About Andy & Emma Giddings

Hi we are a family of four that have holidayed in St Ives for over 20 years and are now very excited to own our first home here. 2016 will be exciting for The Giddings family, St Ives is our second home and we look forward to welcoming many guests to share our new home with us. If we could have brought the fantastic reviews across from the previous owners of 4 St Eia we would have done. We make as many trips as we can each year driving all the way from Essex! Now our boys are older we spend many a day on Porthmeor Beach Body Boarding as a family come rain or shine! Porthgwidden Beach is another favourite of ours, both of which are a stones throw from 4 St Eia. Location was key for us! We know St Ives very well, have made many friends and contacts over the years and are happy to try and answer any questions you may have. We hope you enjoy St Ives as much as we do, it really is unique! Emma, Andy, Jack & Harry Giddings.

Why Andy & Emma Giddings chose St Ives

This cottage is perfect for a beach holiday, there are three beautiful beaches that are within 5mins walk of the house, Porthmeor which is a great surfing beach, Porthgwidden which is perfect for families and the Harbour beach which enjoys the views of the town. The location is ideal for families as it is all on the flat, no big hills to climb whilst carrying surfboards! You can even glimpse the sea from the master bedroom!

What makes this cottage unique

This cottage really is in a fantastic location it is handy for everything. We are within a five minute walk to the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth museum. There is the local Norway Stores which is handy for day to day groceries and the odd bottle of wine which is again is less than a five minute walk. Again it is a five minute walk to the pier which is perfect for late afternoon crabbing. There are a number of excellent restaurants within the town and you can be down on Fore Street within 5minutes walking at a very leisurely pace! It is possible to do a Tesco home delivery for when you arrive which is something that lots of people do.

fantastic stay in st ives in a beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

we had a great 3 days in St Ives, in a renovated cottage that was finished to a very high specification and situated in a perfect location, central to all amenities.

we have stayed in St Ives many times and always loved it, across the road from the cottage is a lovely quaint tea room, called Olives, well worth a visit as they have all home made cakes and scones.

All of the restaurants on the island are recommended, food, ambience and friendliness are a main characteristic.

A big thanks to Emma and Andy for allowing us to stay in their beautiful cottage.....................................We will be back

Fishermans Cottage St Aia Street

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is very stylish inside. It is really lovely. The three of us stayed there for a week and we became very fond of it. I hope people realize the front door is a barn door. You can open the top half and let the fresh air of the street come into the kitchen. We had some problems with the washing machine and it was sorted out immediately by Andy and Emma. St Ives is an amazing place and the cottage is right in the middle of it.. A magical experience.

Long weekend break (Thursday to Sunday)

  • 5 of 5

Not our first visit to St Ives but our first visit to this cottage. We were really pleased with the location, being only 5 minutes to the car park and to the harbour, but even more delighted with the cottage. You enter directly into the well appointed kitchen/diner that contains all the essentials for everyday living, including a nice welcome pack. The first flight of stairs takes you up to a practical and cosy living area with TV, DVD and NOW TV access. The next flight of stairs takes you to the 2nd floor twin bedroom and shower/toilet. Progressing up the third flight of stairs to the double bedroom and en-suite. All rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable furnished with a nautical flavour. Full marks to our hosts for converting this cottage in such a modern yet characterful way. As with any cottage set over 4 floors you have to be prepared for the flights of stairs. That said we had a wonderful stay in a quite, convenient clean cottage that was as described in the advert. Thank you to Andy & Emma.
