Beautifully modernised, well equipped waterfront holiday home with stunning sea views. The kitchen, living room and principal bedroom open onto the large sun soaked terrace overlooking the quayside, an idyllic spot to relax, watch the world go by and in sunny weather have meals under the sun shades. Three further double bedrooms and children's bunk room with cot give spacious accommodation for ten. One shower/toilet and separate bathroom. Great location with access to beach, town, coastal walks, local ferries etc so no need to drive anywhere. Main beach, swimming pools, town centre amenities are all within 5-10 minutes walk. Spectacular cliff walks, swimming, fishing, rockpooling, kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing at your door, with golf nearby in St Briac. There is a thriving artistic community in Dinard, and excellent shopping, restaurants and bars, with a market 3 days a week. Wide choice of boat trips to St Malo, Dinan, and the islands from the quayside. Ideal for summer beach holidays for families in particular with children of all ages or an off-season break. Accessible by ferry, various crossings (St Malo 15 mins) or plane from Stansted and some other UK airports. Underfloor heating, well stocked small library (English & French), CD player, well stocked games cupboard. Generously equipped kitchen; dishwasher, washer/dryer etc. Wireless broadband so you can keep up with those emails. Bed linen can be provided at extra cost per person. About The Owner

The flat has been owned by the same family for over 50 years.Four generations have spent regular time in this very special place. We have successfully rented it for the last 14 years and have delighted in passing on our love of the place to others. Dinard continues to be a regular family destination for all of us.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1958

The flat is located in one of Dinard's prime locations. The generous terrace provides extra space outdoors, sun soaked from first light to late afternoon. You won't tire of the view and the changing light. The lay out of living space and bedrooms is convenient for small or larger groups. Brittany weather never guarantees unfailing sunshine so should it rain there's lots to do locally.

What makes this apartment unique

You will find everything within walking distance. Whether this is the 3 times weekly market, the lovely sandy beaches, the independent shops and galleries or restaurants. Whether you come with little ones, or older children who want an active time on the water, golfers or foodies or are simply looking for some time to take it easy, all can easily be catered for.

You will find plenty of recommendations written up by guests over the years. But we include some of our top suggestions below :

- Take a boat across the bay to St Malo and walk the ramparts. Stop for a crepe or galette should you be peckish.

- Dinan is a charming medieval town up the river Rance, You'll need good footwear if you walk down the rue du Jerzual down to the port. This is worth doing. Go by boat, bus or car.

On a sunny day take a boat for lunch on the island of Cezembre. Best to reserve, details in the flat. There's only one ferry out and back so go well prepared.

- If eating out with little ones is a problem, Le Bar des Marins have provided a successful take away service in the past. The owner speaks English and has been there almost long as us!

- Walk the coastal path to St Enogat or when the tide is low you can walk along the beach. Ice cream and light lunches at the beach bar can be a lure in all weather.

- Waffles/ ice creams from the beach front outlets is always a winner at any time of day.

- Breakfast at the market if you're really early. Get your croissants from the bakery and have your coffee in the sun at the bar opposite.

- The Hotel de la Vallee facing the flat has the last of the evening sun, so a good place for an early evening drink, we think, when the sun has left our terrace!

- The local windsurf/ kayak school just under the bridge provides excellent opportunities for beginner or experienced sailors.

- Seafood, galettes/ crepes and Breton cider are the local specialities. If you're into oysters, Cancale is your destination.

- The area has some of the largest tides in the world. Hence why the beaches are so clean...The difference between high and low tide is spectacular on a monthly basis. See the tide timetable in the information pile at the flat. But beware!! Don't get caught out when the tide races in! And beautifully built sand castles will be washed away!

- Le Castel Brac, the rather posh place up the road is recommended for special occasions. The food is delicious or have tea on their terraces, or a quiet drink at the bar. It used to be the national marine laboratory and aquarium. You will be warmly received by this luxury outfit with a philanthropic mission!

- St Malo aquarium is a great outing especially on a wet day.

- If you want a little pampering there's the thalasotherapie at Enogat. Renowned for it marine treatments and massages.

- If you feel like a change of scene and have come with a car visit the next villages along the coast, St Lunaire and St Briac. Both have lovely beaches and plenty of places to eat.

Throughout the year there are exhibitions organised by the town. Les Roches Brunes is an imposing villa on the other side of the main beach. There are usually some interesting exhibitions should you fancy a little culture.

More than lives up to its description

This is a fabulous flat in a brilliant location overlooking the quayside. It's a short walk to the main beach, town centre, and market, and you can get ferries from just around the corner to St Malo and all the local islands.

Unlike most holiday properties, this is very well equipped, especially the kitchen with no lack of cutlery or china.
