Location, location!

  • 4 of 5

A quirky yet wonderful waterside retreat! If you are looking for luxury this isn't it, but if you are looking for a super, reasonably priced base to explore the area in a gorgeous unique setting, this definitely ticks the boxes. We wouldn't hesitate in returning. Thank you!

The location and gardens were superb, house needs some improvement.

  • 4 of 5

The location and garden/ patio was absolutely stunning and made our holiday. The house was lovely but needs significant upgrading and improvement as is very tired . The property also needs a double bed. The location makes up for this however.

Idyllic setting perfectly positioned

  • 4 of 5

A relaxed spacious well proportioned holiday home . With ample space for family and dog to unwind in. Garden and terrace a special feature especially in the evenings watching the tide come into the estuary and watching the sun set

Excellent house in quiet location.

  • 3 of 5

We had wall to wall sunshine which meant we ate all of our meals outside on the lovely terrace overlooking the creek. It would have been useful to have had a bit more information on arrival about the tide times, where to buy a few provisions without getting the car out, places to eat, etc. so perhaps a visitors guide could be provided. We used our table tennis set on the table in the lower garden which proved a great hit.

A little boat for messing about on the water would have been lovely.

As there is no parking with the house, use of the drive of the adjoining property when not in use would have been helpful as the limited parking nearby was often full.

The house was well appointed and it had comfortable beds. As linens were provided we didn't take any but their one tea towel was inadequate for a family for a week. One of the sofas could have done with freshening up (doggy smell).

Generally speaking, a good, quiet base for a holiday in Salcombe.

Lovely week at Waterside.

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed our week at Waterside. My wife and I stayed in the new studio while the rest of the family stayed in the main house. The studio is an ideal get-a-way for two. The setting is stunning.

Perfect holiday home in Batson/Salcome

  • 5 of 5

This property ticks all the boxes. We stayed here in October 2016, and were delighted when we arrived. Although we have holidayed in Salcombe all our lives, we were unaware of the privacy and generous property size that this house allows. It was perfect for us, with it being dog friendly and in an area of Salcombe which allowed for us to walk the dogs in the surrounding countryside yet still be in walking distance of all the amenities. We could fish and canoe directly from the property when the tide was in, a very rare combination! The gardens were most generous, and very private. Communication between the house manager and ourselves was very good, and any queries were answered immediately. I would most certainly book this property again, it far exceeded our expectations, and it was a pleasure to remain in the holiday home without even going out some days, which is most unusual for us. Thank you Owners Direct.
