Overview

About the property

My rustic country farmhouse rests in its own two hectares of land, in the beautiful countryside of the Tarn and Tarn et Garonne borders. It is ideally situated midway between the beautiful medieval riverside village of St. Antonin-Noble-Val and the Cathar bastide town of Cordes-sur-Ciel. Najac another famous medieval site, is 40 minutes away. All three ancient settlements are members of les plus beaux villages de France.

Fully south facing, the farmhouse has a large sun-filled terrace, a shady garden with flowering shrubs and a large shady chestnut tree. The huge living room and kitchen open directly onto the terrace. The garden is fenced and therefore dog-friendly.

The house sleeps five/six, having two double bedrooms, one single (in which two single can be set up if required). The kitchen is well-equipped with oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher as well as cooking equipment such as Magimix etc. There is a magnificent wood-burning stove for those cooler evenings as well as electric heating. Also flat-screen TV with freesat, DVD and CD players. The bathroom is up-to-date and well-equipped. There is also a washing machine.

The house is furnished with an eclectic mix of French provincial and Oriental antiques, plus comfortable sofas and armchairs. The bedrooms are furnished simply but with style and the mattresses are supremely comfy! For use outside, there are parasols, dining tables and chairs as well as sun loungers. Bed linen and towels are included.

Amazing and genuine house

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely a dream for a retreat in the middle of a wonderful unspoiled countryside. It's simple, genuine and provides all you need to spend a wonderful holidays. I would definitely recommend this very beautiful house as I'm sure there are not much authentic place like this one left in this country!

We were very pleased to have chosen this property

  • 4 of 5

The house and buildings were very pretty, not over restored or pretentious, but comfortable and spacious, with a particularly handsome dining table and tiled floor. We appreciated being off the road, with a path leading off into the countryside where we could walk with the children, and a small field adjacent to the house where they could play. The garden furniture was attractive, and the house well sheltered. Being more or less equidistant from two historic towns and some lovely countryside was also of course important. In our case we were anxious not to have a house with a pool as they are a constant danger for adventurous two year olds.

Une charmante petite ferme sur sa colline

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very nice review. I agree with you about the height of the beds (partly due to the thickness of the mattresses!). I will be reducing their height, especially in the "children's bedroom".
