About this property

Luxury stone villa with outdoor jacuzzi, private pool and antique furniture

Our villa is located in a serene and natural environment in a small Cretan village close to the beach of Almirida.
It is totally suitable for everyone who wishes to have a relaxing holiday close to the nature while at the same time not be away from shops, beaches and other activities
The house can comfortably accommodate 8 people offering all the comforts a permanent house offers. We have furnished it with many pieces of antique furniture which give a wonderful sense of history combined with modern comfort. The atmosphere created is astounding indeed.
As for its layout:
Starting from downstairs, the kitchen is fully equipped with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and all the small appliances and cooking utensils needed to make your stay as easy as possible.
The dining area which is attached to the kitchen has got a fireplace, and a big table where 8 people can comfortably sit. This area has also got a small WC under the staircase that can also be used as a storeroom -here you can find a first aid kit. There is also a small terrace outside this room with an old well which we have transformed into a small table perfect for breakfast.
The sitting room is also downstairs and it is connected to the dining area through a stone arch. The sitting area sits minimum six people. There is a TV and another fireplace. Around the living room, there are two bedrooms- one with a double bed, and a twin bedroom (these beds can become one double bed) and a bathroom with shower. We have had a shower cubicle installed which is not shown in the pictures.
All four bedrooms have air conditioning even though the house is cool enough itself because of its structure and the insulation we have put.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms with double beds and a bathroom with bathtub and a washing machine-we have added shower glass here too. There is a wonderful veranda which is covered with a round pergola. It is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful spots the villa can offer. With big outdoor sofas and a breath-taking view of Souda bay on one side and the regional mountain on the other, this veranda can be the best place during sunset!
As for the outdoors, there is a huge garden with lawn, a big pool, a barbecue with a lot of space to sit and a hot tub. Attached to the pool area there is an outdoor bathroom.
The barbeque area is also next to the pool. There is a big wooden table for those who wish to eat outside.
The hot tub is in the front yard of the house. It can be used all year round, without any extra cost.
As for us, we are a family business who really wishes to provide the best experience possible to those who choose our house to spend their holiday. This is our utmost concern and this is why we try our best to achieve this!!

Fabulous week at Villa Kambia
We have just spent a fantstic week at Villa Kambia - such a beautiful old house, glorious well kept garden and lovely pool with lots of spaces for the family to spend time together or find their own space. Manolis was a wonderful host, enabling us to move our trip forward a year as the pandemic prevented us travellling in 2020 and always quick to respond to any queries we had both before we arrived and whilst staying at the property. Local area requires a car to get arround, but the supermarket, tavernas and the beach are all very close by car and you can walk down the hill to Plaka for local food (with a great stop off half way down at the Totem Bar for cocktails!!). A huge thumbs up for this place - would definitely go back.

Outstanding villa
The rental was easy from start to finish. Manolis responded within minutes to any query I had. He met us at the property and showed us around he also sourced some wood (for free!) For the outside oven. Any issues were dealt with promptly. The villa itself is lovely. A nice big plot with lots of different places to sit and eat. The pool was fantastic and the garden was great for the children to run around in. The rooms were cool and the aircon helped keep the bedrooms even cooler. We had a wonderful stay and cannot reccomended this place enough. Would love to come back!

Very peaceful lots of space
This is a lovely villa. Very large, lots of space for a large family visit like ours. Pool is excellent and there are lots of spaces for outdoor eating/relaxing including a wonderful bbq area (NB if eating outdoors wait until after sunset to avoid being inundated by flys - this is common to the area not just the villa). Air conditioning is very good in most rooms which are also very nicely decorated. There is plenty of parking for two cars (and a moped). There's only one electric gate zapper so you need to coordinate coming and going if you are in a big group. There's a small town about 15 mins walk down the hill called Plaka which has some nice little restaurants and a couple of well-stocked shops. Keep going down the hill another 20 minutes and you come to Almaridya which has loads of restaurants, a good butchers, a beach, several shops etc. The villa is in a very small village inhabited by locals but the immediate area is very much geared up for foreign holiday-makers and the vast majority of properties in the area are holiday rentals. This is good if you want to be close to amenities but if you're local for a secluded rural retreat you might be a little disappointed by the location. Our liaison at the villa - Manolis - was extremely helpful and a really nice chap. When we visited in August there were a lot of very aggressive mosquitoes (seemed to bite females more than males) so we recommend you take and use repellent including burners (all available in local shops). There is a very attractive mountain to the rear of the villa with an enticing track up to the top. If you're inclined to give it go then be warned the track is fenced off about half way up. There's a very nice swimming spot at Koutalas Beach which you can walk to if reasonably fit (about 1hr) or a ten minute drive if you're not (NB steep walk down to beach at the end).

Villa Kambia is a spacious well equiped property providing everything needed for a great holiday.
We had a super holiday at Villa Kambia. The villa is very well equipped and spacious, set in large grounds. We were a family of seven including a 4-year old and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The villa has a great swimming pool ,outdoor areas, the added luxury of a hot tub and also a large lawn with football and volleyball nets so is ideal for family members of all ages. There are views of Souda Bay from the main bedroom and rooftop terrace seating area. Manolis the owner was very helpful and actually provided eggs and fruit for us. There was a problem with the area water supply on one day but Manolis had water brought in for us even though it was a Bank holiday! The villa is set in a quiet village but only 5 minutes drive from Plaka which has several good restaurants, and 10-15 minutes drive from the beachfront at Almyrida. We recommend this villa without hesitation and will certainly stay here again. Thank you Manolis for a great holiday!

Absolutely fantastic, and didn't want to come home!
Wow, the villa looks great here on the website but even better for real. On arrival we had a welcome pack which was just perfect given our flights were delayed and we'd not had the chance to stock up on route! The villas got so many great places to sit and chill out, dine with your family, have some alone time or be sociable... The indoor and out door space is perfect, and the villa was very well equipped and clean. The kids loved the pool that was kept clean all week. The local area is quaint and the locals incredibly friendly. Transport is a must if you stay here but it's only a 5 min drive to the local tavernas and 10 at most to the beach (we did walk to nearest taverna and it took about 15 mins in each direction with kids). Great villa, great hospitality and would happily go back again. We stayed late June 2018.
