About patrick bowler

We immediately fell in love with the naturally beautiful location when we first visited in August 2010. Positioned in the shade of pine woods, protected by sand dunes and a short 75 metre walk to the magnificent beach it was easy to imagine a modern, contemporary beach house which will be completed to our design in March 2016. We have had a holiday home in the region for 11 years but this was an opportunity to build a uniquely striking property with all modern conveniences. We think our location is wonderful, because it is has beautiful natural surroundings and you can hear the surf and smell the sea! We have great pleasure in walking the beaches and forest, and cycling in the surrounding countryside and coastal routes. Although in a tranquil spot it is a short drive to the bustling towns of La Tranche, Jard sur Mer and Sables D’Olonne

This villa is ideal for family beach holiday. The garden gate leads onto a sandy lane that is 75 metres from the beach! so following a day on the beach relax in the pool, jacuzzi or just laze in the garden to enjoy the evening sun. Within driving distance Puy de Fou, Indian Forest and O'Gliss Park..a brand new water park

Unbeatable beach villa

We had some high expectations of Ocean Villa before we arrived but I am very pleased to report that these were exceeded in every respect. Accommodation was as described and was perfect for our families with quality equipment and finishes throughout and the extra provision of a baby bath was a very thoughtful and much appreciated gesture. Rob the house manager made the arrival and departure process very smooth and we had no need to call on his offer of any additional help during our stay. Of course the location virtually on the beach is second to none. There is plenty of interest in La Rochelle and Sables but the main appeal for us was the beach and bbq by the pool. All in all our families are very satisfied customers !

Ocean Villa is a beautiful villa, in a perfect location. We went there with my daughter, son and two grandchildren to celebrate my 70th birthday and all had the most fantastic week! We all loved the heated pool, hot tub and table tennis - as well as the stunning beach. The villa was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The exceptionally large open-planned kitchen/dining area/lounge area worked very well, although we spent most of our time outside! We did manage to explore several local villages/towns - La Tranche-sur-Mer, Jard-sur-Mer and Les Sables-d'Olonne which were all very interesting. However, it was hard to get the grandchildren to leave the villa! They did also have a fantastic day at the local O'Gliss Water Park which they thoroughly enjoyed. I can't recommend this villa highly enough and will definitely try and go back before too long.

Rob - the Villa Manager - was very helpful and it has been very good to be able to liaise directly with the owner, Patrick Bowler.

All-in-all an excellent week - thank you!

Great 2 weeks in the Ocean Villa

Our family had a great couple of weeks in this really well - appointed villa. Location is great for the beach with good surf (subject to weather!), There are a number of good restaurants in walking distance, between 400m and 2km, and the local Tabac (300m) has fresh croissants and baguettes daily, which are not good for the waistline. The local pizzeria (400m) also doubles as a bar if you just want a couple of beers.

La Rochelle, an amazing city, is just over an hour by car, park under the aquarium if you visit. La Tranche is only 15mins, has nice beaches and facilities and has a ferry to Ile De Re amongst others virtually daily. The Tourist Information centre in Saint Vincent Sur Jard (2km) is very helpful and you can book the local tennis courts there (150m from house) for €10/hr.

The local house manager Rob was very helpful when we were there and sorted any minor niggles or questions we had by phone. And considering the house was virtually brand new there were very few issues at all. There is a Casino supermarket in Longeville (about 4km) which appears to be open pretty much 24/7 during the peak season at least and sells cheap fuel as well as a decent meat & fish counter. Longeville market is well worth a visit on Fridays, but park at the Casino and walk in... Vive La France!

Our group of nine stayed in this villa in June. Fantastic location, only yards from a wide sandy beach stretching for miles. Lovely walk along along the sand to a great little restaurant where we had delicious freshly cooked crepes for breakfast one day. The house is extremely well equipped with everything you would need for a stress free holiday and the perfect living layout for a large group. We would highly recommend this villa, it's a gem.

Longeville sur Mer is an small, quiet, unspoilt family-friendly seaside village with a strong 'French' ambience, 60 minutes drive from La Rochelle airport or 3 to 4 hours from the St.Malo ferry. Close by, within 5-10 mins drive are the towns of La Tranche, St Vincent-sur-Jard, Jard-sur-Mer and slightly further away Sables D’Olonne. These towns have plenty of restaurants, bars and shops and in the summer months are lively with many free activities and street entertainment. This brand new contemporary villa, to be completed in March 2016 sleeps up to 12/13 It is in an amazing tranquil location discreetly hidden amongst the pines and dunes within 75 metres of the beach. The famous celebrity haunt Ile de Re is visible from the dunes. There is a boat trip to the island from Jard sur Mer harbour. This is great for walking, as well as water activities. The beach is well supervised, has several snack bars and a surf and sailing school. There are many cycle paths, forest walks, toddlers play areas, chateaux, Indian Forest adventure park, the amazing Puy De Fuy, water parks, go-karting and activities in abundance local to this property.

Refundable security deposit of £500 per week is required in case

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
