great location
Our family had a lovely stay here, well located and lovely sized rooms. Only thing to improve it would be to have a dishwasher!

Lovely mews property and in a quiet spot
Very comfortable cottage style property which sits down a private side road from a main road so it is quiet. The facilities are good and its very spacious. Also very dog friendly. Unfortunately Great Chart is slowly being swallowed up by Ashford but it still has its charms and stroll up the road to the village is worth it for the pubs and countryside views. Lovely walk across to Godinton House as well. The main road is shamefully litter-strewn and very busy at times with speeding traffic (not the fault of the cottage owner of course) - but once you are off it, the rural landscape is lovely and there are extensive walks available. This cottage also provides easy access to the M20. to fast speed links by train to London, Canterbury, the coast and to the Continent. In terms of accessibility to a wide area this is perfectly positioned. We stayed here whilst our home was being extended and renovated and we extended our stay twice. It was very comfortable and very homely. Only annoyance was getting excited about the Sky Box only to find that most of the features are not available.

Pleasant break away.
Overall we had an excellent holiday at the Mews. The weather was a massive bonus. Everything that was needed was provided in the property. It was spacious and convenient for trips around Kent. The only issue was walking along the road to the playing field in the morning with the dog. There was so much traffic and the path was very narrow with overgrown shrubbery, which made it extremely dangerous.
