About this property

Family Villa with pool, sea and mountain views in tranquil setting

An ideal base for whatever type of holiday you seek, be it somewhere quiet to carry on working, soaking up the sun poolside for complete relaxation away from 'the madding crowd' or a walker wishing to leave the car on the drive to ramble out of the door to the olive tree adorned hills. Turn in the other direction and walk five minutes to the authentic Greek Café Neon to have a drink and chat with local people, maybe enjoy lunch or dinner there too. Alternatively walk to the nearest beach 20 minutes away on foot (5 mins by car), or just do nothing at this private villa in a quiet location island. The choice is yours. The villa is close enough to all facilities yet has the added bonus of having no long, winding, tortuous, often steep roads associated with many locations. It is a large, modern and spacious 3 double bedroom 200 sq metre villa with attached double garage. It has large vaulted ceiling extending the whole width of the upstairs and in the master bedroom. Also upstairs are the open plan sitting and dining room areas plus the adjoining fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. There are outside balconies with glorious views of the Ionian Sea and Albanian mountains to the front, gardens and tree lined hills to the rear. Perhaps breakfast whilst taking in the sea view and mountain range and then enjoy mid-morning coffee tranquilly looking up into the natural olive tree lined hills from the rear balcony. At the end of the day sip those drinks whilst watching (depending on the time of the year) the fire ball sun, either sink into the sea or back light the whispery branches of olive and Cyprus trees before it gives way to the night sky and its galaxy of glistening stars. The Kitchen, basic satellite TV, and surround sound music centre are also situated on the first floor. Downstairs, there is an additional sitting room with basic satellite TV. There is wi-fi connection on both floors. The three air conditioned bedrooms are all en- suite with two opening onto a front balcony and sea view the other to the garden and olive tree hills. Sitting in 4000sq metres of grounds, the property is in a quiet, not over looked location where a slow passing car can be something of a novelty and just a few minutes’ walk from the village centre and local café Neon, serving traditional food and a range of beverages. The villa enjoys glorious views over the Ionian sea to the Albanian mountains at the front and hills to the rear. This is an ideal place to relax, walk along donkey track roads through olive groves to Episkepsi and beyond or use as a base to visit the many beaches, towns and villages in the north of the island. The nearest beech of Roda, with shops and restaurants is a five minute drive away and the main town of Archarvi also with shops, bars, restaurants, and post office just two minute or so further away. The village people are very welcoming so do stroll the few minutes to visit the café Neon and the small main square with its Greek Orthodox church.
The villa has its own good sized pool, sunbeds, BBQ, covered outdoor eating/sitting area with table and chairs. The large double open space garage attached to the villa provides sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional fridge freezer. A clothes line, iron, ironing board and hair dryers are also provided. The gardens are large and ideal for playing boules and other such outdoor games.

Wonderful villa in a peaceful location
We had a lovely holiday. The villa was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Fantastic views from the balconies and swimming pool.A couple of minor issues were dealt with very quickly. It is in a good location just outside a village but within a short drive of beaches and other attractions.

Corfu Summer Break 2022
The location, size and facilities at the property were second to none for us. Although there is tight vehicle access, it's not too bad if takenb slowly and only a short run. The locals are helpful if you meet a vehicle head on as we did several times, and easily overcome. Beds really comfortable, with air con in the bedrooms only making a great nights sleep no problem. The pool is a good size and depth, clearly well maintained, with a good range of sunbeds around the pool to choose from. Facilities in the property are generally very good, although the sat TV didn't work for us whilst we were there. It wasn't a major problem for us, as so many other things to do and we quite enjoyed the time away from it TBH. One of the real highlights of the stay was Cafe Neon in the village. Spyros and Anna were both great hosts, with the atmosphere, food and welcome scoring 10/10 every time we visited, so it comes highly recommended.

We had a wonderful week at this villa. The views are really beautiful and as soon we arrived we felt totally relaxed. It is such a peaceful location but with the benefit of the great Cafe Neon down the road where we had dinner several times. The pool is great. a really good size and plenty of inflatables for the kids and the property is very spacious and well equipped. We would definitely recommend this villa.

Idyllic villa
The villa was superb - an absolute home from home in a wonderful holiday location (well done Dennis and Linda - and Peter and the team on Corfu too). Complete privacy and peace with a dramatic view across the water to Albania but just a short hop to the village of Roda - and from there endless island coastline to the east and west. Highly recommended..

Lovely villa with fabulous views
We all had a great family holiday at this wonderful villa. Good location for exploring northern Corfu, for walks in the countryside around the villa and for dining at the local taverna Cafe Neon! The villa is bright, spacious and fully equipped, great clean pool and amazing views from both the garden and the balconies. We would recommend this villa and will hopefully return!

About the host

I am married with two grown-up sons, partners and two grandchildren, who love spending their holidays at the villa in Sfakera. With my husband we had the villa built so that we could spend more time visiting this wonderful island whilst at the same time seeing more of my sister who used to live on island . We currently live in Hertfordshire having arrived here in 1984 moving from the Midlands via Cheshire were we lived for 8 years. We decided to offer the villa for holiday rentals a) because it’s such a lovely spot we enjoy sharing it with others and b) in all honesty to help contribute to its upkeep.

Why they chose this property

It has everything we wanted when looking for the right spot to build a house and believe me it took a couple of years of searching to find it. It is situated on a very quiet unmade road where a ‘busy’ day means maybe eight cars a day will pass very slowly by. The village of Sfakera is a two minute walk away and the Café Neon is frequented by locals and occasional tourists who want to sample an authentic village bar that serves food and a full range of drinks.
The views from the villa are beautiful, stretching as they do across the valley below, to the resort of Roda and onward over the sea with passing ships and boats, to the panoramic vista of the Albanian mountains at the front. To the rear are olive and Cyprus tree laden hills, with more trees to one side and some way over, a large villa to the other that does not overlook the property. Watch the sun setting from the front balcony as it drops into the ocean to be replaced by a galaxy of stars in the night sky.
Roda is short drive or fifteen minute walk away and offers an ATM, local shops beaches, water sports and any number of tavernas. Archarvi, the largest town outside of Corfu town, is five minutes away by car, just around the headland, and boasts a small museum, opposite a small archaeological dig, an array of shops numerous bars and restaurants town side or beachfront, beaches and water sports. The water park is on the edge of the town on the road to Kassiopi . Medical facilities and pharmacies are available in both Roda and Acharavi.
To sum up; whatever mood you are in, be it in need of a quiet, away from it all relaxing holiday by the pool, or sea swimming and beach activities, walking, sightseeing, shopping, sailing along the magnificent coast line, eating out or a drink in a local bar, this place has them all.

What makes this property unique

This is a spacious 200 sq metre villa, plus attached double garage in a large plot of 4000 m2 with glorious views . Upstairs there is a large vaulted ceiling sitting room and kitchen , the balconies to the front and rear have completely different views, sea and mountains to one side, dense olive trees and hills to the other. To one side there are more dense olive trees and to the other side roughly 50 metres away a villa which does not overlook- see pictures. It has 3 phase electricity with central heating throughout and air conditioning in all three ground floor en-suite bedrooms. On both floors there are separate toilets. The attached, tiled floor garage. houses a sink, washing machine, tumble dryer (if needed) and an additional fridge freezer.
The bedrooms and additional sitting room are on the ground floor and are accessible by wheel chair, but use of the toilets my require some mobility.
Outside there is a good size swimming pool with a walk in slope and shallow steps at one end and 2 metre depth at the other. A large paved area surrounds the pool where sunbeds and an umbrella are placed and if it gets too hot there is covered shelter with table and chairs, next to the BBQ for outdoor cooking.
There is plenty of room to play outdoor games
