About the property

Situated in York Centre. Historic attractions and shops within 10minutes walk

This apartment is ideally placed. You will not need your car as an allocated parking space at the rear of the building is available. The apartment is situated just outside the medieval entrance gate (built on the original Roman gate foundations) and entrance to the city walls. York Minster can be seen from the apartment and is just a few minutes walk away. Leading off are all the medieval streets such as Stonegate, Petergate and The Shambles ('gate' is the old Viking term for street) with their wonderful shops and restaurants. The York Art Gallery and Theatre Royal are just a few metres away. Photos of shops and attractions shown were taken within a few minutes walk of the apartment. There are lots more but not shown on this site!

There is a luxury bedroom with a king sized bed, hand painted furniture and original water colour paintings on the walls. A fold out single bed is available, suitable for a child. Baby Chair and travel cot also available. Bedding and towels are freshly laundered for each guest.

The Living Room has a TV and DVD player. It also has a dining area with a glass top dining table.

The bathroom has a rounded end bath to provide a larger showering facility. The kitchen contains a fridge and a washing machine. Internet connection through WiFi is available.

Tea, coffee and other cooking items provided.

All reviews are genuine and unsolicited.

The flat is on the second floor and there is no lift so it is not suitable for the less able.

There is an allocated parking space so no need to pay expensive parking charges!! Attractions and shops are within a short walking distance.

We need to give you the keys in person so please let us know your estimated time of arrival and any subsequent changes to this time. This is so we can arrange our time and be there to greet you.

Please provide a mobile number, NOT a home phone number.

Cancellation policy: For bookings cancelled up to 14 days before the start of the stay, traveller receives a 100% refund of payment. You are not charged any booking fees.

For bookings cancelled up to 7 days before the start of the stay, traveller receives a 50% refund. You are charged booking fees on any portion kept.

Why Lucy Stevenson chose York

So close to the tourist centre it makes a very attractive holiday let with everything within strolling distance (except the Railway Museum but that is walkable). I know how important it is when visiting a City like this to have restaurants, theatre and bars nearby for the evenings and the shops and historic attractions close during the day.

What makes this apartment unique

It's self-catering accommodation as close to the Centre as possible. Hotels near the Centre tend to be expensive. There is a local Sainsbury's a few yards away if you are self catering.

Its also close to St John's University for those visiting their children there.

You can hear the Minster Bells!

This flat is in the historical and tourist Centre of York. It is a few minutes walk to the famous York Minster (which can be seen from the flat)and many other must see historical places. Also the centre is full of shops. An ideal place to visit York as all the attractions are within walking distance. A few meters from the flat is the pedestrianised tourist area of York. Photos shown are of places withing a ten minutes walk or less. Some are very close. Personal parking space by the flat - so no parking costs. (do not use the post code shown on this site, please use YO30 7BR) 1.5km from the station but suggest a short taxi ride with luggage.

Excellent apartment

Beautiful apartment - really well appointed, warm on a cold weekend and comfortable bed!

The location is perfect for town centre and whilst there is the odd bit of traffic noise, it is not a problem and to be expected if you want to be based centrally with a view of the Minster towers.

Superb - would definitely recommend and come back.

Well-appointed apartment in great location

This spacious, well-appointed apartment is in a great location to walk to wherever you would like to explore in York. Has the advantage offered by many apartments of little bits and pieces you need. There is room to spread out and be comfortable, if you wish to relax. Parking is easy and adjacent to the entrance. Easy to find (although could on the last few hundred metres before the carpark being congested when calculating the timing of your trip). Lucy is a friendly, helpful host.

Clean, Convenient, Well-Furnished and Well Managed

This place couldn't be better located for visiting York and, if you have an auto, the surrounding region. It's on the second floor and is well-sized for two people. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen well-furnished and the manager (Lucy) provides a great orientation to everything. Response to a couple minor issues (I couldn't figure out the television controls) was prompt and we were fortunate to meet the owner, David, who was quite helpful in providing us ideas for places to visit around the region. Altogether a wonderful visit and highly recommended. A bit more road noise (at the front, living room side) than we're used to otherwise this would be a five-star.

Sweet flat, very nicely decked out with many thoughtful details.. great location near the Minster and the Shambles etc Also Sainsburys express two minutes round the corner. Loads to see .... York and Yorkshire are wonderful places. Thanks!!
