A modern, Scandinavian style apartment sleeping up to 6 with 3 bathrooms

The Apartment:

3 bedrooms (1 en suite): Master bedroom with king size bed, en-suite bathroom and patio doors opening onto a terrace with double sofa, breakfast table and chairs; bedroom 2 with patio doors opening onto a terrace with sun lounger and breakfast table and chairs; bedroom 3 with corner window bay overlooking the pool. Each bedroom has lots of wardrobe space and there are 2 boilers for plenty of hot water for everyone to have showers

2 of the bedrooms can be configured as either a double or twin room, which guests can request in advance of their stay, ideal for more independent guests

Sleek modern kitchen with oven, microwave, halogen cooker, washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge and freezer opening on to a large terrace with wooden table and parasol for al fresco meals

Open plan living and dining room with cable TV, Sonos system, fibre optic internet and WIFI, which opens on to 2 terraces, 1 connects with the kitchen terrace, the other to the spectacular views over La Quinta golf course down to the sea. This terrace has a corner sofa, stool and two further chairs sat next to an island unit which has either a fire pit or drinks cooler depending on the season

Pool Area

The apartment has access to 2 pools: a medium size adult recreation pool and a child's paddling pool. The pools are shared, but because Valley Heights is a small development it is very unlikely to be crowded, often with fewer than 10 people all day. The adult infinity pool is surrounded by a large deck, which has its own sun loungers, parasols and sofa area; the children's pool is surrounded by soft astro-turf and some additional chairs. There are 2 showers and a toilet block on the pool deck, so no need to go back and forth to the apartment. It is worth noting that there are no lifeguards on duty at either pool in Valley Heights, however, for confident swimmers, you can overlook the pool from the terraces of the apartment to keep an eye on children

Other Amenities

Secure underground parking space to keep the car out of the sun. Storage room at car park level for safe storage of golf clubs, bikes, luggage or other items that guests would prefer not to leave in the car or the apartment. There is a lift to all floors of the apartment building. Air Conditioning throughout the apartment with dedicated outlets in each bedroom for faster cooling.

The apartment is fully furnished including all kitchen inventory and linens (which includes bathroom towels). To make the most of the Sonos sound system, I recommend you download the App to your phone before arriving so it is easy to connect

For Families

Previous guests have included families with children as young as 4 and 2 years old. They had a great time and the children made huge progress with their swimming by using the two pools. Families are welcome, but parents will need to be vigilant due to things like glass furniture, flat screen TV’s on table units, and the two most important things: terraces have furniture which children can climb on and therefore reach over the balcony edge and risk falling; and the pool has no lifeguard, so should be supervised where necessary

The Location

Valley Heights is off the Ronda road over looking La Quinta golf course, and while this provides a fantastic view and plenty of relaxation, it does mean you will need a hire car to get around. Many Spanish roads have no pedestrian pavement and so it is a short drive down the hill to Los Halcones to the nearest restaurant, café, pub, supermarket and pharmacy. If you are getting a taxi it is best to ask for Las Colinas instead of Valley Heights, which is the much older community on the corner that they know better. When you arrive and enter via the main entrance on the ground floor you will notice to the left an unfinished development (it shows up on Google images sometimes), which is little more than earth works and some breeze block shells – don’t worry! This isn’t the Spanish holiday story from hell about to unfold, once you enter you go down in the lift and the apartment faces out to sea as in the photos. Once you have the underground parking key and access the apartment from this route, you do not actually ever have to use the front entrance again, and won’t see the unfinished development

About Ross

I am a Yorkshireman who currently lives in London and although I like the cold when accompanied by snow in the mountains, I was looking for a place to relax in the sunshine. I am also very sporty and the healthy lifestyle is very prominent in Marbella (despite it's short summer reputation for the opposite!). It is also peaceful up in the valley, which is good to relax from a hectic career, but with the option to go and party in the harbour or down on the nearby beach when the mood suits

Why Ross chose Benahavís

I was shown Valley Heights by a friend who has lived in Marbella for over 20 years and they said that was one of the best quality developments they had seen (it was done by American developers). When I arrived the view is stunning and for me the situation of the apartment is ideal as I am a keen golfer and also a triathlete, so I wanted a place that was really close to several courses, but gave access to good roads and trails for cycling and running

What makes this apartment unique

You get the benefits of the Costa del Sol weather but without having to stay in a place with problems found in many locations in the area. Golf courses are genuinely accessible (whereas some places actually built on a golf course cannot access it and you have to drive through back lanes to get to the clubhouse!) and the party lifestyle that makes Marbella and Puerto Banus famous is there whenever you want it, just not on your doorstep all night and day

Great time in a lovely place

When we arrived we were very happy with the place. It was open, spacious and clean. The view is amazing. We spent most of our days relaxing by the pool - with the decking, loungers and the infinity pool it feels very luxurious. Ross told us where local shops were and they are close to the apartment and really handy. Overall we had a great holiday and the place helped with that, i would definitely recommend it.

Spacious apartment with unbeatable panoramic views

My other half and I went for some winter sun in January for my birthday and had a fantastic time. The apartment is very spacious with quality fixtures and fittings and the views over looking Marbella and the Med are quite something.

Breakfast is really enjoyable out on the wrap around balcony's large picnic table area which is a bit of a sun trap first thing in the morning.

There are more golf courses than you can play within a stones throw from the apartment and we played most days at a different course.

You are 10 minute drive from the centre of Marbs and the surrounding areas so close to the action but far enough away to also enjoy peace and quiet. The restaurants near the apartment are excellent quality too if you don't want to drive into San Pedro or Puerto Banus.

The pool is really nice and generally quiet with very nice loungers where you can relax in the late afternoon sun. The wrap around balcony also has a spacious seating area where you can enjoy a nice cocktail for Sundown before you go out in the evening.

Easy to find, great location and extremely nice apartment. Perfect for a relaxing week away where you would like access to great roads for cycling, swimming and running as well as perfectly positioned for a golf get away. Equally great for a weekend of wining and dining in Marbella.

Would recommend to stay and have booked to go again.

Family Stay

The place is great and so convenient for a family stay. The kids loved being 10m from the pool and driving into town was easy enough when they needed to hit the beach!

Valley Heights is in the heart of the Costa del Golf as it is often known, with the entrance to Los Arqueros less than 500m down the hill from the Valley Heights turning! Los Naranjos, La Quinta and Marbella Club are also within a few minutes drive and more easy to get to than from many other hotels and villa locations.

The nearest beach is the lovely sandy beach at San Pedro, itself a charming and more traditional town than neighbouring Puerto Banus. However, the apartment is a short drive down the hill to the junction to the Mediterranean Express motorway, which can quickly get you to Marbella in the East or Estepona, Tarifa and Gibraltar in the West.

Valley Heights is a tranquil development in the hills above Puerto Banus with all its exciting nightlife - you get the best of both worlds by being able to visit the harbour for a party night in Banus or Marbella, but not the inconvenience of having the party roaring through the night 2 floors below your bedroom!

The entrance to Valley Heights is also on the Ronda Road and therefore perfectly located for adventures inland to the town of Ronda or further afield by car or by bike on the well maintained roads.
