About the property

Fantastic position with sea view, beach 150mts, sleeps 4 persons in comfort.

This property is in an unique position overlooking the bay of Maladroxia, and being only 150 mts from the beach makes it ideal for those who just want to chill out, and one of the best examples in this price range.

The property is very well kept and almost new with plenty of space for up to 4 persons.

The villette consists of 2 bedrooms one with double bed and one with 2 singles both have air con.

1 bathroom with shower, wc, basin, bidet, washing machine, hallway leading to living area which has a sofa which can also be used as a bed if required but we stress that not more than 4 persons even though there are 5 beds in total. Large patio doors leading to a very large veranda for eating outside.

Tv, fully fitted modern kitchen, air con, all utensils for cooking, pots and pans. From the veranda you have a panoramic sea view of the bay below and this part of the coast does not get to windy and the sea is mainly calm.

This villette is perfect for families or couples and parking is no problem.

Close by there is the town of Sant'Antioco.

From Cagliari airport it takes around an hour by car to reach Sant'Antioco and is one straight road, you just stay on the SS130 and don't come off.

When you arrive in San'Antioco you will find supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, etc this is where you will do your shopping as there are no shops in Maladroxia, Sant'Antioco is just 10 minutes from the villa.

This island is connected with a road bridge and is still a thriving fishing port where you can still buy fresh fish daily from the fishermen as they return with the nights catch, but you will have to be up early!......Also on the island there are many sandy beaches but the best ones are at Maladroxia, then a short drive you have Calasetta which is another harbour of fishing boats plus the ferry to San Pietro island and the town of Carloforte, once again a fishing port.

So a great place to explore.

Airport transfer is available at extra cost and must be booked in advance. I use a professional company.

Buggerru. Ancient mining center offering today a beautiful wild coast and a long sandy shoreline that starts from the town of San Nicolò and arrives at Portixeddu.

Going north you can reach the  Costa Verde where you will find a wilderness and spectacular beaches surrounded by sand dunes such as Scivu and piscinas and the ghost mining village of Ingurtosu.

South Coast there is Punta Trettu and Porto Botte. Perfect beaches for kite surf lovers. Even if you do not practice "kite" Stop for a few minutes and admire the dozens of colorful kites in the sky.

Port de Su Trigue. Beautiful white sandy beach and turquoise waters unfortunately subject to the phenomenon of the Boulders that periodically remove or deposit the sand from time to time that will form the arena of the beach.

Porto Pino. Extremely fine white sandy beach and turquoise waters. The coast is divided into three beaches: The first, the second and the dunes. The last two are preferred as wild and less crowded.

The Famous dunes are only accessible by foot along the beach and it is strictly forbidden to cross them.

Arriving at the beautiful beaches, admire the beautiful lagoons populated by numerous bird species.

Towards Cagliari

Walking along the beautiful panoramic road towards Teulada you will encounter postcard beaches among them, Porto Tramatzu, Tuerredda and Chia with turquoise waters and breathtaking views.

Sant'Antioco. The Island is connected to the land by a bridge. The best beaches are located in the south and In the northwestern part.

The west coast is still very wild and characterized by high cliffs with jagged rocks with a chance to enjoy spectacular views.

Starting from Sant'Antioco, in the south, and by completing the circumnavigation of the Island you will find:

Maladroxia. The preferred beach for families offering many services: there are bars, kiosks and restaurants.

Coequaddus. It offers crystal clear waters and lush vegetation along the coast

Cala Sapone. Small quay between outcrops gullies and islets reachable both on foot and by swimming.

Nearby there are some restaurants that offer typical cuisine.

Cala Lunga. A characteristic creek similar to a fjord embedded in wildlife.

Spiage Grande. Great Beach. It is a long and beautiful beach (about 1600 meters) featuring soft golden sand.

The Saline. Fine white and crystal clear waters of the Saline. The name derives from the old saltwater where they made salt, now of course not in use. Next to it is a beautiful beach.

Sottotorre/ below the tower.

With white calm waters the colour of emeralds.  Located in Calasetta's city center.

At the foot of the Sabauda tower of the XVIII century there is a bar / restaurant with magnificent sunsets.

Portopaglietto. Golden sand and calm waters sheltered from the majestic winds. There are two restaurants Where you can enjoy seafood specialties.

La Caletta. Small cove in the historical center of the village frequented by the local families.

For nature lovers, we suggest a non-demanding trekking of (about 6 km A / R) from the small pine forest to Capo Altano the  route takes you along a small dirt road overlooking the sea immersed in the Mediterranean shrub. Once you arrive you will enjoy a landscape which is enchanting which ranges from Sant'Antioco to the Tower at Cala Domestica.

North Coast

The coastal stretch between Portoscuso and Buggerru is considered one of the most fascinating of the Mediterranean. It follows the SP 108, a beautiful panoramic road linking Portoscuso to Gonnesa. Where you can find Portopaglia beach and the village of the same name, an ancient settlement used during the season of tuna fishing and today converted to a tourist residence. Going northward, the Gonnesa coast offers the beaches of Punta S'Arena and Plagemesu (Middle Beach). The beaches are equipped with some beach bars and restaurants.

Nebida is an old mining settlement that has become a must for lovers of trekking Sports climbing and water sports. Do not miss the walk along the belvedere restaurant.Which offers spectacular views of the sea, ancient mining facilities and faraglions. Portu Cauli - Masua. There are two small beaches with excellent services for tourists from which it is possible to do Boat excursions, canoes or pedalos to the discovery of the Pan di Zucchero  (imposing high calcareous rock of 133m) with the beautiful coast full of wild caves and creeks.

For lovers of history  not to Miss a visit to the Porto Flavia mining site at Masua

Cala Domestica. Wild beach surrounded by dunes and ancient mining ruins.  When you arrive at the beach there are rocks on either side, but on the right there is a small tunnel / cave if you pass through this tunnel there is a hidden intimate beach.

About Stephen Morgan

Hello and im glad you have decided to come to Sardinia, well my name is Stephen i am in my 60's and i used to live in the UK in beautiful city of Bristol, and ran my own business for 30 years, i brought up a family and had quite a good life, but something was missing. I wanted a life more natural and was fed up with the tredmill of life, then my wife died when she was quite young, my kids were all grown up and independent, so i thought why not just up ang go and start a new life, so here i am in Sardinia, i have been here over 11 years now and i enjoy my life doing all the things that i always wanted to do, like trekking, mountain biking, sailing, fishing, i grow my own fruit and vegetables and live a healthy lifestyle in a warm climate and i do not miss the UK but i do miss speaking English, so to get over this i rent out holiday homes, which are mainly owned by friends i have met here but do not have the time to rent, Also it is more of a passion for me than for money as i get to meet lots of people from all over the world. So why not join me in some of my adventures, I am more than willing to show people around or go trekking in the mountains and my time is free. Or in the summer arrange things like sailing aboard a luxury sailing boat and once again my time is free.

Why Stephen Morgan chose Maladroxia

This property is owned by a lovely lady that lives on the mainland in Italy and has asked me to help in renting the property to tourists, so after looking at this property i was more than willing to help, because this property is in a beautiful location and just 150mts from one of the best beaches around these parts. Its in a small village of Maladroxia on the Island of Sant'Antioco linked by a road bridge. The view from the veranda is spectacular.

What makes this apartment unique

Has to be that the property is just 150 mts from the beach, has a sea view with a very large veranda, 2 bedrooms and air con, lots of space, parking, easy access from Cagliari airport. All in all this is a very nice apartment and one i would buy myself. Maladroxia is a very quiet village so if you want some peace and quiet or to just chill out this place is perfect with the beach just 150 mts for your morning swim.

Maladroxia makes up part of the island Sant 'Antioco on the south west coast of Sardinia. Maladroxia is a very small village and very quiet, although the beach can get quite crowded at peak times of the year mainly because it is such a nice beach and protected from the winds, on the beach there are one or two beach bars but only in the summer. The beach is about 150 mts from the front door so you do not have far to walk for a swim in the crystal clear water in the bay.

Sant'Antioco is about 5 klms from Maladroxia where you will find all the main shops and supermarkets plus bars, restaurants, and cash points and banks, it is important to have a car to do shopping as there are no supermarkets in Maladroxia, or if you are up to it i might be able to find you a couple of bikes as the journey is very flat with no hills. SantìAntioco and Calasetta are both ports and house many profesional fishermen so fresh fish is no problem, there is even a boat which takes you out to collect the fish they catch and then eat them for lunch.

There are many festivals in Sant'Antioco and Calasetta with the biggest being the Tuna festival in June and well worth a visit if you like to eat tuna. There are some ancient ruins in Sant'antioco only discovered a few years ago and still work goes on excavating bits and pieces.

The drive from Cagliari airport should take about 1hr 30 mins to arrive at Maladroxia and is more or less one straight road. The area of Sant'Antioco is surrounded by the lagoon of Sant'Antioco and is a good place for bird watchers and home to many spieces of Flamingoes and water fowl, plus becoming popular for wind surfing and kite surf. You will find just on the island itself that there is a lot to explore.
