About the property

Bellevue apartment is a very comfortable, well-equipped apartment in an excellent location. The apartment is located in a peaceful position approximately 100m from the Bellevue cablecar and chairlift which give direct access to the Les Houches ski area. It is possible to ski back on either blue or black runs to within 50 metres of the apartment. Around the Bellevue cable car are ski hire shops and ski school office as well as some excellent restaurants, bars and shops including a boulangerie selling delicious pastries and fresh breakfast croissants. The nearest supermarket is approximately 8-10 minutes' walk.

The ski bus stops at the Bellevue cable car and runs regularly to the Prarion gondola (2mins) or into Chamonix (approx. 20 mins). In summer, the Bellevue and Prarion lifts are the starting points for some beautiful hikes with amazing views of the Mont Blanc mountain range.

The apartment has one double and one twin bedroom, both with comfortable beds and thick, warm duvets. Both bedrooms have spacious wardrobes with plenty of hanging space. In the living/dining area there is a large corner sofa which seats 4 people very comfortably, a fully equipped fitted kitchen with dishwasher, and solid wooden dining furniture. There is a bathroom with spacious cabinets, bath and Grohe shower over, and a separate toilet. From the living room, French doors open onto a large, south west facing patio with bistro table and four chairs, which is in sunshine all afternoon during the summer. The apartment has a private ski locker in the entrance to the chalet and a private parking space in the garage beneath the building.

We (Angela and Michael) live in Cowbridge, near Cardiff in South Wales. We bought our apartment when our two sons were young and we come to Les Houches several times a year, winter and summer, as a family and with friends.

The beautiful, dramatic scenery of the Chamonix valley and the variety of skiing, hiking and other activities available. Les Houches is a picturesque ski area with incredible views and great mountain restaurants and is perfect for skiing with mixed ability groups.

Lovely apartment located in the heart of Les Houches

This is a superb place to stay for a family of 4. We stayed for a skiing holiday and were not disappointed. It is as good as it looks on the photos; clean, tidy and well equipped. It has a great seating area for all 4 to enjoy. The underground garage and ski locker was a great bonus. Quick and helpful communication with the owners was provided throughout. The apartment is situated really convenient for the ski lifts. Definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. Thank you..

The Rhône-Alpes state

The region is fantastically varied and there are many interesting places to visit within an hour's drive of the Chamonix valley.

The resort of St. Gervais is a 20 minute drive away. It has a large, varied ski area which is good for families and is also famous for its spas. A little further on, and included in the same lift pass, is Megeve, an exclusive resort with expensive shops and restaurants.

The Italian resort of Courmayeur is approximately 30 minutes' drive from Les Houches (through the Mont Blanc tunnel). Courmayeur makes for a great day trip with its excellent skiing, good mountain restaurants and up-market little town with cobbled streets full of cafes and chic shops.

Verbier in Switzerland is about an hour's drive over the mountains and has a great ski area, gourmet restaurants and exclusive bars.

In summer,the picturesque old town and lake of Annecy and the city of Geneva, both about an hour away, make good day trips.

Les Houches

The first 'resort' in the Chamonix valley, Les Houches is a relaxed, self-contained village lying at the foot of Mont Blanc and surrounded by spectacular scenery. It has a variety of excellent restaurants, bars and characterful little shops including a great patisserie, as well as other amenities such as supermarkets, ski shops, church, tourist information, etc.

Les Houches has a beautiful, varied ski area characterized by tree-lined slopes surrounded by majestic peaks. It is ideal for families and mixed ability groups with 21 runs ranging from easy green runs at the top of the Bellevue and Prarion lifts to the challenging black men's worldcup downhill run where the famous 'Kandahar' race takes place in January. Les Houches has the best selection of mountain restaurants in the valley, some extremely picturesque nestled among the trees and some with great views. The restaurant at the top of the Prarion lift, with its large terrace and stunning views, is ideal for non-skiers to enjoy the atmosphere with skiing friends or relatives. It is possible to ski back to approximately 50 metres of the apartment, arriving just behind the Bellevue cable car. Very conveniently, the run stops right outside the Kitsch Inn, perfect for an apres-ski drink with live music!

In summer, Les Houches is the starting point for many hiking and mountain-biking trails, or even for more gentle walks from the top of the Bellevue cable car with stunning views over to the snow-capped Mont Blanc. There is a fishing lake and tennis courts within 8-10 mins walk of the apartment and a huge variety of activities within a short drive including white-water rafting and rock climbing.

Approximately 3 miles from Les Houches, Chamonix is a large, lively, cosmopolitan, yet authentic town, world-famous for its skiing and mountaineering possibilities. Chamonix offers an abundance of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, up-market shops and all kinds of sporting possibilities. It also has a bowling alley and a large sports centre with an excellent swimming pool with high twisting water slide for kids.

Chamonix and Argentiere, which lies a little further along the valley, offer more challenging skiing possibilities including extreme off-piste challenges. Chamonix (the Aiguille de Midi cablecar) is also the starting point for the famous 27 km descent known as the Vallee Blanche. The ski bus (free with lift pass) runs regularly between Les Houches and the other areas in the Chamonix valley.

Arrival at the apartment is from 4pm and departure is before 11am.

A security deposit of £200/250 euros is payable with the final rental payment and is returned to you within 10 days of the end of your stay, upon satisfactory inspection of the apartment. ( In the unlikely event of any damage to the apartment, breakages or need for excessive cleaning, the cost would be deducted from the deposit.)

If a booking is made prior to 8 weeks of the letting, a rental deposit of 25% of the rental sum is required. The remaining balance of the rental sum and the security deposit are then due 8 weeks prior to the letting.

If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the letting the whole of the rental payment is to be forwarded, together with the security deposit of £200/250 euros.

If you cancel your booking, the following conditions apply:

Cancellation 57 days or more before arrival date - the rental deposit would be forfeited.

Cancellation 29-56 days before arrival date - 50% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.
Cancellation 15-28 days before arrival date - 25% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.
Cancellation 0 - 14 days before arrival date - 10% of rental sum + security deposit refunded.

We would refund the rental sum if we were able to re-let the apartment for the period in question.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
