Aboutime Cottage is a wonderful detached cottage situated in the village of Parkend, eleven miles from Monmouth in Gloucestershire. Set over three floors, this cottage sleeps ten people in five bedrooms, consisting of two ground floor zip/link king-size doubles, one with en-suite, a ground floor double with an en-suite, a ground floor twin and a second floor double with balcony. The cottage also has a first floor kitchen with breakfast bar, a first floor sitting room with dining area, a second floor bathroom and a ground floor bathroom. Outside there's off road parking for four cars and an enclosed lawned garden with decked area and furniture. Aboutime Cottage is an ideal base for families with plenty of walks and cycle routes to explore in the area. Amenities: Electric underfloor heating throughout. Rangemaster electric cooker with double oven and 5-ring hob, microwave, fridges, freezer, dishwasher. Washing machine and tumble dryer in external utility. TV with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, WiFi. Beautifully Presnted Property in Pleasant Central location

The property was as described and easy to find .

On entry we were very impressed with the quality of the finish , furnishings and cleanliness. The house is immaculately presented .

The large kitchen and common lounge were ideal for the 9 of us( 7 adults and 2 children) . Bedrooms and linked bathrooms are of a high quality - a credit to the designers and owners There is easy flat access to the patio and garden and our two small grandchildren delighted in the safe environment to run about in.

One drawback is that whilst this amazing house looks in keeping with older properties it is more '' modern living''.The open plan accommodation and spiral staircase allows sound to travel throughout and with wooden floors and young children waking early , for us , this was a little trying . For older groups without this issue the accommodation is ideal and is certainly 'up market'.

A welcome pack of local produce was well received, thank you, and contact with the owners was helpful and supportive .

Parkend is not the quietest village- with local commuter traffic passing from early a.m. but it was quiet at night and provided an excellent place to travel out from . Steam railway and Cycle hire locally ( or better further into the forest at the cycle centre which is closer to cycle ways for children) gave us great days out. Chepstow surprised us all with its quality shops town centre and castle. Tintern Abbey and the Wye valley are of course magical .. For our meal out ( an early evening foray with the grandchildren!! ) we went to The Woolaston Inn- A Nepali/ Gurkha restaurant - reasonably priced with excellent food and delightful staff who took to the grandchildren immediately and even provided complimentary chicken nuggets and chips!! There is something for everyone in this area which we very much enjoyed .
