About the property

Sleeps 6, private large Pool, very quiet area, beautiful beaches 8 minutes drive

Frangipani is a luxury and rather unique construction. It was built in Summer 2015, designed by an architect in the style of Salento’s traditional "pajara houses".

The exterior resembles an old stone house, which respects the typical architecture and landscape of the area. Nevertheless, it was built in compliance with "A-class” energetic/insulation/ecological standards.

There are two constructions in the property, the Frangipani main house and The Depandance (for information only, this is a separate construction which the owners do not normally make available for rent).

The property comprises 1.6 HA (16,500 sqm) peaceful olive tree grove, located west of Sannicola, just minutes away from Salento’s beautiful coastline and cultural attractions.

Frangipani is used by the owners as their own holiday escape and is only occasionally rented to selected tenants (in this sense it is not typically rented to "group of friends" but to referenced families only).

Interior:

a single floor and elegantly furnished stone villa with a combination of antiques and modern design furniture.

Frangipani consists of a large living-room (>50 sqm) including an open kitchen, a dining area with an old wooden dining table with Kartell Plexiglas chairs, two white sofas, satellite TV, fireplace and large windows, one giving a picturesque view of the olive grove and the other leading to a large patio and the pool. The living room gives access to a nicely decorated toilette/washing room and a storage room (incl. washing machine, microwave and an extra fridge).

The living-room leads to the large front patio (a 90 sqm covered area) equipped with a furtrher additional external kitchen, a large sofa, wooden Adirondack chairs, and a large dining table for up to 14 people).

From the living room a glass door leads to a corridor, then to four double bedrooms (two of them with direct access to a further rear 20sqm covered patio) and two other bathrooms (one en-suite to the master bedroom the other serving the other three rooms).

Please note that only three rooms will be made available as standard to the tenants, as one is kept closed by the owner for storage purposes. Special requests to make available the fourth room and the may be considered, but a "per-night supplement" will apply.

All windows are double glazed and equipped with mosquito nets.

The villa is equipped with top quality appliances, including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge and freezers, toaster, kettle and air conditioning

Exterior/garden/pool:

The villa’s front patio leads to the garden and the beautiful sand color 12x5 mt private pool (including a 2x5 mt low-water beach to sun-tan). The pool has a diamond shaped floor (depth 120 to 270 cm) and is equipped with a diving-board on one side. It is surrounded by a natural white stone flooring with a generous space for long-chairs to sun-bath.

Frangipani is included in a 16,500 sqm (1.6 HA) old olive trees grove where you will actually hardly hear a sound, other than birds and crickets. The property is surrounded by a beautiful hand built stone-wall, made by local carpenters with an old technique and high standards to respect the area’s carachteristic landscape.

The villa is also equipped with a large external cooking area with separate one-fire boost cooker, a large basin, a barbecue and also a professional round 120 cms diameter pizza oven. Use of the pizza oven is possible but instructions/guidance from the housekeeper is needed.

Location:

The property is located in an olive grove in the countryside between the villages of Galatone and Sannicola (actually closer to the latter). There you can find all shops one may need, a post offices, two banks and supermarkets for groceries.

Guests can very easily reach both sandy beaches and rocky coastline, North and South of Gallipoli within about 10 minutes driving.

For a drink, shopping, etc guests may want to drive to Gallipoli, Nardo', Galatone, Galatina (all within 10 minutes) or even Lecce (25 mins driving), a pearl for the lovers of the baroque architechture, where they will likely return many many times, to take advantage of a great nightlife, shopping, culture, food opportunities.

Other info:

Frangipani is looked after by Livio and Carmela, a trusted couple who live in the proximities.

Livio is the 'master of the garden' and will provide guests with the fresh available garden vegetables from the villa's very own vegetable garden. He also takes care of general maintenance and cleans the pool once a week (included in the rates, in the periods when the pool is open). Carmela is the housekeeper and is able to prepare unbelievably good typical local dishes for the guests upon request and reimbursement of the costs incurred (this has to be agreed and settled directly with her).

About Patrizia & Stefano

Patrizia and Stefano are were 'adopted by Salento' and its wonderful people. They have three grown up girls, two Weimaraner dogs and a cat. For most of the past twentyfive years the family has been living outside of Italy (Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Bucharest and currently in Prague). About eight years ago they spent a first holiday in Salento and, the following year started a long search to find the right property to buy. Three years were spent to find the right olive grove, in a good area, possibly with an old trullo to restructure. PajaraFrangipani is their life project and it's the place where they dream to return the very minute after they leave ... as a promise, you will feel the same.

Nobody will disturb you, apart from Livio who will bring whatever is available to taste from your private vegetable garden, and Carmela the housekeeper for cleaning duties.

Attractions & culture within reach: do you want to enjoy nightlife, culture, good food or elegant restaurants? take the car and drive a maximum of 25 mins. to Gallipoli, Galatina, nardo', Lecce..., and then be happy to return home and sleep in a place where the only noise that can disturb your sleep is the one of crickets and wild birds.

What makes this villa unique

We believe it's just a fantastic compromise between elegance, relax, beautiful coastline & beaches, food & culture. Frangipani is right at the heart of Salento.

It's not a place to sleep during a cheap holiday escape and, with due respect, it's not definitively an "IKEA style holiday house". It's instead our home built with love for our own pleasure. It is made available from time to time for rent to selected referenced tenants. Such a luxury place won't probably cost much more than most (sometimes quite disputable) b&bs in the increasingly popular Salento area.

This villa has the benefit of having a beautiful pool with sun beds and a low water sunbathing area, the peacefulness of being immersed in a beautiful quiet olive grove, the comfort of being able to go both to the beach or simply relax by the pool and, last but not least, a vegetable garden on your doorstep.

Simply Stunning

This is absolutely the best villa we have stayed in so far. Everything about it is perfect. It sits in a very large plot of land offering great privacy to simply chill and in a great spot to either take a walk around the surrounding lanes and olive groves, or into Sannicola for a coffee and morning snack or to drive further afield to explore Salento. We visited with our two adult daughters and their partners and could all enjoy our holiday together or find a little corner for our own privacy. Photos do not do this villa justice. It is stunning. It is also perfectly equipped; we wanted for absolutely nothing. The owners, Patrizio and Stefano kept in touch should we need anything and Livio and Carmella, who look after the villa in their absence, were also extremely helpful.

Dream vacation home in the perfect location...

We stayed at Villa Frangipani in July 2017 and we couldn't have made a better choice. The villa is extremely beautiful - both inside and outside - with fantastic terraces, a well-equipped kitchen, a huge garden (with delicious tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, herbs, old olive trees etc.) and a lovely pool. The house has been built recently and therefore offers all modern amenities one could possibly ask for and everything is very well-maintained, also thanks to housekeepers Livio and Carmela who are available to help out during one's stay (not nevessary in our case as the owners gave us very good instructions and fantastic restaurant recommendations😀).

The location of the house was simply ideal for us: We wanted to be close to the major attractions of the Salento like Gallipoli, Lecce, beaches such as Porto Selvaggio and country towns like Galatina or Nardò, without staying in one of the more touristy spots along the coast. The villa offers all of that, being just 5 minutes from an exit of the Gallipoli-Lecce highway and shopping facilities, but at the same time feeling like a private secluded oasis.

In essence: We would happily return to Villa Frangipani any time and can only congratulate everyone who is going there on vacation on having chosen a true dream destination.

Everything was perfect! The villa itself is stunning and beautifully decorated. The vegetable garden at our disposal was a great plus....fresh vegetables at hands. Amazing pool! Beaches are a short drive away, so is the small town and supermarket. Carmela and Livio are also of great help in the day to day. The owners as well are always available to solve any issue as well. Will love to go back!

An Oasis in the Desert of Olive Groves

The reality of the property far outweighs what the photos can convey! The villa is spacious as are the grounds and the pool. The villa is also ideally placed as it is secluded but, with the use of a car, allows an ideal spot to go to the lively villages, towns and beaches.

The pool is by far one of the best we have had the pleasure to use with it's small shelf that would be great for parents and small children to play together as well as a ledge all around the sides to enable older children / adults to stand in the pool, as well as having the facility of depth in the middle for diving and jumping.

The kitchen is well equipped and the living area with it's domed high ceiling provides plenty of light giving the feel of space even with 6 adults / teens in the same room.

Being able to pick fresh strawberries and vegetables was an unexpected welcome bonus that enhanced our stay.

Livio saved the day when we accidentally locked ourselves out, coming to our rescue at 9pm in the evening. Having the ability to make contact with Stefano, Patrizia, Livio & Carmela led to a stress free holiday and helped us to settle in quickly.

We have no hesitation in recommending this villa to others, hence the 5 stars!

Beautiful Villa !

This property is stunning , has an amazing outdoor space and pool area ! We had a lovely ten days here. The owners of this property were extemely helpful from start to finish and kept in contact which was very reassuring. The housekeeper Carmela was a warm ,welcoming and lovely lady and her husband Liviio the same.

I would happily stay at this property again , having stayed at many villas in europe over the years this was by far one of the nicest !! My kids loved the pool which was very well placed away from the house and substantial in size and depth !

endroit de rêve

Nous avons séjourné 15 jours du 8 au 22/7/2017. Première semaine 38°, heureusement qu’il y avait la piscine. Magnifique piscine avec plongeoir (2m70 de profondeur à cet endroit) petite plage avec 20 cm de profondeur pour les enfants plus petits ou pour s’allonger. Grand domaine sur 10 hectares avec des oliviers, un potager où on peut se servir d’aubergines, poivrons, tomates, fraises… La villa qui a été construite en 2015 est bien pensée avec des puits de lumière, un feu ouvert, tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner, airco et moustiquaires à toutes les fenêtres. Une décoration qui pourrait figurer dans un magazine tel que Marie-Claire, avec des lampes de chevet toutes plus belles les unes que les autres. Merci à Stefano et Patrizia de nous faire partager leur villa. Merci aussi à Livio et Carmela pour leur aide et leur sympathie. Supermarché à 2 km, boulanger à 1km, Gallippoli et la mer à 8 km. Gallipoli très animé le soir. C’est la première fois que nous louions une villa, nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Frangipani villa is located in the hearth of Salento in an olive tree grove, a very quiet and secluded area. It's easily reachable from both the Bari and Brindisi airports with a rented car: approximately two hours from Bari and less than an hour from Brindisi. It's a large four lanes straight road from the airport to the SS101 exit to Sannicola.

The villa is approximately 0.6 miles from Sannicola Village where Guests can find good quality groceries (Sannicola it's about a 20 minutes walk).

A car is necessary to reach the place, but not a must if you want to stay there for a relaxing holiday (there's a beautiful pool in a beautiful olive tree grove and one may even decide to stay at home and relax). There are private car hire with driver from Brindisi Airport, and the cost to Villa Frangipani is in the region of 100/120 euro.

Of course, if you rent a car you can truly enjoy the many beauties of Salento, not only beaches but also cultural places. You are just 10 minutes away from a beautiful seaside and few minutes more to the busy old maritime village of Gallipoli, approximately 20/25 minutes driving from the old baroque town of Lecce, one of the top old towns in Italy, the pearl of Salento with its white stone old architechture, bars and restaurants and a bustling nightlife.

The whole Salento area deserves at least a one week stay to enjoy the beautiful varied coastline (both beaches and rocks) and the many old typical villages.

In Salento you will find first of all a very warm hospitality, good weather, incredible wines and good food at very reasonable prices.

As we do, you will start the morning with newspaper, "caffe' (espresso) and cornetto" or "pasticciotto" (a typical yummy yummt sweet made with sweet pastry and cream). Later on you will go to a local caseificio and will enjoyy the best mozzarella in your life (yes, mozzarella is only made by artisans ... sometimes on the spot). Then, let's go home and prepare your lunch, possibly with vegetables from the garden (in Puglia a tomato which is older than a single day is only suitable used to prepare the sauce (called salsa or sugo, ... you don't want it in your salad, it's way tooo old). Afternoon you may want to see something cultural, maybe the old town of Galatina or the old port of Gallipoli for a Caffe' in ghiaccio con latte di mandorla (try it ... you'll not regret) or Nardo', or Lecce for some shopping. Everywhere you go, you could stay for aperetif and dinner, and you'll again taste a wonderful pizza, or pasta, or frutti di mare crudi, or ... everything is good and fanny enough it's easier to eat well at the right price than vice-versa. Ah... forgot to include in your ideal day the beautiful coastline east (adriatico, Otranto side) and west (ionio, Gallipoli side) with the many excursions to the caves. Again, beautiful. This is Salento, and as we did, you will fell in love and nobody will be surprised of your decision, one day, to buy something there to spend all your future holidays or your buen-retiro ...

THE PROPERTY IS AVAILABLE FOR CHECK-IN AFTER 3 PM ON THE ARRIVAL DAY, TYPICALLY ON A SATURDAY. CHECK-OUT SHOULD BE COMPLETED ON THE LAST DAY OF STAY BY 10 AM. FOR CK-IN AND CK-OUT THE OWNERS WILL TRY TO BE AS FLEXIBLE AS POSSIBLE, IF NO OTHER GUESTS ARE OCCUPYING THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR ARRIVAL.

PLEASE NOTE THAT RATES INCLUDE POOL CLEANING ONCE A WEEK IN THE PERIOD THE POOL IS OPEN (I.E. AS STANDARD FROM 1ST OF JUNE TO 30TH OF SEPTEMBER). HOWEVER THE POOL MAY BE ALSO OPENED IN OTHER PERIODS UPON REQUEST WITH A SURCHARGE OF EURO 160 PER WEEK. FURTHERMORE THE POOL MAY BE CLEANED MORE OFTEN DURING THE WEEK UPON REQUEST TO BE MADE TO THE HOUSEKEEPERS. ARRANGEMENTS AND PAYMENT OF THIS SERVICE (EURO 15 EVERY TIME THE POOL IS CLEANED) HAS TO BE SETTLED LOCALLY DIRECTLY WITH THE HOUSEKEEPERS.

THE HOUSE WILL BE CLEANED BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL. IF REQUESTED, LOCALLY ARRANGED AND PAID DIRECTLY TO THE HOUSEKEEPERS IT CAN BE CLEANED AS MANY TIMES A WEEK AS YOU LIKE, DEPENDING ON THE HOUSEKEEPER'S AVAILABILITY.

IF YOU STAY FOR MORE THEN A WEEK THE HOUSEKEEPER WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH CLEAN BLANKETS AND TOWELS ON THE SATURDAY AFTER YOUR ARRIVAL, AND IN GENERAL ON SATURDAYS THEREAFTER.

WE ACCEPT ONE WELL BEHAVED DOG IN THE PROPERTY. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE'S A SEPARATE DAILY FEE APPLICABLE FOR THIS.

THE PROPERTY IS AN IDEAL SOLUTION FOR FAMILIES. PLEASE NOTE THAT TWO BABY COTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE UPON REQUEST.
