About the property

Big rooms. Close to all amenities (grocery store, metro station),10 min to metro

It's a very big house, really big, with big windows and high ceilings.

The living room was originally 2 rooms which have been combined to make a very very large room with sofas, a big TV, a really good sound system and a piano. The rooms features a lovely bay window.

The kitchen is very very large with all the cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment you would want to feed lots of people!

The house has a Dishwasher, Washing Machine and Dryer.

I try and keep it stocked with tea, coffee, salt, pepper, oil, baking foil, clingfilm, tupperware etc. There is a dining table and chairs, and it has lovely underfloor heating.

There is a washing machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer, etc.

There is super-fast broadband wireless internet!

There are 2 full, modern bathrooms (one with a shower room), as well as a W.C. on the ground floor and an en-suite W.C. on the top floor double bedroom. So there will be no delays in the morning waiting for everyone to get ready!

There are 3 double bedrooms on the second floor with very comfortable mattresses and a double bedroom with a Juliette balcony on the top floor.

There are 2 double sofa beds in the living room with extremely comfortable mattresses (designed to be comfortable even when slept on every night) and a double sofa bed in the bedroom in the first photo. There is also an extendable dining table with 14 chairs. This has been put into the house recently so is not shown in the photos.

There is parking about 2 minutes walk away, It requires putting parking vouchers on your car which I can provide, but please let me know before you make the booking!

The entire house is very beautifully decorated with artefacts from Myanmar (Burma).

I try and make sure there are a few travel shampoos, travel shower gels and travel toothpastes in the property so people can have a shower when they first come in, but after that toiletries will need to be provided by yourself (Toilet roll is provided).

The checkout time is 10:00 and the check-in time is 15:30 onward. This can often be altered if you contact me before booking to let me know :-)

As hosts it's my job to make your holiday and smooth and fun as possible. With that in mind, we've filled the apartment with things you'll need. This includes:

*Toilet paper

*Hair dryer

*Towels

*Bedding

*Kettle (with tea and coffee)

*A flat-screen TV

*Travel shower gel and shampoo

The apartment is only a 4 minute walk from the local shop if you are looking to cook at home.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

I will be there to meet you and check you in, and show you the flat. After that I am always on the other end of the phone/SMS/whatsapp/the website.

THE AREA/PARKING

West Hampstead is a very desirable and VERY SAFE area!

There is parking about 3 minutes walk away. It is restricted parking between 10-12 in the day but I have guest parking vouchers you can put on your car for this time. Please let me know before booking if you will be bringing a car.

HOUSE RULES

No parties are permitted at the property out of respect to our neighbours.

All bed linen, towels etc. are provided free.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Ideally positioned within short walk of West Hampstead's Jubilee Line, London Overground and Thames link stations. West End Lane's popular restaurants, bars, coffee shops and supermarkets are 1 minute away. The house, however, is on a beautiful, quiet residential street.

The O2 centre, which has a cinema and restaurants, is less than 10 minutes away.

GETTING AROUND

10 minutes walk to West Hampstead Overground station and Jubilee line underground, it is 10 minutes from there to King's Cross or Baker Street.

10 minutes on one of 3 buses which take you directly to the British Museum, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, the West End, etc.

London is a great place to meet a wide range of people, there is always something to do whatever time of the day it is. You could stay here for 3 months and still feel like there is so much more to discover.

Beautiful house in a lovely part of London with plenty of space for a large group.

We were surprised at the size of the property and easily could have fit 14 sharing beds including two sofa beds in the living room. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking and the table was large enough for all of us. The host was welcoming and helpful. A few small things could be fixed such as the downstairs loo and a wall mount for the shower for extra comfort. The train station is quite a walk away in town but buses are frequent. Overall we enjoyed our stay and especially touches such as ample bedding, towels and toiletries being provided etc which made it easy and comfortable.

A fuir --- nuits difficiles ! maison mal entretenu

La description de l'annonce (emplacement, disposition et équipements de la location) correspondait-elle à la réalité ?

Le logement est spacieux et situé à 10 bonnes minutes à pied de la station de métro West Hampstead

La propriété était-elle propre et bien entretenue ?non

nous avons trouvé une bouteille de bière en verre vide sous un canapé

beaucoup de poussière sous les lits, sur la télévision...

un tapis de bain plein d'eau et qui sentait le moisi dans la machine à laver le linge

l'ensemble des draps,taies et housse de couette n'étant pas propre (tâches) nous avons passé du temps dès notre arrivé à faire 2 machines à laver

nous avons également fait la vaisselle avant même de l'utiliser car elle était sale (et nous découvrons alors que le lave vaisselle n'est pas nettoyé ; il y a des restes de produit vaisselle en poudre partout)

il manque une fixation sur un abattant de WC ce qu'il fait qu'il se balade à droite et à gauche

les peintures de la maison sont en mauvais état surtout au niveau des portes et bâti de portes

très difficile d'avoir une eau de douche bien "mitigée" ni trop chaude ni trop froide ; dû à l'installation

ET SURTOUT:

les rideaux ne sont pas assez occultant

du coup vous ne dormez pas dans le noir

la maison étant dans une rue en côte, à chaque fois (cela arrive plusieurs fois par nuit) que des voitures viennent du bas de la rue, elles vous éclairent la chambre de la lumière de leurs phares

Le propriétaire vous a-t-il fourni de bons conseils ? aucun

le jour de notre arrivé il avait envoyé un ami et pas d'état des lieux d'entrée n'a été fait

le jour du départ il nous a été demandé par SMS de laisser les clés dans le logement ; pas d'état des lieux de sortie

il a fallut 3 semaines pour récupérer notre caution et seulement après réclamation

Recommanderiez-vous cette propriété à vos proches ?

absolument pas bien au contraire

car quand on paye ce ptarif par nuit l'on s'attend à un service/une propriété de qualité et sans défaut

nous avons passé de très mauvaises nuits à cause de la présence de lumière continuelle

nous avons commencé notre 1ere journée à nettoyer alors que le forfait ménage est obligatoire

notre bébé de 16 mois et compté au même tarif qu'un adulte alors que seul le lit parapluie était fourni

(si l'équipement de bébé était fourni: chaise haute, lit barreau et poussette cela serait déjà mieux justifié)

Owner's Response: This review came as quite a shock as none of the complaints had been communicated with me at any point during or after his stay. A lot that has been said is very unfair and untrue. I take hosting very seriously and this will have a huge impact on me as a host as it's my only review on this site. I have fifteen 5 star reviews for the house on another major site. A wonderful family, a shame they did not enjoy their stay.
