About Andy & Emma Giddings

Hi we are a family of four that have holidayed in St Ives for over 20 years and are now very excited to own our first home here. 2016 will be exciting for The Giddings family, St Ives is our second home and we look forward to welcoming many guests to share our new home with us. If we could have brought the fantastic reviews across from the previous owners of 4 St Eia we would have done. We make as many trips as we can each year driving all the way from Essex! Now our boys are older we spend many a day on Porthmeor Beach Body Boarding as a family come rain or shine! Porthgwidden Beach is another favourite of ours, both of which are a stones throw from 4 St Eia. Location was key for us! We know St Ives very well, have made many friends and contacts over the years and are happy to try and answer any questions you may have. We hope you enjoy St Ives as much as we do, it really is unique! Emma, Andy, Jack & Harry Giddings.

Why Andy & Emma Giddings chose Saint Ives

This cottage is perfect for a beach holiday, there are three beautiful beaches that are within 5mins walk of the house, Porthmeor which is a great surfing beach, Porthgwidden which is perfect for families and the Harbour beach which enjoys the views of the town. The location is ideal for families as it is all on the flat, no big hills to climb whilst carrying surfboards! You can even glimpse the sea from the master bedroom!

What makes this cottage unique

This cottage really is in a fantastic location it is handy for everything. We are within a five minute walk to the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth museum. There is the local Norway Stores which is handy for day to day groceries and the odd bottle of wine which is again is less than a five minute walk. Again it is a five minute walk to the pier which is perfect for late afternoon crabbing. There are a number of excellent restaurants within the town and you can be down on Fore Street within 5minutes walking at a very leisurely pace! It is possible to do a Tesco home delivery for when you arrive which is something that lots of people do.

fantastic stay in st ives in a beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

we had a great 3 days in St Ives, in a renovated cottage that was finished to a very high specification and situated in a perfect location, central to all amenities.

we have stayed in St Ives many times and always loved it, across the road from the cottage is a lovely quaint tea room, called Olives, well worth a visit as they have all home made cakes and scones.

All of the restaurants on the island are recommended, food, ambience and friendliness are a main characteristic.

A big thanks to Emma and Andy for allowing us to stay in their beautiful cottage.....................................We will be back

Beautiful property - perfect hosts.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Andy & Emma for letting us such a beautiful, well kept, and tastefully decorated home. Whilst almost all properties in the centre of St Ives are compact, this cottage offers much more generous space - mostly due to the clever way it has been converted. Emma and Andy were easily contactable and quick to respond to any questions I had, and left a lovely little surprise for my Father (who's 70th Birthday we were celebrating!) I believe my parents have found their new favourite holiday let, and as frequent visitors I'm sure they'll be rebooking. Thank you ever so much again x

Beautiful cottage, clean and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time staying at 4 St Eia. The cottage is beautifully decorated (serious attention to detail!), it is well equipped (we found everything we needed over the 3 nights) and is very clean. The showers we great which made all the difference after blustery walks on the beach! The welcome tray was a nice touch, as was the Sky TV in the kitchen and Apple TV in the lounge! The cottage has a quirky charm that made us fall in love with it. We’ve stayed in a few places in St Ives and this was, by far, our favourite.

The close proximity to Island car park is a real bonus.

We enjoyed walking around the town (2 minutes from the cottage!) and had THE BEST cream teas at Sky’s Cafe. We had a delicious dinner at The Rum & Crab Shack (crab macaroni cheese!!) and enjoyed some fudge from Rolys.

It was also a good spot to tour the Poldark filming locations from!

Can’t recommend this cottage enough. In fact I’ve already passed the details to 3 friends who are hoping to book over the next few months.
