Birch Cottage is a fabulous holiday cottage close to Balmoral Castle in the Royal Deeside area of the Cairngorms, with a stunning glass wall which takes full advantage of the spectacular views from the garden onto Creag Namh Bahn. The cottage has four bedrooms, two twins and two ground floor doubles (one of which has an ensuite) which with the addition of a sofabed on the mezzanine makes it able to sleep ten people. There is a further family bathroom and ground floor toilet as well as a superb open plan living area which includes the fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with an open fire and doors to the patio. There is also a utility room with a drying room available. To the exterior of the cottage is an enclosed garden with patio areas and garden furniture with the addition of off road parking for five cars. Birch Cottage is a gorgeous holiday home fit for anyone wanting to visit this historical part of Northern Scotland. Amenities: Oil central heating with gas fire and open fire. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, TV, Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, books/DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 5 cars. Enclosed garden with patio areas and furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 6 miles, pub 5 miles. Note: Water supply is from a well, and is fully treated. Note: No stag/hen or similar.

We had a wonderful time

The property is great, quite remote yet within walking distance of Balmoral and a fifteen Minute drive to Ballater or Braemar. We were there with our three children, who really enjoyed the large garden and rambling up the hills around the property. The property itself was clean and has a lot of space. There is no pub or restaurant within walking distance and the house only has DVD, no BluRay. These are just things we noted and would have been important only if we'd have had a very rainy week, which we didn't. We can certainly recommend this property.
